The telephone on Lia's desk rang, and she picked it up, her heart racing.
"Hello. This is the F Sky Corporation, president's desk. How may I help you?" she said, her voice steady.
"Lia?" The voice on the other end was harsh and demanding. Lia's stomach twisted. She knew that voice.
"What?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"Of course it's me, your mother. I know you're the secretary of the F Sky Corporation. Why didn't you help your father? Your father's company is almost ruining, you are in a position to help now. Why didn't you help us? Are you being an unfilial child?"
Lia's heart pounded in her chest.
How did her mother know where she was?
She took a deep breath, trying to remain calm.
"I'm not being unfilial," she said, her voice firm. "I'm just doing my job."
