Just about half an hour before dinner at the Valois mansion, Natalie caught the sound of the Audi pulling in. Her heart started thumping as she dashed towards the window and observed Alonso parking and stepping out of the car. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach when he glanced up at her.
"Honey!" She grinned and waved at him and he grinned back reciprocating the wave. She had missed him so much today for some reason.
Like a schoolgirl meeting her celebrity crush, she ran out of her room towards the stairs and almost collided with her father-in-law. Refusing to let her happiness fade in his sour face, she continued running down the stairs and beamed at Alonso who was entering through the mansion door. Without missing a beat, she continued running and threw herself at him.
"Baby girl," he sighed into her hair tightening his embrace around her waist, but it wasn't tight enough.
"Alonso," she sighed back, all the fatigue of the day melting away in his arms.
