CHAPTER 5

There will be a tea party that will be handled by the Empress this Tuesday, Mother was invited, and I'm sure that the Duchess will be there as well. I asked Mother if I could come to their party and gladly she allowed me to go. So, my goal was to talk to the Duchess and try to connect with the Duke. The carriage was already prepared, Mother stepped into the carriage and I followed her. We arrived and went inside the Imperial palace, I could see other noblewomen. I glanced in every direction and bingo, I saw the Duchess. But first, I should say my greetings to other women as well.

The Marchioness and Mother were very close friends, they studied at the same academy when they were students."Oh hello there Yerenica, it's nice that you're here. I brought my daughter Camille" the Marchioness said. Behind the Marchioness, I could see a child behind her tugging the Marchioness's skirt."Go on baby, say hi to Yerenica" the Marchioness said as she pushed Camille next to me."H-hi, I-I'm Camille", "I'm Yerenica! Let's play?!" I invited her. She still was shy and looks like someone who needs a little push to strengthen their social life. I held her hand and ran to the little table next to the grown-up table which was near where the Duchess was sitting at.

I chatted with Camille but she was still in her shy state. I went closer to the flower bush which was near our table and showed her a bit of my something. "I have something to show you, I'm sure you'll be surprised," I said in a cheerful tone. Camille stood up while tugging her skirt and went closer to me. "Look" I took a flower from the bush and made it float, I made sure I did this in a place where the noblewoman won't notice me doing my thing."Woah" Camille said in awe," H-how did you do that?" she asked but uttered lesser than before. " Its magic, you'll keep it a secret between us right?" I said while raising my pinky finger to do the promise bond. Camille locked her finger to mine, "I promise" she said " Can you do it again?" she asked. "Hmm, maybe when we meet again, people might see us," I said, "okay".

"Camille I have to talk with someone first I'll go back at you okay?" I said, Camille nodded and I walked near the Duchess. "Greetings Duchess" I bowed, "Oh my, Countess's child has really good manners," the Duchess said. " How's the baby?" I said in an innocent tone, "The Duchess was a bit surprised, " Oh you have noticed my baby bump hehe, you see there is a baby growing in my tummy right now" the Duchess answered. I can tell that she is going to be a great Mother. "Duchess" I paused, she was still a bit confused, " Tell the Duke that he should inspect the Casino of Baron Leanders," I said with a serious tone. " Why is that?" she asked, " And make sure to double your security after giving birth to the baby especially after the Baron is put in jail" I continued.

The Duchess was in a shocked and confused state, " Um honey, I don't think these topics are for kids your age. Why don't you let the adults handle it okay? I'm sure everything will be fine." she said. " Duchess, at least tell my word to the Duke" I replied, right now the Duchess will start to think of me weirdly and suspiciously. " Okay, but I'm sure everything will be okay. I will sure tell the Duke okay?" she said in a comforting tone. I was still wearing a serious face because of how worried I was, "Duchess, I heard the Duke will be the one who will investigate the Illegal smuggling of drugs in the Empire" I said. " Yes, he will" she said in a worried face, "I just want to help you both, remember, inspect Baron's Casino and watch out after your birth. Because" I paused."Because?" the Duchess asked. "Because something unfortunate will happen if you won't take my advice, I'm sorry for troubling you Duchess," I said, the Duchess nodded in a confused state and I went back to Camille.

The Tea Party was over, other Noblewomen went inside their carriages off to their homes. Our carriage has already arrived, Mother has already entered the carriage, I glanced at the Duchess and nodded at her. We went back home, I was in hope that she will truly deliver it to the Duke.
