Chapter 54: Waking Up

{3rd Person POV}

Opening his eyes he saw white ceiling, blinking a couple of times, he looked towards his left side where he felt his hand was held by someone. Seeing the one who was holding his hand, he smiled a bit and tightened the hold while saying "Hello Fuyumi."

Fuyumi who had her head down with a worry filled face jolted as she heard his voice. Without saying anything, she got on to the bed and gave him a bear hug. She rested her head on his chest, hiding her face from him.

Jōichirō was surprised at first, but shrugged it off as he stroked her white hair lovingly. He also felt his chest getting wet, so looking down at Fuyumi he asked "Hey are you crying? Or, are you licking my chest? GHA."

"Don't joke around. I'm crying." Fuyumi told him as tears were falling from her eyes.

"I get that, but why did you pinch me?" Jōichirō asked her.

With a tinge of blush, Fuyumi said "You asked me if I licked you." Then giving him a glare she continued "And for your information I'm not a dog or cat to lick you."

"My bad." Jōichirō said as he placed his forehead on her forehead and whispered "Were you worried about me?"

"Yeah." Fuyumi replied as she looked into his eyes.

Jōichirō, who was also looking at Fuyumi at a close range, looked down at her red lips.

Fuyumi, seeing that, flicked on the side of his head and said "Not until you're of age, Mr."

"Alright." Jōichirō said, and he kissed her on the cheeks while continuing "I love you."

"Love you too." Fuyumi replied without missing a beat.

They laid on the bed like that for a few minutes, with Fuyumi on top of him with her head on his chest.

The door slid open and the ones who opened it froze on the spot, except for the two kids with them, who ran towards Jōichirō shouting "Big brother!" "Jojo!"

With an embarrassed face, Fuyumi got off from Jōichirō and stood beside the bed as she watched the two little girls climbing onto the bed and hugging Jōichirō from both sides.

Looking at Eri and Yuki, Jōichirō said "What's up?"

They didn't say anything and buried their faces on his shoulder while sobbing. Hugging them to show them that he's fine, Jōichirō said "Come on, I'm alright. See, nothing happened to me."

That didn't have the desirable effect as both kids were still sobbing in his hands. Sighing, he looked at his mother and father to see what had happened.

"Yuki is worried sick as you were not waking up from your sleep." Tomo said.

"Eri was worried that you might disappear like her father." Jun told Jōichirō, as both of them neared the bed where Fuyumi was standing.

Playing with both of their hairs, Jōichirō told them "It's alright, I'm not going to disappear."

Eri and Yuki just nodded their heads but didn't say anything. Looking at his parents, Jōichirō asked "How long?"

"This is the second day. The doctor told us that you are not in a serious condition and that you should wake up when you need to." Jun told him.

Running her hand through his hair and gently stroking his head, Tomo asked "What was taking so long for you to wake up? You made us worried."

"I don't know myself mom. I just saw my childhood, like. the time when I manifested my quirk, starting my cooking class under the chef... things like that." Jōichirō said with a smile.

Tomo and Jun had a gentle smile on their faces after Jōichirō said that. Shaking his head Jun said "That brings back memories."

Smiling with them, Jōichirō also thought about the past. But he had to stop as something came to his mind, so he asked "What happened to Ragdoll, Momo and Kyoka?"

Grimacing, Tomo said "The doctor said that she's recovering from all the blood loss she suffered due to the injury. And both of your friends are safe and your other classmates came by yesterday."

"That's good to hear." Jōichirō did notice that something else had happened and he concluded that they were just shaken up due to the kidnapping of Bakugo.

Before they could continue their conversation, the door was opened again and Shoto came in.

"You're awake." Shoto said after seeing Jōichirō.

"Yeah I am." Jōichirō replied.

Shoto looked at his sister Fuyumi, and she understood that her brother had to say something to her boyfriend. So she persuaded Jun and Tomo to go out of the room along with Eri and Yuki who fell asleep after calming down.

Looking at Shoto, Jōichirō asked "So, what's up?"

"Bakugo was kidnapped by the ones who attacked the training camp." Shoto said.

Jōichirō didn't say anything as he didn't want to give Shoto a dry reply as he already knows that Bakugo is kidnapped by the league of villains.

"Me and Kirishima are going to rescue him with the help of Yaoyorozu." Shoto said again.

"I see." Was the only reply given by Jōichirō.

"Are you coming with us to rescue him?" Shoto asked him.

"Nah... I just woke up, man. I don't want a fight right now." Jōichirō denied his invitation.

Sighing, Shoto said "I know. But I also know that if you came with us then saving Bakugo will be an easy task."

Nodding at Shoto, Jōichirō said "You know what? Share me the location, I'll be there after doing whatever I need to do here to get out."

Squinting his eyes, Shoto asked Jōichirō "How do you expect to reach there on time if it takes time to get a discharge from here?"

Raising an eyebrow, Jōichirō asked Shoto "Did you forget that I'm faster than Iida?"

"No. I just didn't consider you using quirk openly, that's all." Shoto said.

"Well, I used my quirk every single second. There's no activation and deactivation, it's passive." Jōichirō said.

"Alright, I'll share with you the location." Saying that Shoto stood up "Then, I'll see you."

"See ya." Jōichirō said.

After leaving the room and on his way to the exit, Shoto thought to himself 'Why was he calm? Didn't his parents or my sister say anything about the attack his family faced on that day?'

A few minutes after Shoto left, Fuyumi came back into the room alone and saw that Jōichirō had switched on the television and was watching the news.

Coming over to him and sitting on the bed, she asked him "Are you really alright?"

"Yeah, I'm perfectly alright." Jōichirō replied as he held her hand.

"What exactly happened?" Fuyumi asked him.

Sighing, Jōichirō replied to her "Eri lost control over her quirk, and I tried to contain the outburst as fast as possible, or else my classmates would have disappeared like her dad disappeared and I didn't want that to happen at all."

"What would have happened if that failed and you disappeared from the face of the earth?" Fuyumi asked him with tears forming in her eyes.

With a gentle smile, he wiped her tears and said "Your man is not that weak."

Fuyumi chuckled at that and punched him playfully.

They then talked among themselves for some minutes and Jōichirō asked her "Is there a way for me to get discharged right now?"

"After the check up by the doctor, he will tell us if you can be discharged or not." Fuyumi told him.

"Sure." Jōichirō replied.

Fuyumi went to get the doctor and when she came back she was with Jun and the doctor. The doctor did some check ups on Jōichirō and told them that he is healthy to be discharged, but told them to see the psychological expert who was appointed by U.A to help the students from their trauma.

As the doctor left the room after writing the discharge slip, Jōichirō asked Jun "Where's mom?"

"Mmm? Ah... She's in the hotel with Yuki and Eri. They are tired." Jun replied.

Before Jōichirō asked anything else, the news changed to the press conference held by the U.A staff.

The three of them watched the press conference and how the media tried every way to portray U.A as an incompetent institute, which they were because of the continuous attack by the villains at an alarming rate and also because of their inability to stop the kidnapping of Bakugo. It also showed Aizawa apologizing for letting Bakugo have his unhinged rage in his personality.

Jōichirō switched off the TV as that clip was finished and just then a message was received on his phone. Checking it out, he saw that it's from Shoto and it's the precise location of the Nomu factory. Seeing that, he thought 'They will be alright. The only variable I can think is Akainu. But, Aizawa and Vlad King knew him before hand, so that means the Pro's know about him very well. And I'm sure that Touya will be at either the hideout or the Nomu factory. They will be alright.'

Looking at his father he said, "Dad, let's go home with mom, Yuki and Eri. You're welcome to Fuyumi."

As he said that, the room became silent and only the sound of second hand moving could be heard.

*tick* *tick* *tick*

Looking at both of them, he found that they have an awkward expression on their face. Confused, he asked "What happend?"

"You see son, we can't go back to our home for a week or two." Jun said.

"Why?" With confusion apparent on his face, Jōichirō asked.

"Well... you see... how do I say this?" Jun kept on delaying and thought about a way that would not make his son upset after hearing what he had to say.

"Come on dad, what is it?" Jōichirō asked again.

Fuyumi, who was standing next to Jōichirō, told him "A Nomu attacked your house."

Jun winced at that, and expected an outburst from his son.

"Come again?" Jōichirō asked calmly. Jun looked at his son in wonder and thought 'What's up with him?'

Then looking at his father, Jōichirō asked, calmly "A Nomu, attacked our home, when Yuki and you guys were present?"

Sighing in defeat, Jun said "Yeah."

"Did you find anything through your mind reading?" Jōichirō asked Jun in a calm manner, which started to freak out Jun.

"Wel..." Jun, really didn't want to continue, but Jōichirō urged him "Come on dad, tell me what did you find?"

Jun contemplated for a few seconds, even after the urging of Jōichirō, finally Jun said "Some guy with hands on his face and arms, ordered Nomu to attack our house. And he also gave the order to eliminate me and your mom, and kidnap..."

He didn't finish his sentence, as Jōichirō gestured him to stop. Jun saw that his son had started to ponder, so he started to speak with Fuyumi telepathically 'Why did you tell him bluntly? You know his nature very well, don't you?'

Shurgging, Fuyumi replied 'That's exactly why I told him. I love you guys like my family and I see Yuki as my own sister. I can't stand seeing any of you getting hurt.'

'I know that! But, telling him like that will only escalate the situation.' Jun told her.

'Don't you want to see that villain get his retribution for trying to harm your family?' Fuyumi asked Jun.

'Of Course I do!' Jun replied.

'And won't Jōichirō want to give the retribution by his own hands for trying to harm his family? Especially, for plotting to murder you two and kidnapping Yuki?

Mentally sighing, Jun said 'Yeah, you're right. And I have no idea what he will do.'

'Relax, he's not someone to lose rationality. He'll probably break some of the villain's bones.' Fuyumi replied.

'Why are you so chill about this?' Jun asked her.

'Well, my father and brother had broken some bones of the villains, and they boast about it at home. I'm used to it.' Fuyumi replied while shruddering a bit.

While they were having telepathic communication, Jōichirō loaded the map and told them "Dad, send me the address of the hotel. I'll be there by morning."

Running his hand over his face, Jun said "Jōichirō, please just don't kill him."

"What do you mean dad? I'm just going over there to give him a present as he had given us one, isn't that manners?" Jōichirō asked innocently.

"That is manners. But, just make sure that you are not identified." Jun advised him.

"Is my room still intact after mom's rampage?" Jōichirō asked Jun.

"Yeah. It's intact." Jun confirmed it.

Hugging Fuyumi and giving her a kiss on her cheek he said "I'll be back."

Smiling at him, Fuyumi said "Go and kick some ass."

"Will do, love. Will do." Right after saying that, Jōichirō disappeared from the spot.

Jun looked at Fuyumi and shaked his head while thinking 'She's been spending some time with Tomo. Thank god she only has ice quirk and not fire like her father, or both like her brothers.'
