Even when everyone took off their helms, he still had his one. Rose always saw him with the helms on his head. He rarely took it off, and today wasn't any different.

Sam heard a voice that hadn't spoken other words to him except for giving commands for almost a year now. Her tone was soft, causing him to remember the past, but he still didn't answer.
His gaze focused on the dark clouds which floated in the sky. He ignored Rose. She wasn't giving him orders, so he had no reason to talk with her. "I never thought you felt upset. This is new, considering that robotic mind of yours," Rose said as she sat beside him.
Sitting on the ground was nothing to her as she had even crawled underground, and that was without her Exo suit.
"Robotic mind huh" she heard Sam's voice, even with his detached tone, she could feel his spiked emotions as her words seemed to hurt him.
