10. Will you come with me?

Alex looked at her and saw the fierceness and determination in her eyes and couldn't help but wonder what will happen and what will she do if and when she finds out his identity among the shifters and the astral realm as the lycan king. The King of all supernatural creatures.

"Tell me about it later. And for the time being, don't address me as alpha, call me by my name." Alex said and went after Lillie, leaving the two men to their thoughts.

Shaking his head and sighing at his predicament, he spoke in a defeated manner, "I am not telling you what to do, I am merely offering to you my help. I simply can't let you walk home that will be harmful to your health, don't forget, you just got discharged."

"I am not planning on walking in walking home, I am not stupid to do something like that and you don't have to worry about me anymore," Lillie said in the same time and manner as before, still not breaking their eye contact.

"I am sorry if I made a bad first impression, it was not my intention," he said, apologizing out of the blue. He did not what else to say to her anymore. He was deeply hurt by her rejection.

If it had been some other person and not her standing before him and saying all that, it was more than a hundred per cent certainty that they would lose their head by now. But the stubborn girl in front of him was none other than his mate.

He can never and will never do something intentionally to hurt his mate. It won't be wrong to say that she is his Achilles heel. She is the only one he will bend for, now and give up everything just to keep her safe and by his side.

This was the moment when Raal and Kevin enter the room. They were shocked to hear Alex apologize to someone. Never in their lives have they thought that Alex will do or say something like that. They were not the only ones who were shocked, Lillie was not any different from them at the moment.

Alex's apology took her by surprise, and she was seriously taken aback not expecting any such from thing him. From what she saw so far, this Alex of a man was highly respected by all those around him and people like him were usually domineering and overbearing. Yet here he was apologizing for a fault that was never his. She wasn't sure just how powerful he was or what his identity is in the two worlds but she knew he commanded authority so his words surprise her. A lot.

Lillie was about to reject his offer once again but just then, she caught sight of Raal and Kevin by the entrance and she couldn't bring herself to reject him I'm front of his people which will be humiliating for a leader. Enemy of not she could not bring herself to do it. She'll let him drop her off as payback for saving her and since he was so into sending her himself.

She felt comfortable around him, he didn't give off a negative vibe towards her and whenever he touched her, there was always this spark on her skin and butterflies in her stomach and this was something that she has never felt with anyone else. Why her body reacted to him that way she had no idea, but she was determined to fight it. She can't possibly have feelings for him, he was the enemy and too on their first encounter.

"Fine, you can drop me off, bit is the only thing that you will be doing I can take care of myself after that," Lillie said and started walking towards the door. She nodes at Kevin and Raal and then walked past them without waiting for a reply from them.

"Alpha, we found some thin at Luna's house that you want to know, " Real said and approached Alex.

"tell me about it later. And for the time being, do not address me as alpha when she is around call me by my name." Alex said and left to follow after Lillie leaving the two men to their thoughts.

Outside, Lillie stood a few steps away from the entrance door waiting for Alex to take her home as they have agreed, when he felt his presence near her, she turns around to ask him to lead the way.

Instead of walking to the car, he took his steps towards her and right in front of her, his left hand holding her waist while his right cupped her face. He closes his eyes for two seconds before opening them and then staring into her ocean-blue eyes with love and tenderness in his emerald green ones.

"I will never hurt you, not even by accident. You don't have to fear me because I am here to protect you, I will do whatever it takes to protect you no matter what I have to give up." He said and paused for a moment to let his words sink into her before he spoke again.

"Come with me, please," he said and moved to hug her. He was desperately trying to take her with him but he didn't want to force her. He wanted her to agree and accept it on her own and go with him that way he wouldn't feel guilty for taking her against her will.

Lillie was dumbfounded. The moment he touched her waist she wanted to push him away but at the same time she wanted to feel the warmth his touch provided her, she was confused and indecisive, but eventually, she let him hold her as he wished.

When she heard his words she was touched deep down in her heart, she felt loved. But why did he say that he was there to protect her?

They have only known each other for a few hours and most of which she was unconscious. But she could feel the sincerity of his words and be almost compelled to believe him. Then she heard him asking her to go with him. She was shocked by his request. Why was he so hellbent on keeping her by his side? It's not like they were related in any way.

Before she could say anything, he hugs her making the words that were about to leave her throat return back inside unvoiced.

She felt his care for her as he hugged her. Subconsciously, her hands moved on their own to his back and patted him to soothe his emotions. She withdrew her hands back to her sides when she realised it but that little gesture was enough to put a smile on Alex's lips. He is mate was responding to him and reacting to his presence.

Pulling away from the hug, he resumed the same position he was in before hugging her and asked, "Will you come with me?"

Subconsciously, Lillie nodded her head in agreement. Looking into his eyes, she was captivated and spellbound that she failed to understand his before agreeing to it. Now it was too late, she has already agreed and she doubts he will let go back to her word. She has no other choice but to go with him.
