11. A tender loving creature

Alex hugged Lillie, he was desperate, he didn't want to live without her anymore. He has lived for so long and waited for so long to finally be with her. The thought of staying away from her even for a second was so painful to digest. "Will you come with me?" he asked holding a little tighter, afraid of what her answer would be, afraid of being turned down by her, his mate, his haven. "Come with me, please."

Subconsciously, Lillie nodded her head. She could hear the pain in his voice when he asked her to come with him. She didn't want to hear such pain in his voice and unknowingly agreed before she could even realize it.

Alex held her tighter in excitement when he felt her nodding her head. He couldn't explain the joy he felt just with that small gesture, he could feel his Wolf purr in his head.

While the mates were having their time together, Real and Kevin had finished settling the bills and met them outside. They were shocked to their core when they saw Alex hugging Lillie. They have never imagined for once that they would see Alex being so gentle with anyone. Was the mate bond that powerful to have turned the king of beasts Alexander Ragnar into a tender-loving creature? They didn't know because they too haven't found their mates yet.

For someone who was at the top of the food chain, he was bound to be the worst creature of all, the things he had done to remain at the top untouched were enough testimony of the kind of person that he is. As the king of the supernatural realm ruling over haughty creatures who require ruthless actions to keep them in check, a kind, calm and gentle ruler was completely out of the question. They need someone worse than them to rule them and Alex was the perfect being for that position that is how he was able to remain for such a long time even after all the noble lycans were gone and he was the only one left.

Seeing him acting like someone who has always been a gentleman for his mate left them amazed they almost could not believe what they were seeing.

Alex release her from the hug and looked at her to confirm if she had agreed to go with him, when he did see any rejection, he hugged her once again and smiled.

While Alex was having the moment of his life, Lillie didn't what reaction to have, she didn't know what was wrong with her which made her greet to go with him without even thinking about through first.

Breaking the hug, Alex's mind linked his better ("Raal, where is it?") he asked.

Raal was immediately snapped back from his thoughts when he heard his alpha's voice inside his head and responded immediately, (" It's in the parking lot, alpha.") said knowing what his alpha had asked about. ("Alpha, some of our warriors are there waiting as we speak.") Raal added.

("Tell them to maintain some distance between us.") Alex said and looked at Lillie briefly and held her hand and started walking toward the parking lot. ("I will drive the car myself, Join another.") Raal nodded and mind-linked the warriors to keep some distance as the alpha has asked.

They reached the car and stopped, Alex, stretched out his hand to open the door for Lillie but stopped midway when he heard a mind link from his gamma, ("Alpha, is she coming with us?") he asked, he was not what to expect, she was a human after all.

("Yes, she is my mate so she stays with me.") Alex replied and proceeded to open the door. He helped her in and turned around to the driver's seat and sat behind the wheel and started driving out of the hospital.

All the while, Lillie had been paying close attention to their faces and knew something was going on. She could see as their eyes became slightly blurry from time to time. She did not know what that was about but she could deduce that it has something to do with the fact that they were not humans.

She turned to Alex and asked when she noticed that someone was absent since she came out and got in the car, "Mr. Ragnar, where is Cecile?" she asked. She felt comfortable with Cecile. So not seeing her gave her a sense of disappointment.

Alex frowned when he heard her asking if someone else, here he was trying to get her attention but there she was thinking of someone else.

("Where is Cecile?") he asked through the mind link.

("She went back home, alpha. She said she had some things to arrange before luna arrives.") Raal replied.

Alex turned to Lillie and said, "She went home, you will see her once we arrive."

"Oh. Okay." Lillie said and returned her gaze to the road and passing trees outside the car.

Silence reigned between them as no one knew what else to say to the other. Alex drove silently feeling relaxed, he would once in a while steal a glance at her.

Lillie was having a flashback of all that happened the previous night and all the recent happenings in her life, the negative surpassed the positive by a huge margin. When her aunt's lifeless body appeared in her head once again, she shuddered as cold ran through her body. Her eyes became glassy with unshed tears but none came out, she didn't allow it. That little change in her didn't go unnoticed by Alex, he held her hand in his and caressed its back with his thump.

The spark from his touch helped to soothe her and the pain in her heart subsided. He knew what she was thinking about but he didn't know how to comfort her and didn't t want to say the wrong words and make things worse than they already were. He dove the car to a stop and unbuckled his seat belt. He cupped her face in his palms and leaned forward and kissed her forehead and then hugged her.

Lillie stiffen at his gesture, she did not expect him to do that at all but it gave her the comfort that she needed, and did not protest. She raised her hands and wrapped them around his neck and hugged him back.

By the time they both pulled away, Lillie was a lot calmer. Alex looked at her and smiled. Lillie felt sleepy and closed her eyes and slept off after a while and Alex reclined the seat for her so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

After about an hour of driving the car finally came to stop at a villa. Alex carried her inside without waking her up and went straight to his bedroom and tucked her in for a proper rest. He leans forward and kissed her forehead again before leaving the room
