Valerie's POV
I walked beside Rohan, my heart racing with excitement and a hint of fear. We were finally going to find the children, and I couldn't wait to see them safe and sound. The tracker had led us to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town, and Rohan had insisted on coming with me.
As we approached the building, Rohan's hand brushed against mine, sending a spark of electricity through my body. He didn't pull away, instead, he intertwined his fingers with mine, giving my hand a gentle squeeze.
"I'm not going to let anything happen to you," he whispered, his eyes scanning the surrounding area.
I smiled, feeling a sense of safety with him by my side. "I know," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
We entered the warehouse, our footsteps echoing off the walls. Rohan pulled me closer, his arm wrapping around my waist.
"Stay close," he whispered, his eyes scanning the shadows.
