Homelander's Plan

Li Yue wasted no time and immediately broke through the roof. He rushed at the figure that was running at extreme speed.

"Did I awaken a special hobby to punch through the roof?"

Li Yue spared a second inside his heart to comment on his situation, but he quickly pushed it to the back of his mind!

Li Yue formed a claw with his hand and directly grabbed the speedster. In the eye of others, that figure was indeed very fast: he had exceeded the speed of sound! But Li Yue's spiritual perception allowed him to see the speedster as not much faster than regular people!

Li Yue easily grabbed his neck as if he had personally delivered his neck to Li Yue!

Of course, Li Yue was faster than him, and he gave him no time to dodge!

Li Yue didn't stop there. He grabbed the speedster's entire body with one arm and slammed it to the wall!

Bang!

With a loud sound, a crater in the shape of a human was created on the wall.

Li Yue sent a current along his arm to the man he was holding. He controlled his power to only paralyze, not kill.

"Annie, what's going on?"

Li Yue turned around and faced Starlight, whose superpower was still active!

"Li Yue? So it's you!"

Anne was rather surprised: everything had happened too quickly. A-Train, whom she had been fighting, had been subdued before she could realize!

Li Yue wasn't wearing the combat suit that Vought had provided, so it took a few seconds for Starlight to recognize him. But she was instantly assured when Li Yue turned to face her!

"Not good! Mom!"

However, Starlight's mind was immediately distracted by something else. She stopped her superpower, removing the bright glow in her eyes and palms. She then rushed to the middle-aged woman on the ground.

"Mom, Wake up! Don't leave me, Mom! Huu...."

Starlight could not suppress the sadness in her heart. Her tears flowed endlessly from her eyes!

But even from some distance away, Li Yue could see that the woman on the ground was no longer breathing, and her heart no longer beating. Unless a miracle from the Jade Emperor descended upon the Earth, saving her was impossible.

Li Yue could sense that her bones were completely shattered, her ribs collapsed and broken, and her internal organs were utterly destroyed as if she was hit by a speeding truck!

But she was inside the house; how could she be hit by a truck? The only probable cause was A-Train, the person in Li Yue's hand.

Li Yue subconsciously increased the output of his electricity. A-Train began to convulse, his face contorting in pain, but Li Yue's hand was still firmly grabbing his neck. He couldn't even shout in pain!

"What's going on? Why are you here? And why did you kill Starlight's mother?"

Seeing that A-Train was about to faint, Li Yue stopped the electric output and slightly loosened his grip. He asked A-Train in a low voice!

"Huff...I...I happened to overhear your call with Starlight...Then I followed her here..."

Perhaps still overwhelmed with pain, A-Train's fear caused him to not hide anything from Li Yue, despite him still grasping for breath.

"Why would you follow Starlight? If you don't answer honestly, you might be in for even more pain!"

Li Yue threatened A-Train, continuing with the interrogation!

"No, no... I already said that I followed Starlight just to find you..."

A-Train had lost any shred of courage he ever had. He truthfully answered every question that Li Yue asked.

It turned out that A-Train used to work for Vought International in their delivery department, bringing Compound V to hospitals that would then administer it to the babies. Later on, under coercion from Homelander, he secretly worked as a double agent for Vought and Homelander.

He secretly smuggled part of the Compound V shipment for use by Homelander, who would then give him some of the Compound V as a reward.

A-Train used Compound V to increase his speed since he was getting slower as he aged. He couldn't afford to lose the title of the fastest man in the world.

If he hadn't used the drug, he would probably have lost the race against Shockwave! To protect his position as a superhero, he had no choice but to listen to Homelander and smuggled Compound V for Homelander many, many times.

Of course, Homelander did not need so many Compound V for his own use. Instead, he secretly developed his own super-powered forces. He kidnapped orphans from all over the world and injected them with Compound V.

Despite the high failure rates of Compound V, there bound to be some success if he used large enough subject pools. And all of these awakened superhumans worked under Homelander, including a super-terrorist who could self-destruct later in the series.

And with the amount of time Homelander had invested, he wouldn't be satisfied with a small amount of superheroes. His true goal was world domination, starting with the domination of the Ministry of Defense.

In his plan, after superheroes enter the Ministry of Defense, he would let his super-terrorist stir up trouble, culminating in an announcement of a plan to attack the White House.

And with such a powerful enemy, the Ministry of Defense would naturally defer to Homelander to protect the president, giving him the perfect position to assassinate the president.

Of course, all of this had evaporated to thin air when Li Yue killed Homelander.

But Homelander's followers didn't seem to think that everything had ended just yet. They wanted to find Li Yue and avenge Homelander. Who knows where their courage came from when Li Yue had easily killed Homelander.

A-Train was one such follower. He felt that he had found a golden opportunity when he heard Starlight's call with Li Yue: he thought that Starlight was going to meet Li Yue in secret, not knowing that Starlight was actually confronting her mom about the Baby Plan.

In a fit of anger, A-Train rushed at Starlight, thinking that he could get Starlight to tell him about Li Yue.

Starlight didn't see A-Train coming from behind her, but her mother did. In a split second, her mother's protective instinct subconsciously made her push Starlight out of the way.

This might sound melodramatic, but this was true maternal love!

Starlight's mom was sent flying by A-Train. A normal human could never survive such an impact...

Starlight barely avoided A-Train when her mother pushed her out of the way. She saw her mother fall to the ground, and in grief and indignation, she used her full power to fight A-Train.

That was what Li Yue had seen when he arrived!
