Meanwhile, outside the Second Warehouse in the German Base.
A large number of German Soldiers were gathered there. Smoke bombs, guns, helmets and the bodies of wasps and soldiers, and so on were scattered on the ground. Everything was in a mess.
Many soldiers who had escaped the assault of the hornets sat on the ground in despair. They'd dared to attack the well-equipped U.S. Army but now felt helpless as they faced the attack of highly venomous wasp from out of nowhere.
The military equipment was highly useful in times of war, but now, they could no longer be used against their enemy. Instead, it was directed towards the wasps, stabbing and ringing out bullets one after another.
The useful weapon, in this case, would have been the flame thrower, but the storage house was like a war zone, so it was unusable. They could only rely on smoke bombs. However, with smoke bombs even if the wasps died, they'd still sting you, exchanging a life with life.
"Officer Leo's body was discovered in the basement of the warehouse."
"There are no signs of an intruder."
Many soldiers came out of the second warehouse to report. A couple of senior commanding officers also exchanged glances. The base had been mysteriously invaded with heavy casualties, and they were unable to react.
"Damn it! Get me more troops and search the whole base!" The second in command yelled angrily.
Suddenly, a soldier rushed out of the warehouse in panic and shouted, "Hurry! Get out of here!"
"What's the matter?" Several officers asked in unison.
"There's a time bomb inside––" The soldier said, and then––
There was no then.
The time bomb was activated by the remote control which was with Kyle. It was set up by him as soon as he entered the warehouse. It was not that powerful but was just enough to blow up the entire warehouse.
The warehouse, on the other hand, was filled with explosives.
'BOOM!'
First, there was an alarming explosion, followed by a series of loud explosions, the power of each one rising exponentially.
From Kyle's point of view, who was at the edge of the base, a cloud of bright fire shrouded the central part of the base. Waves of dust spread through the air at a speed invisible to the naked eye.
Kyle pushed the girl under one of the cars as the vibrations in the air shook her eardrum, and the windows broke upon being hit by shrapnel.
When the dust finally settled down, Kyle got up and looked around, only to see the entire central area wiped out with flames still burning brightly, turning the night sky red.
The fireworks that were only used during war truly lived up to their name.
The German Soldiers who were chasing him before were stunned at the scene. Some even collapsed and howled out of sadness.
"Now's our chance, let's go!" Kyle gasped as he carried the girl, but staggered after a few steps and collapsed on the ground.
His strength was low. His bodily functions were on decline. His consciousness slowly blurred into darkness.
"What's wrong?" The girl asked anxiously. From her perspective, the fact that Kyle could go on even after such heavy blood loss after being hit by the bullet was incredible,
"I'm fine." Kyle bit the tip of his tongue to stimulate his nerves and slowly moved towards the iron mesh, which was now just ten meters away.
"Damn it! There they are!"
"We must avenge our brothers! Don't let them get away!"
The surviving soldiers shouted abuse as they chased after the two of them.
"If we go on like this, they'll catch up with us. Untie the rope and put me down! I'll stop them." The girl made up her mind.
"Stop talking nonsense. With such a small body, you can't even delay them by half a second." Kyle smiled bitterly. He was more focused on the next step he needed to take.
If it were a matter of life and death, he could only give up the girl and teleport out of the base using [Stealth].
However, was it a matter of life and death?
Kyle sighed. His body was slowly weakening. If he didn't get treated soon, his life would be in danger.
"So…" However, just as Kyle tried to speak, a large group of familiar figures appeared in front of him. Kyle's eyes widened as he muttered, "This is…"
.
"Avoid the two in front. Kill the rest!" The leader of the team spoke coldly.
Da Da Da!
A loud sound rang out as they shot at the soldiers pursuing Kyle and the girl.
Under the overwhelming gunfire, more than twenty soldiers were wiped out on spot!
"You're here at last, Fury!" Kyle smiled in relief. The moment he saw Fury's figure, he knew that he was safe.
"Right, now please give us further instructions." Sergeant Fury stepped forward to hold Kyle with a pearly smile on blooming on his face.
