"Didn't I say those mechanical arms were so agile? Dr. Octopus uses them like his own limbs. It turns out those mechanical arms have their own consciousness," Steve Rogers said. "Even arms can have thoughts now. Strange things are really getting too numerous."
"I have to say, Dr. Octopus is also a tragedy," Phil Coulson said after watching the video. "He once told Peter about using his intelligence to benefit humanity. It's clear that his nature isn't evil. The reason he went down this wrong path is entirely due to the influence of those mechanical arms."
"Influence?" Tony Stark shook his head. "No, no, calling it influence isn't quite appropriate."
"Isn't this still influence?" Phil Coulson continued, "You saw it yourself. The mechanical arms can have conversations with Dr. Octopus. When Peter was trying to convince him in the end, those arms even tried to interject, but Dr. Octopus stopped them."
"You're right, but did you notice that Dr. Octopus began to 'regain consciousness' after he was electrocuted?" Tony Stark said.
"Indeed, his gaze at Peter changed completely after the shock. He didn't seem like an enemy at all; he looked more like an old friend," Nick Fury said. "In fact, they really had a conversation like 'old friends' in the end."
"The fact that he regains consciousness only after being electrocuted makes me think this is not just simple influence, but rather being controlled," Tony Stark said with a very certain tone. "It's obvious that those mechanical arms possess extremely high artificial intelligence, and Dr. Octopus was being controlled by them. I speculate that when he initially designed these arms, he must have included some sort of anti-control mechanism. However, for some reason, something went wrong, and he ended up being controlled by the mechanical arms."
"Tony, even these 'rudimentary' mechanical arms can reverse-control the host. This research is indeed very dangerous," Steve Rogers seized the opportunity to say, "The Vision, a highly advanced intelligent robot like him, surely poses even more variables. It's better not to create something like that lightly."
"It's different. Dr. Octopus must have created the mechanical arms all by himself, without any experience or references," Tony Stark insisted on his viewpoint. "But us, we have the knowledge from the future to guide us, and the mistakes we've made also provide us with lessons. Captain, just imagine how powerful the Vision is. If Thanos were to come, think about what kind of help that would be."
"Tony, even without the Vision, we still defeated Thanos," Bruce Banner said. "Forgive me for being blunt, but the Vision's performance against Thanos was simply disastrous."
"He didn't even get a chance to make a move; he had the Infinity Stone taken away immediately. Indeed, it was pretty bad," Tony Stark couldn't deny this point either. "However, I'm convinced there must be a reason behind it. After all, the future video only played certain segments; the causes and consequences of certain things weren't shown."
[Seventh question, get ready.]
[Which of the following characters was not killed by Ultron?]
[A. Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers]
[B. Iron Man, Tony Stark]
[C. Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff]
[D. Universal Tyrant, Thanos]
[Answer correctly to receive "Euphoric Pure Land of Magic," as long as you jump into the Pure Land of Magic, there is a certain probability of pulling intelligent beings within a ten-meter radius into the 'dance domain' and making them dance together. Answer incorrectly, and one year of lifespan will be deducted.]
"Who wasn't killed by Ultron?" Thor immediately sensed that something was amiss with this question. "We've seen many videos from the Age of Ultron. It seems like Captain Marvel never participated, right? And as for Thanos, this is even more absurd. When did the Age of Ultron have anything to do with Thanos?"
"Moreover, given Ultron's abilities, he couldn't have possibly killed Captain Marvel, let alone Thanos," Stephen Strange added.
"So, this should be another parallel world, a parallel world where Ultron is incredibly powerful and has faced both Captain Marvel and Thanos," Steve Rogers said.
"Different parallel worlds have very similar plots that can provide references, but this parallel world seems quite different from ours," Clint Barton pointed to Thanos, "If Ultron and Captain Marvel fought in that world, I can understand that—after all, Captain Marvel is also a superhero. But having Thanos in the options is really perplexing. They're both super villains who slaughtered countless beings. How could they have crossed paths?"
"Perhaps it's simply meant to confuse us. The question didn't explicitly say that Ultron fought against Thanos," Tony Stark said. "Maybe this is just a straightforward option to test our judgment. After all, there have been easy questions before."
"I think the likelihood of choosing Thanos is high," Steve Rogers followed Tony Stark's lead. "If Ultron didn't face Thanos, then naturally he wasn't killed by him. And if they did cross paths, with his power, it's very unlikely that Ultron was killed by Thanos."
"Not just Thanos, the possibility of Captain Marvel being killed by Ultron is also quite low," Stephen Strange said. "Among these four options, Natasha is the one with the lowest power. I think it's most likely that Ultron killed Natasha, followed by Tony."
"I agree," Bruce Banner said. "The answer should be between Thanos and Captain Marvel."
"As for who to choose, let Natasha and Wanda decide," Nick Fury said. "This reward, I think it's beyond the capability of us men."
"This reward is indeed tailor-made for women," Phil Coulson said. "It should be answered by Natasha or Wanda."
"Coulson, your words aren't right," Tony Stark shook his head upon hearing this.
"Not right?" Phil Coulson asked. "Tony, are you interested in this reward too?"
"Not, not, not. I absolutely agree with your viewpoint that this reward should be answered by women. When I said you were wrong, I meant your second sentence," Tony Stark asked, "There's more than just Natasha and Wanda among the women here, you forgot one."
"Who did I forget?" Phil Coulson scanned the answer space, "No, besides Natasha and Wanda, there's no third woman here."
"Oh my god, Coulson, how could you forget Thor's woman?" Tony Stark pointed at Loki, "Sif has been watching you for a while now, with a look of 'what about me, what about me,' and you've been completely ignoring her."
"What?!" Loki's face turned blue with anger, "Coulson, how can you forget that I'm not a woman?"
"I don't think you are, but Thor thinks you are," Tony Stark said, "You might not know, but his mind is full of—"
"Stark!" Before Tony Stark could finish, Thor grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up. "Can't you stop being so absurd? Can't you just answer the question honestly?"
"Okay, okay!" Seeing that Thor was getting genuinely angry, Tony Stark stopped provoking him. "Can I shut up now?"
"Natasha, I'm not very interested in this reward. If you're interested, you can answer the question," Wanda Maximoff offered the opportunity to Natasha Romanoff without hesitation.
"This reward seems a bit indecent, but it's actually quite powerful. Just imagine, when Thanos comes, he can only dance with me, while everyone stands ten meters away and attacks. The scene is something to look forward to," Natasha Romanoff acknowledged that Wanda Maximoff was far more powerful than herself and didn't decline. "Then, I'll answer the question."
"Wow~" Tony Stark suddenly became spirited, "Although I don't know what dance 'Euphoric Pure Land of Magic' is, with Natasha's figure, any dance she does would be pleasing to the eyes."
"It would be even more pleasing if you joined me then," Natasha Romanoff said.
"It's a bit of a pity that it's not a hundred percent mind control, but only has a certain probability of making people dance," Steve Rogers expressed a bit of regret, "Otherwise, regardless of Thanos or Hela, they would just become 'dancing targets'."
"Captain, be content. Having a certain probability is already quite good," Bruce Banner took it lightly, "If it were a hundred percent mind control, then this skill would be too overpowered."
"Guys, my current opinion is pretty much the same as our previous discussion. The most likely to die among the four options are Tony and me, while the least likely are Thanos and Captain Marvel," Natasha Romanoff spoke up at this point. "But if I have to choose between Thanos and Captain Marvel, I choose Thanos. I don't think he would have fought Ultron. Does anyone have anything else to add?"
"I choose D!" after waiting for a while and seeing that no one was adding anything, Natasha Romanoff made her choice.
[Answer Incorrect! One year of lifespan deducted!]
However, her answer was wrong.
"Could it be Captain Marvel then?" Natasha Romanoff shifted her gaze to A, "Captain Marvel is so strong, it would make sense for her not to be killed by Ultron."
"But it wouldn't make sense for Ultron to have killed Thanos," Clint Barton said, "Ultron wanted to exterminate half of the universe's population, and Ultron wanted to wipe out all humans on Earth. Considering Earth, their goals were actually aligned. They should have joined forces. How could they end up fighting, and Ultron killing Thanos?"
None of the heroes present could make sense of this question. They could only patiently wait for the video to play and find out the truth from it.
The video began with a Quinjet flying in the air, Tony Stark's voice echoed through the radio inside the jet, "Ultron's objective is the launch code for the nuclear device. I don't know how much longer we can hold out."
"We need to disable the satellite network. Without the code, he can't activate the nuclear device," Natasha Romanoff said.
Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton were in the Quinjet, and everything seemed normal from their perspective. However, the situation was quite dire for Tony Stark, who had just communicated with them.
Tony Stark was surrounded by corpses; there was a body wearing a stars and stripes uniform, another with a red cape, and yet another one covered in green...
Besides the corpses, there were shattered shields, a discarded hammer on the ground...
No, they might not be corpses. Perhaps they weren't dead yet, but even if that were the case, being able to engage the strongest individuals from the Avengers in a life-and-death struggle was already astonishing.
"You... didn't have to go this far," Tony Stark struggled on the ground, lifting his head to look at Ultron. "I created you for peace."
"This is a revolution," the red-skinned Ultron extended his hands, gradually rising into the air. "Only a primitive mind can't see the difference. That's why you all must die."
Then, he emitted a dazzling light, sweeping towards all directions with a devastating force.
Tony Stark, who was in front of Ultron, was the first to be engulfed.
"Ultron? Is that Ultron? Isn't that Vision?" Ultron's appearance was revealed, causing Scott Lang to exclaim in surprise, "He looks exactly like Vision!"
"But his voice is indeed Ultron's voice," Stephen Strange said.
"Ultron's voice and Vision's appearance, this is quite strange," Nick Fury murmured.
"Remember how Vision came into existence? It was Ultron's attempt to create a body for himself," Tony Stark suddenly grasped the reason behind this, "I'm afraid in this parallel universe, let's call it Universe 8, Ultron successfully created a body for himself and transferred his consciousness successfully."
"So that really is Ultron, but with Vision's body," Scott Lang also understood.
"Ultron with Vision's body would be incredibly powerful." Clint Barton commented, "Captain, Thor, Hulk – the top heroes of the Avengers – would be no match."
"Especially Hulk, to think he could even fight Hulk to a standstill, his power is truly extraordinary," Natasha Romanoff added.
"Not only powerful, but also intelligent," Tony Stark continued, "This Ultron even came up with the idea of 'worldwide nuclear annihilation.'"
"Compared to our world's Ultron choosing to use a robot army for slaughter, using nukes would indeed be more efficient," Bruce Banner remarked, "In Universe 8, even Tony has just died, and the Avengers are left with only Natasha and Clint. I wonder if they can stop Ultron."
Whether they could ultimately stop him was uncertain, but concerning the concept of "worldwide nuclear annihilation," neither Natasha Romanoff nor Clint Barton could prevent Ultron. As they flew in the Quinjet, they saw one nuclear warhead after another tracing deadly parabolas through the sky.
"We're too late, he's done it," Natasha Romanoff gazed at the "fireworks" outside the jet, her voice filled with disbelief.
"Laura..." in this critical moment, Clint Barton thought of his wife, but he was powerless to stop any of this.
Next, the scene shifted to Earth, a close-up shot revealing a beautiful planet peacefully suspended in the vast cosmic void.
On this planet's surface, nuclear detonations erupted one after another, producing radiant bursts of light that adorned the planet like blossoms of death.
"Is this the end?" the heroes within the answer space were taken aback by this scene. When they first saw the question, they had anticipated an intense battle between the heroes of this parallel universe and Ultron.
But to their surprise, the video began with Earth's game over!
Where was Captain Marvel?
Where was Thanos?
Neither of them had even appeared yet!
"Ah..." Ultron stood amidst the ruins in the video, looking as content as if he had just chugged down a bottle of ice-cold soda on a scorching summer day, "Finally, peace."
Just then, a portal materialized behind him, and Thanos stepped through, wearing the Infinity Gauntlet.
"Interesting," Ultron turned around, glancing at Thanos. The Mind Stone on his forehead emitted a yellow light that cut through Thanos from crotch to head, splitting him in two.
Two halves of a body, resembling two pieces of sliced meat, fell to the ground.
The cosmic conqueror, Thanos, who had bloodily defeated superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Doctor Strange, and more, was defeated just like that.
There wasn't even a line of dialogue.
From appearing to dying, he lasted merely a second.
"Is this for real? Thanos just died like that?" the heroes within the answer space couldn't accept this turn of events. Stephen Strange couldn't help but say, "This is way too abrupt! Although it's satisfying to see Thanos killed this way, I don't think it makes sense."
"Yeah, while it's satisfying to see Thanos killed like that, I agree that it doesn't make much sense," Bruce Banner admitted his confusion, "Ultron only has one Infinity Stone, while Thanos has five. How could Ultron with one stone just one-shot Thanos with five?"
"Even if Ultron has Vision's body, we can't be sure if his strength is greater or weaker than Thanos. Personally, I lean toward Thanos being stronger," Steve Rogers also found this ending absurd, "Thanos is stronger, has more stones, yet he gets killed in one shot by someone weaker with fewer stones. There are only two words I can think of: ridiculous."
"Indeed, quite ridiculous," Tony Stark chimed in, "Remember during Thanos' invasion, he could use the Stones to turn Hulk into an illusion. It shows he knows how to use the Stones, yet he didn't use them and just stood there, getting killed by Ultron."
"Everyone, don't be so surprised. There are plenty of absurd things in this world. Reality isn't always logical, not everything has to conform to reason," Nick Fury maintained his composure, "Maybe Thanos underestimated Ultron, maybe the Mind Stone confused Thanos' mind. These details don't matter. What matters is that Thanos is dead, and the five Infinity Stones are about to fall into Ultron's hands."
"That way, Ultron will have six Infinity Stones..." Phil Coulson mused, "With just one Stone, Ultron could annihilate the Avengers. Now, with six Stones, Captain Marvel might not even be a match for him."
"Even if Ultron is that strong, if he leveled the Earth, what else could he do?" Scott Lang remarked, "Fight himself?"
"He essentially brought about a 'nuclear holocaust' on Earth, but that doesn't mean there are no survivors," Clint Barton noted, "Don't underestimate humanity's survival capabilities."
As events unfolded, they followed Nick Fury's prediction. Ultron killed Thanos and then slowly flew over to Thanos' body. A beam of light shot from Ultron's forehead, destroying the Infinity Gauntlet. The five colorful Infinity Stones flew up and merged into Ultron's body.
Instantly, Ultron seemed to be on a power trip, undergoing a significant upgrade. Without even starting a fight, it was clear from his appearance that he had become immensely more powerful.
"I have seen everything, I have seen different worlds behind me, and these worlds need me," Ultron stretched out his hand, conjuring an army of Iron Men amidst the ruins.
"I will bring peace to every corner of the universe." With this conviction, Ultron embarked on his path of destruction.
Asgard, Sakaar, Xandar, Ego...
Wherever Ultron's army of Iron Men went, planets fell one after another. Guardians of the Galaxy, the Grandmaster, and many other familiar faces were slain.
Ultron was sweeping through like a gust of autumn wind, and no planet posed even the slightest challenge. Until he reached the destruction of Xandar, an unexpected figure appeared. A woman radiating light descended from the sky and knocked Ultron out of the air.
"Listen, Terminator, I've seen my fair share of robot apocalypse movies, and I just want to say, sequels aren't really necessary!" Carol Danvers lunged at Ultron, sending him crashing into the ground.
Boom! Boom! As they continued to descend toward the Earth's core, Carol Danvers' fists relentlessly pummeled Ultron's head.
Attempting to pound a robot's head to destroy it, that level of intelligence was truly exasperating. If one had the time and energy for that, why not just pry off the gem from his forehead...
"You're quite spirited," after being hammered by Captain Marvel for a while, Ultron remarked in a leisurely tone.
"You'll never win!" Carol Danvers remained confident to the end.
"I already have," Ultron grasped Carol Danvers' wrists, prying her hands apart. The six Infinity Stones on his body simultaneously radiated brilliant light.
The force of this impact was so immense that not only Carol Danvers but the entire planet exploded. A chain reaction ensued, causing neighboring planets to explode as well.
"Six-stone Ultron is truly overpowering. Carol never stood a chance!" Nick Fury commented, who had always had faith in Carol Danvers, "But her death was accompanied by the destruction of a few planets, which matches her power."
"I'm not questioning Carol's strength, but why did she keep hitting Ultron's head?" Scott Lang couldn't help but ask, "Is it possible that robots, like humans, have vital points in their heads?"
"Speaking of which, Captain Marvel's behavior is even more absurd," Thor recalled something, "I remember during Captain America's fight with Ultron, he even tried to strangle Ultron. I've been wondering, does a robot need to breathe too?"
