Thanos and his team departed from the warehouse, leaving behind a trail of destruction and death. They moved quickly, surrounding a giant box and a Mad Titan as they made their way to their next destination. The members of Klaw's mercenaries followed closely behind, keeping a watchful eye for any potential threats or surprise attacks by SHIELD, but nothing happened. Klaw then arrived towards Frank and thanked him of their help, saying that they would have had more casualties if they decided not to help them. He sent a nod to Thanos which he returned in acknowledgment.
Klaw and his mercenaries then quickly left the scene taking with them their promised stack of cash. Thanos's squad kept on walking for minutes until they came to a stop, and a large truck suddenly appeared out of nowhere. One of Frank's members exclaimed that he really couldn't get used to the cloak device technology. Frank snorted and told the guy not to praise the technology department of their organization. Frank despised these bookworms for some reason.
They continued driving while Frank reminded everyone of what had just transpired. "Two lightly injured and one with heavy injuries, overall you did well," he said. He then turned his attention to the Alpha division, which consisted of five powered individuals in his team of ten, including himself. "Don't slack off just because none of you received injuries," he warned. The Alpha team nodded in agreement, knowing all too well what would happen if they decided to play cocky with Frank. Even if he didn't have any superpowers, his skills were terrifying in themselves. He managed to take down multiple SHIELD agents in quick succession and had already had a gun aimed at Klaw himself when he noticed people entering the warehouse.
Meanwhile, Thanos sat quietly, a little far away from the squad, pondering. Some of the squad would send gazes at him from time to time, as they rarely saw the boss of their organization. Thanos noticed this and asked them, "Do you need something?" The gazes looked elsewhere, but a particular one stayed on him.
It belonged to a woman with blonde hair, petite, and with features similar to those of a teenager. She had a curious spark in her eyes, eyes that had seen many things, good and bad, yet kept a strange purity in them. This girl was an oddity, even for Thanos. He had found her during his recruitment campaign in a war-driven country a few years ago. She had lost everything, nothing to strive for, and Thanos had given her a hand, salvation, and a new path to strive for. Since then, the woman had kept a loyalty and fascination towards the Mad Titan. She would follow him whenever she had free time, and if Thanos was not busy doing something important. Frank had usually told the girl not to bother the Titan boss, but Thanos did not mind her presence and allowed her to be near him.
Even the voice in his head grew a strange liking towards the girl, often asking Thanos to teach her how to protect herself by aiming at the enemy's bollocks. Thanos would ignore the voice's degeneracy but nonetheless teach the girl important things that she should be aware of. The girl also happened to possess some form of psychokinesis and was therefore useful for Thanos in better understanding his own powers. They would often practice together when the Mad Titan had free time. Since then, she had become one of his close protégés, at the same level as Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.
Coming back to the present, Thanos answered, "You know it's confidential, Chloe, even for you." The girl became silent and continued staring at the Mad Titan. The two individuals then began staring at each other. After a moment, the girl finally blinked, and the Mad Titan chuckled at her childish behavior. Who could win a staring contest against a titan with advanced biology, after all? Finally arriving in the base, thoughts that would scare off the regular human being kept on crossing the titan's mind.
The voice in Thanos's head murmured, 'We go the first puzzle, I can't wait to see that 'thing' after it is done.'
'Me too, I can't wait to see 'that' as well.
