Chapter 138: The Fall of the Forever Man

"Mr. Eric, are you sure you're telling the truth?"

In Eric's underground lab, the 'army' he had assembled was in place.

Juggernaut was still snoring; Barton was checking out his new arrows; Tony sat sipping his coffee; Tchakka, who had just arrived, was already in his battle armour, ready for battle; and Blade stood in the corner, dressed in black, coldly.

Only Captain America questioned Eric's words. He stared hard at Eric, his eyes full of distrust.

It was no wonder, he and Howard had been friends in battle together, they had only met two days ago, and now he was suddenly told that Howard is now being crazy... he can't believe him.

"I'm pretty sure, Captain!" Eric told the whole story, highlighting Howard's evil plan to reset the timeline, but not saying a word about the potion he had injected into people.

"I'll go with you!" Captain America nodded solemnly and stood aside Tony, looking like he had the same idea as Tony, to investigate first and then consider whether to defect ...

"Howard has the Eye of the Watcher in his hands, that's very bad bad news!" Eric looked around with a somewhat strained expression, "The Eye of the Watcher allows Howard to learn the weaknesses of each and every one of us, so we need to change! Whether it's weapons, or fighting styles, they all need to change!"

There's no way to stay the same! The Watcher is able to monitor the entire universe, and every single person has no secrets in his eyes.

In the original storyline, the Man on the Wall had no choice but to shoot the Watcher in order to save the world, obtaining one of his eyes and relying on the secrets therein to nearly destroy the Avengers in a group.

A simple code sent Iron Man flying straight back to Earth; a whisper in his ear caused Thor to lose his faith and disqualify himself from raising mjolnir ...

Relying on the Eye of the Watcher, the Avengers were thus broken by him in every way and nearly destroyed as a group. Eric didn't want to make that fatal mistake!

"Tony, your battle armor program needs to be redesigned, I'll help you with that."

"Hey man, I'm not going to let you touch my toys! I'm very suspicious of your skills! You've just admitted that you're not as smart as me!" Tony straightened up and shook his head one way or another.

"Future, fix him!" Eric waved his hand slightly and sent Tony into a nearby lab, where the avatar of the future appeared beside him, smiling at him.

"Mr. Stark, what can I do for you?"

"Shit, an AI?" Tony stood up with a jolt and looked Future up and down, "Erik, when did you peek at Jarvis' code?"

"Mr. Stark, I was born in 1997!" Future had a smile on his face, "There are some very obvious logic errors in Jarvis' program that I hope Mr. Stark can help him fix."

Tony: "..."

...

Get Tony the prick out of the way and the rest is much easier to do.

"Tchaka, I need some vibranium."

King Tchaca, who was as stingy as a gerontocracy to the world, slapped his chest, "How much do you need?!"

"It won't take much, let's start with a ton!" Eric said casually, as a sidekick, Captain America clutched his shield tightly, tears of aggression seemed to glitter in his eyes.

What happened to the promised little bit of vibranium in the world?

"Captain, give me your shield!"

Captain America: "You've got a ton of it, and you won't spare me this throwback?!"

...

"Howard, you have the wrong idea, time is not as fragile as you think!" Michelangelo turned slightly to the side and dodged an energy blast.

"Mistake? Yes, there are mistakes out there, but it's not me, it's this world! It's this time! This world and this time have made a mistake and I have to fix it! Put everything back on track!" Howard held a scepter style weapon in his left hand and raised his energy gun in his right hand to fire again.

"Time? And how well do you know time?" Michelangelo shook his head and raised his foot and kicked forward.

The distance between them was less than twenty metres, and Michelangelo's kick was like a kick in the air, but it was the kick that caused Howard, who was twenty metres away, to suddenly fall on his face and throw his energy gun out of his hand.

"The power of time? Interesting! You're actually able to channel force and energy through the timeline, my brother, I never thought that you'd be so powerful!" Howard slowly climbed to his feet and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with a wry smile.

"The watchers' eyes do not cover the entire multiverse, there are always corners that escape their sight." Michelangelo spoke indifferently, extending a finger and pointing it forward.

The golden finger crushed into Howard like a pillar in the sky, and Howard hastily raised the scepter in his left hand, his fingers slightly opened, and the scepter actually instantly disintegrated into hundreds of parts, large and small, spinning around Howard's arm in a continuous selection.

An odd force field was created in front of him, and Michelangelo's fingers could not move a single inch, even though the power of time was pervasive, it was still useless!

It was impossible to move forward, or backward! A triumphant smile appeared on Howard's face.

"You've made changes to it? It wasn't this strong before." Without the slightest worry, Michelangelo's body abruptly turned into a golden light and dissipated.

Howard gave a look of disappointment and waved his hand as the parts were once again assembled into a scepter, which he held in his hand.

"If I'm not mistaken, you want to use my body to navigate your instrument so that it can pinpoint the timeline, don't you?" Michelangelo coalesced once more beside Howard, glowing with a golden light that made it impossible to see straight.

"The Watcher's eye is so energetic that I need to pinpoint it, otherwise it's likely to blow the whole timeline to smithereens!" Howard once again let his cane morph and aimed it at Michelangelo, "Give your body for the sake of the world!"

Michelangelo shook his head, "How do you intend to control me? I exist on countless timelines at once, can you pull me all the way back?"

"I don't need to, one of you will be enough!" Howard gave a wry smile and gave a distant nod to the energy gun that had fallen on the first, which instantly disintegrated and changed into a black box, from which a blue light shot out, illuminating Michelangelo within it.

With a wave of Howard's hand, all the parts suspended next to his arm floated away to Michelangelo, forming a bizarre force field around him, and Michelangelo was unable to move at once.

"It's no use!" Michelangelo dissipated once more, but unfortunately this time, it didn't go as he had hoped, the golden light he had transformed into was actually all sucked in by the black box on the ground.

"No! What is this! Ah!" With a miserable scream, Michelangelo quickly lost his voice and the black box on the ground turned off its blue glow and returned to peace.

"It's easier than I thought!" Howard stepped forward and picked up the black box, "Now, there's one last thing to do!"

....
