Days and Weeks pass and November ended. The Weather outside of the Castle became colder and colder and the days got darker. Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow. The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrell around, bouncing off the back of his turban. 'These Madmen.' Thought Matthew as he watched the spectacle. 'No wonder that Voldemort personally targetted them during the Battle of Hogwarts and one of them ends up dead while the other loses his ear. But they have my respect. If they knew, they could proudly proclaim that they even pranked Voldemort which definitely let them surpass the Marauders.'
The few owls that managed to battle their way through the stormy sky to deliver mail had to be nursed back to health by Hagrid before they could fly off again. It was the weekend once again a week before the Christmas or Yule Holidays started and Matthew was on his way to the Room of Requirements. He felt something inside him was about to change. He continued with his exploration and research of the Fire Element and progressed by leaps and bounds in this branch of elemental magic. In theory, he may know even more fire spells than Voldemort or Dumbledore, they probably reached the fourth level in elemental magic through their sheer experience and wide range of many different spells.
Matthew on the other hand began to explicitly improve this branch of magic by exploring the element of fire. He felt he reached the peak of the third level a while ago since he started to master new fire spells by casting them silently and with minimal movement of his hands and wand after very few tries.
Over the course of the last few weeks, he developed a multitude of different fire-based spells and mastered them. There were useless spells or spells he just didn't find a use yet, since you never know, like colored or even multicolored fire, harmless fire, cold fire, and many more. Or entertaining Spells like different fireworks that he could even enchant into objects like the Weasley Twins would do in the future for their shop, he absolutely should approach them soon and suggest a cooperation between them since their store would become a good source of money.
He also developed more Spells with a useful application in battle, like a fire-based cutting curse that doesn't only cut but also applies burns. Different kinds of projectile-based spells like a barrage of fire arrows, daggers, or swords. And different kinds of burning fire barriers that conjure a wall of fire on the ground which is useful to split up groups of different enemies and limit their movement. Then he also created some more battle spells with a rather limited usefulness like a fire breath similar to a dragon, but why would he breathe fire if he just can cast it from his wand or hands, or a fire fist which is also useless since he doesn't really go into close combat, but who knows if there is an opportunity why not beating the shit out of Death Eaters, they at least deserve it.
A branch of fire magic Matthew put a lot of effort into was metalworking, since it was a skill that could become very useful in the future. If he ever needs to start a business in the non-magical world he would be able to make a lot of money in the metal industry be it automobiles, machines, weapons, or anything else. Metalworking was an essential part of the nonmagical world and being cheap and efficient would earn someone a ton of cash. Matthew first developed a welding charm that after mastering the spell allowed him to weld to pieces of metal instantly and perfectly together, so perfect that he even needed to practice to do it worse since it could cause suspicion in the non-magical world. Then he developed further spells to melt Metal, hardening it, and so on.
Inside the Room, he began to mentally communicate with Sarah, 'What is the matter Sarah?' he asked the AI Chip.
[Beep! The ongoing Analysis of hosts Status showed that the Host is approaching the threshold in fire magic. All that is missing is one last push to enter the fourth level in fire elemental magic.]
'Hmm, so I only need to learn one last fire spell to reach the fourth level. Well, I have just the Spell that I didn't try yet. With my perfect magic control and deep understanding of magic and fire spells, I should be able to control fiendfyre.' Decided Matthew as he thought about the possible spells he could try to learn to reach the fourth level. 'Fiendfyre absolutely should allow me to reach the next level. With the help of Chaos Runes, I should be able to create powerful safety measures to prevent the Spell from destroying the Room or the Castle or even worse me if lose control.'
After wishing for an appropriate space inside the Room of Requirement, Matthew got a wide empty area with a magical barrier protecting the walls of the Room of Requirements. He began to carve further runes on the ground to create more barriers and formations to extinguish the most destructive Spells in all of the Harry Potter books and movies, fiendfyre. He also added some concealment rune wards so Dumbledore and the other teachers wouldn't be able to sense the Dark Magic of the Curse. If he successfully managed to cast Fiendfyre he would be always able to destroy Horcruxes and would gain a powerful Spell during Battle.
Once Matthew was sure that everything was working he stepped into the formation and raised his wand targetting the center. "Anhillio Ignis!" he shouted as a dark red fire left the tip of his wand with a roaring and billowing noise as it quickly spread inside the barrier he created with the Chaos Runes. The flames were abnormally large and take the shape of fiery monsters and beasts such as snakes, dragons, eagles, and chimeras, constantly mutating into other beasts as well as powerful, formless flames that destroy all things around itself. With all his willpower and experience Matthew tried to subdue the flames and guide them in the directions he wanted. For a moment it looked as if the flames would try to pounce on him but then they began to follow his command, which made Matthew breathe out a sigh in relief. After he felt something inside him begin to change he gained a new form of understanding over the fire he extinguished the flames with the appropriate counterspell. "Anhillio finite!" Under his control, the flames began to burn out and only left dark scorch marks on the floor which the room was able to fix instantly.
[Beep! Congratulations Host you reached the fourth level of fire magic. Your understanding of the fire element reached one percent.]
'One percent? It seems I still gave a long path before me. What kind of level may have Dumbledore and Voldemort reached?' wondered Matthew as he comprehended the changes inside himself. He gained a unique feeling and comprehension over fire different from his magic casting before. 'Sarah let's name it the law of Fire or Fire Law and keep the naming sense for all similar Laws. It seems to be an appropriate name.' Decided Matthew as he thought about the Cultivation Novels he took this idea from.
[Confirmed. Hosts Comprehension of the Law of Fire: 1%]
'Let's try it out.' Thought Matthew as he raised his hand and a Golfball sized Fireball appeared above the Palm of his hand. 'Cool. But it seems without a proper Spell the Size is still limited.' He willed the fireball from his hand and it shot against the Barrier. Next, he once again tried to cast different fire Spells. It was much easier for him to cast them than before and he even could still control them after he fired them off.
On his way back to the Ravenclaw Common Room Matthew was deep in thoughts. He finally reached the fourth level in a branch of magic. But he was still away from the level of Wizards like Voldemort or Dumbledore since they had greater control over Fire than a small fireball and over multiple elements. He wondered how much of the laws of fire they comprehended and what would happen once 100% was reached. Was there a fifth level?
