Hogsmeade 2

After finishing shopping for sweets in the Honeydukes Sweets shop, which by the way also had an entrance for a secret passage into Hogwarts, the four friends decided to check out Zonko's Joke Shop next. The Joke Shop was one of the most favorite places for Hogwart's Students, it was a shop that could proudly advertise 'jokes and tricks to fulfill even Fred and George Weasley's wildest dreams.'

And like it was to be expected some of the current Visitors of the Shop were the Weasley Twins who currently were browsing the Joke Products with their friend Lee Jordan. As he saw the Twins he remembered he still needed to get revenge for the Prank they pulled on him a few weeks ago, so he began to also browse for some inspiration. Some of the products currently in stock were things like Dungbombs, Hiccough Sweets, Frog Spawn Soap, Sugar Quills, and Nose-Biting Teacups. But nothing of hat caught Matthew's interest since they were too basic to prank such distinguished pranking masters like the Weasley Twins who would spot such pranks miles away. In the end, he decided it was better for him to create a prank himself.

His friends bought some pranking stuff in the shop, after they paid they left the colorful store and continued on. After a while of further exploring and shop browsing, they arrived at the end of the Village on the path that lead to the Shrieking Shack.

The Shrieking Shack was an abandoned house in the outskirts of the village of Hogsmeade. It was believed to be the most haunted house in all of Britain. The Villagers thought it was haunted because they often heard screams coming from inside a few years ago. Matthew heard from the Hogwarts Ghosts that even them didn't dare to enter it.

From the outside, it looked like a very rundown and abandoned house with the windows and doors boarded up. The wood was very dirty and old, and it looked like there was no actual entrance into the shack from the outside.

Since Matthew knew the truth about the Shrieking Shack, that it was, in reality, Remus Lupin in his Werewolf form who howled in there during full moons and caused the Villagers to develop these rumors and Dumbledore just supported the rumors around the building since they would assist in covering up the truth, he wasn't really impressed of the building. It also wasn't a suitable location for his darker experiments since the only entrance was through the tunnel under the whomping Willow since the shack didn't have any working doors or windows to keep the Werewolves inside. Every time dodging the branches of a tree that tries to kill you was a stupid way to enter a secret laboratory since this would definitely cause some attention.

But he still was able to scare his friends with the haunted background info of the Shack for his personal amusement. Matthew and his three a bit scared friends left the Shrieking Shack and decided to get something to eat and drink in the Village. The first location they found was a small tea shop located on a side road off the High Street in Hogsmeade Village.

They took a quick look into the shop. The decoration was very tacky, frilly, covered with bows, and cramped. The windows steamed up and the gaudy tables and chairs were all claimed by teenagers holding hands or kissing over cups of tea and coffee. A bell over the door announced customers in a tuneful tinkle; the round tables were decorated with lacy napkins and china sugar bowls and cramped up the small shop. There were a lot of couples inside who were kissing and cuddling.

One look was enough for them to quickly close the Door again and move away, "Let's look for something else. I don't think this is the right shop for us!" said Matthew as he looked at the sign at the front of the Shop. 'Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. Obviously, the first shop with food and drink we come across was this one.' Complained Matthew mentally as his friends agreed with him and they continued on.

After a few minutes, they arrived in front of a welcoming and rustical Pub with a wooden storefront. It was the Three Broomstick the most popular inn and pub in the all-wizarding village of Hogsmeade, which was often frequented by students from the neighboring Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The inn was often warm, crowded, and a bit smoky, but clean and welcoming. They entered the warm pub owned by madame Rosmerta a curvy sort of woman with a pretty face. No wonder many Hogwarts pupils had a secret crush on her. The Pub itself probably fought with the Leaky Cauldron for the title of the oldest Pub in Britain.

A mirror behind the bar reflected the cozy atmosphere, and popular drinks such as Butterbeer and Firewhisky were served in glasses and in foaming pewter tankards, as well as gilly water, Mulled Mead, red currant rum, and even cherry syrup and soda with ice and an umbrella. Matthew and his friends got some Butterbeer and a small meal from Madame Rosmerta and enjoyed the nice atmosphere of the Pub.

There were lots of Hogwart's Students who enjoyed the Pub and the nice and warm atmosphere. This was most likely the time the Three Broomsticks made the post profit with all of the Students visiting the Village. After enjoying their beverage and recovering a bit the group of friends continued on with their shopping. For the rest of the Day, they would visit the shops that caught their eyes and also restock some of their school necessities that they become short on.

As the sky outside became darker they returned to the Castle and joined the rest of the School for Dinner after informing Professor McGonagall of their return. After Dinner Matthew visited the golden trio in the Library and left them some of the sweets from Honeydukes before leaving them in the Library since they were still deeply distracted by their research on Nicholas Flamel. Since they still didn't really ask him he didn't help them, since it was a good way to not disrupt the timeline. Soon it was Christmas and Harry would get Death's Invisibility Cloak. An artifact Matthew had a deep interest in since it could be something that gave him more clues about higher beings in this world. But he would need to be careful about Dumbledore since he Hundert percent kept an eye on Harry and the cloak.

Afterward, he returned to the Ravenclaw Tower where he looked for Cho. She was currently doing her Homework in one Corner of the Common Room. He joined her and gifted her the Sweets he brought for her and joined her in doing their homework. He spent the rest of the Day with Cho, after they finished their Homework they chatted for the rest of the evening chatting. When it became dark outside Matthew retired to his Dorm and fell asleep for the night since the day was very exhausting for him, they wandered through the whole village and explored Hogsmeade, this much movement made him quickly close his eye.
