FACE IT OR LEAVE IT

Suddenly a knock on the door broke the silence that felt throughout the room. Edo's shout was like a magic which is reverberate and suddenly the door opened.

"Come in, Mrs. Nany." Edo replied without taking his eyes off Erika.

Erika's boss came inside while nodding her head at the real Boss. Immediately, Erika stood up to greet the woman who had been her boss for these six years.

"Erika, you'd already met with our boss?"

Erika glanced briefly at Edo. "Y-Yeah, that's right ma'am." She answered nervously feeling the man was watching her.

"Forgive me for not warning you earlier." Regretted the middle-aged woman as she shook hands with the Boss and sat down next to Erika. "Hope you're not too surprised." Said the woman smiled at her.

Once again, Erika felt like she was being watched. She also braved to look back at Edo who was actually amazed by the eyes that sparkled seductively from the man. "N-No, I don't, Ma'am. It's not really, Ma'am." Answered Erika tried to smile, but seemed that her smile very forced.

"I am sorry, sir. There is not much preparation that I can do to welcome your sudden arrival." The middle-aged woman I said to her boss by turning her body.

"It's okay Mrs. Nany. I know the risk of this unexpected arrival-----" Edo deliberately hung his last sentence which was especially meant for Erika. "Actually, I am happy that you and all the employees are here running the business well and running as expected. "He added smiling broadly with his gaze which is not separated from Erika.

"Thank you, sir. All of this cannot be separated from hard work of our export-import manager, Erika Kumala." The middle-aged woman is said towards Erika while smiling proudly.

"I know. I can see that."

"What do you think of her?"

"Amazing-----" Edo said deliberately emphasizing his words to see Erika's reaction. He smiled with satisfaction when he saw the manager looking so shocked that her eyeballs almost popped out. "I can feel how highly competent our manager is." Add the man was deliberately teasing Erika. "In fact, I see the enormous contribution shown by our manager especially in treating our clients."

Erika, who received praise from the two important people in the room, became awkward. "Thank you." She said softly. "I'm just doing my job as I should." She said while laughing nervously.

"One of them is getting a new contract with a long term."

"Is that true? You haven't told me about that yet."

"Ah, right… Sorry, ma'am. Actually I will tell you soon-----"

"I can't wait to tell you the good news." Cut Edo. "I got the good news directly from the owner of PT. GRF, right before you entered this room." Clear the man seemed to have read the question in Erika's mind.

"Very well, Erika. We are succeeding to get their imports."

"That's right ma'am. This is all thanks to the hard work of our team that is able to show our quality."

"I'm Happy for both of you."

"Thank you, sir." They both answered at the same time.

They smiled together. The Boss is no exception. Erika's boss looked at the watch on her hand. "Excuse me sir. I don't think that I can continue this meeting." Regret the middle-aged woman while look at Edo."

"What is it?"

"I have a meeting with one of our priority clients, sir. And, the meeting was held in Kudus this afternoon."

"Don't let me prevent your way."

Anxiety feeling began to surround Erika. She felt uncomfortable if she had to be alone with her Boss in his room. Therefore, she tried her luck this time, "Can I help you, Ma'am?"

"Oh, no need Erika. It's just an ordinary meeting."

"What if I just represent you to Kudus?"

The middle-aged woman's gaze was fixed on Erika with a probing gaze. "You're very busy today, don't you?"

"Y-Yes, that's right…But I can still monitor all my work through my cell phone or personal email, Ma'am." Said Erika tried to convince her boss. She felt her face suddenly heat up. She was sure Edo was watching her with his sharp gaze like a hungry lion. Erika tried to turn her face towards the man. And just as she had expected, the Boss's gaze with raised eyebrows was bothering her. It was obvious that the man was mocking what she did.

"I don't think it's necessary. You just need to accompany and help Mr. Edo if he needs anything."

"I think it would be better if-----"

"You are right, Mrs. Nany. It would be more efficient if you were to attend the meeting by yourself." Cut Edo open his voice, finally. "Especially, if you've agreed to attend, right?" He added to the middle-aged woman, but his eyes fell on Erika.

"That's right, sir."

"Make a big profit for this company."

"Okay sir. I'll do my best. And, I'm sorry."

The middle-aged woman shuffled from her seat and stood up. She extended her hand to Edo as a farewell to that day. Erika is seen standing up and walking towards her boss. Before walking out of the room, the middle-aged woman took Erika to walk towards the exit.

"Did something happen in both of you?"

"No. Nothing happens, Ma'am."

"But you look uncomfortable."

"I'm fine, Ma'am."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am"

"Then I leave our office and Big Boss to you." The middle-aged woman is said by smiling. "I know, I can count on you." She added before opening the exit door knob. Turning around and saying good bye at the last time for today, the woman left and disappeared behind the closed door.

Erika tried to take a deep breath and let it out through her nose to ease the nervousness and anxiety that was running through her body. She has done her job well so far. And, that was her greatest ambition.
