As Cassie shut the door , she was startled to see Fay behind her. She was in her pink PJ's and her hair was ruffled. Her glance went to the couch. There were bottles of Soda and an empty box of pizza from Domino's . The Tv was still on but the volume had been reduced as it was already past eleven.
"Its past your curfew." She scowled.
"Sorry MOM." Cassie responded in a mocking tone. "I promise I will not be late next time"
"For real Cassie , Where the hell where you?" Fay said in an accusatory tone as her friend took off her heels and dropped them on the floor. "I was up for hours waiting for you to come home. I even got that scary horror movie you liked so we could watch it together."
"I know. I know." Cassie replied apologetically as she went into the bathroom and took a quick shower . She bound up her hair up in a neat ponytail and she put on an oversized t-shirt with some shorts. Taking hold of a half finished bottle of Soda , She jumped in bed and took a huge gulp, turning over the events of earlier in her mind. "I was just busy."
"What could keep you so busy that would make you come home by 2:46pm?!" Fay queried incredulously.
"Well if i said having S** with the hottest member of the Unbreakables would you believe me then?" Cassie grinned as she switched off the television.
Fay sat on the bed and grabbed a pillow to cushion her body. "No way! " She said squealed in a girlish way. "You went to base with Blaze?"
Cassie slurped her drink for a long time before answering the directed question. "Well not exactly."
The blonde raised her eyebrows in confusion. "Okay . So you DIDN'T go to base with Blaze." When Cassie nodded , Fay sighed. "You froze up didn't you?"
Cassie nodded again.
"Cassie what is wrong with you ? You see the chance to make out with a guy like that , You take it girl." Her friend said hitting her with the pillow she was holding while Cassie shrank away to avoid the hit. "And worse you are never going to see him again."
"Well actually..."
"Actually what?" Fay looked at her in curiosity. "You have to tell me... BFF code."
"He asked for my number."
"What?" Fay looked at her in astonishment and then put herself in order as she gave Cassie a disapproving glare. "So you ditched me to hang out with some random guy at a concert you didn't even want to go to? So that's why you wanted to stay behind? To F*** some singer?"
"Even if I did , that is none of your business." Cassie said bracing up , matching her to be of hostility. "I had no idea that you were waiting up for me and may be if you did let me know , I would have come back home early!"
Fay unable to take it anymore fired back with spite. "So you've been putting on this good girl show huh? Now you've finally found a guy you've forgotten all about your 'principles' ." She did air quotes at the last word. "What did he tell you, You're special, one in a million? cos I don't want to burst your little bubble , he goes on tours world wide, sees more than a million of girls and lays half of them."
"You are full of shit Fay." Cassie cursed and moved in the direction of her room. "I can't deal with you right now."
"Fine with me. Don't come crying when he ditches you." Fay shouted and banged her door.
As Cassie lay back on her bed , She wondered why Fay would be so unsupportive of her involvement with Blaze or rather a boy she just met. Perhaps she was right and was just looking out for her, She reasoned. He was a player and a bad boy probably with a million of other girlfriends in all the parts of the world . But she was Cassandra Hicks. She wasn't like any other girl and was ready to give it a shot. Blaze seemed nice and she was sure it wouldn't hurt to get to know him.
She took up her phone and set it on vibration. That way she would surely hear it when Blaze reached out to her. Heading to her playlist, She turned on some sweet tunes , returned the phone to her beside table. It was playing 'A Hard Day's Night' and Cassie closed her eyes listening to the beat of the music as her mind wandered off into dream land.
