Nervous

“What’s wrong with you two?” he saw them looking like they lost a dear one.

Jack got up and went back to his office.

Is he working here now?” Zack ask Alex but looked at Jack as he walked out.

“Yes, I promised him and so that’s the least I can do for him.

“Hmm, but you don’t look okay to me.”

Alex looked at Zack, he leans forward as if afraid to speak out loud.

“I’m in deep shit, and I don’t have any idea how to come out” Zack only blink at him.

Please don’t judge me, but I have to tell you this, I’m still seeing Evelyn”

Hmm, I know that” Zack said without blinking an eye.

You do! Shit, you may think that I’m an asshole,” he giggle and stood up from his sit to where Zack was sitting.

“All I wanted to do was go in and out, but now what? She’s forcing me to marry her”

“Hmm, then marry her,” Zack said.

“What! You want me to marry her? What about Sandra?”

“Did you think about Sandra before sleeping with Evelyn?” Zack ask and Alex thought he was beginning to sound like his father again.

“Look, is not something you think…, you just do it, we’ve been doing it ever since, she’s not different from other girls,” Alex said paranoid.

Hmm, okay, then do it the way you use to do it” Zack said and gets up to leave but Alex held him down.

“Please don’t go, help me, what do you do”

“I’m not a love expert, I don’t know what to tell you, ask your friend, Jack”

“You know I’m not talking about love here, so please help me stop Evelyn, I don’t  want Sandra leaving me again.”

“Okay,” that was all he said and left Alex alone.

“Okay! Is that all he would say?” Alex asks but to no particular person, he’s the only one in the office.

Alex was close to work and went home but he was worried, he check his phone constantly butting it in silence.

“Why do you look worried?” Sandra asked her husband pulling him by the hand and he followed her faking a smile.

“I’m not worried, you are happy so I’m happy,” he said and pinch her cheeks.

“Lilian will be going to school” she announced to him.

“Really?” Alex didn’t even know that his daughter has come of age and that she need to be in school.

Oh. Sorry, forgive me, us my fault” he hit his head repeatedly.

“Is okay, I know you so business”

“What do you want? How much do you need?” he rushed into the room, brought out his cheque, and gave her a huge sum of money,

“If that is not enough just tell me, I will  double that”

“Is okay, this is too much,” Sandra said looking at the check, and then at Alex, he was shaking as he writes the cheque.

Sandra knew in an instant that something is wrong with Alex, why is he so nervous?
