Mommy is Here

Once she got farther away, Tang Shi Yi finally stopped.

She swept her gaze around the area and finally heaved in relief when she could not see anyone following her around.

Half of her body was leaning on the wall while one of her hands was placed on her chest. Tang Shi Yi could feel the beating of her heart. She did not know whether it was from running around or was it because she had seen Ye Heng earlier.

She really did not expect that she would be seeing Ye Heng face to face.

A helpless smile appeared on her face.

Years have passed since the last time she saw Ye Heng. This meeting was an unexpected one. Tang Shi Yi wondered just what was going through Ye Heng's mind when he saw her.

He remembered her.

But then, Tang Shi Yi wondered if Ye Heng was angry. After all, she was the one who had chosen to disappear years ago.

Back then, did Ye Heng look for her?

A faint sigh escaped her.

Now that Ye Heng knew that she was in Y City, would he come to look for her again? How was she supposed to answer when he asked the reason for her disappearance?

Tang Shi Yi tightened her hand into a fist. 

When the time came, how was she going to answer him?

The ringing on her phone snapped her out of her trance. Tang Shi Yi took out her phone. Her movement halted when she saw the name on her phone screen.

She swiped her finger on the screen and pressed the phone to her ear. "Mom? What's wrong?" Her brow furrowed. Her heart was beating fast. Tang Shi Yi could have sworn that she could hear the sound of a child crying by her mother's side.

Subconsciously, Gu Xin Ye gripped her phone a little tightly. 

"Shi Yi, you should come over to the hospital now," Mother Tang spoke anxiously. "Xiao Xiao has been looking for you. She won't stop crying. I just don't know what else to do now."

"Mom. I'll head over to the hospital now," Tang Shi Yi said. "You should try to coax Xiao Xiao first."

"I know," Mother Tang spoke. "Shi Yi, don't rush. Mom is here to look after Xiao Xiao."

After saying a few more words to her mother, Tang Shi Yi quickly hung up the phone. She headed to the entrance and called a cab. Tang Shi Yi did not forget to give Yin Yi Bo a phone call to tell him that she would be coming home a little later.

Fortunately, Yin Yi Bo did not mind looking after Tang Chen for a little longer.

At this time, the matter about Ye Heng was thrown at the back of her mind.

The house was dark the moment Ye Heng entered the house. A helpless smile appeared on his face, knowing that his parents were already asleep.

Ye Heng walked passed by Ye Qing Luo's room to check if she had returned home. Seeing the light under her door made him smile. He could hear his sister's voice talking to someone. Ye Heng guessed that his sister should be on the phone with someone.

As he entered his room, Ye Heng tossed his jacket on the sofa on his left side. He walked over to the bed and slumped on the mattress.

His thought drifted to a face that he had seen at the hotel earlier. 

Tang Shi Yi... how long has he not seen her? 

Ye Heng had always wondered where Tang Shi Yi had disappeared. Unexpectedly, he would meet her at the hotel that day.

He hoped that he could catch up with her. There are a lot of questions that Ye Heng wanted to ask Tang Shi Yi. However, it seemed that Tang Shi Yi had an emergency and he could not talk to her as much as he would want to.

Was that true?

Or could it be that Tang Shi Yi was avoiding him?

But then again, why would she do something like that?

There was no reason for Tang Shi Yi to avoid him. Was there...?

Ye Heng took out his phone from her pocket and searched for Tang Shi Yi's name on the internet.

A lot of results came out, but none of the Tang Shi Yi in his search results was the person he was searching for. It seemed as if he could not find any trace of her. Ye Heng did not know what Tang Shi Yi had done after leaving the university.

However, he now knows that Tang Shi Yi was working with A-Link.

Should he go over and look for her?

A cab pulled over in front of the hospital's building. 

Tang Shi Yi paid for her fare and got out of the cab in a hurry. 

A lot of people would turn to look at her. After all, it was strange for someone to show up in a pretty evening gown in the hospital. 

Tang Shi Yi headed to the pediatrician ward immediately. 

The visiting hours had ended long ago. However, the guards did not stop her as Tang Shi Yi was a familiar face.

It did not take Tang Shi Yi a long time to arrive at the wardroom. 

A breath of relief escaped her when she could no longer hear the cry. 

Tang Shi Yi inhaled a few deep breaths to calm down. Then, she pushed the door open and entered the room. She walked to the bed and saw that her mother was hugging the little girl on the bed.

"Mom." Tang Shi Yi whispered, not wanting to disturb the little girl if she was asleep. "Xiao Xiao..."

She did not get to finish the question she wanted to ask. 

The little head in her mother's embrace suddenly popped up. Then, a pair of teary eyes were staring back at her.

"Mommy!" The little girl let go of her grandmother's arms and turned to her mother. The tears that had stopped earlier streamed down her cheek once again. 

Seeing the little girl, Tang Shi Yi hurried over to her side and hugged her tightly. "Alright. Don't cry. Mommy is here."
