What a Coincidence

Tang Shi Yi held the little girl tightly, trying to coax her. Seeing that the little girl was unable to stop sobbing. Tang Shi Yi was getting anxious. 

It wouldn't be good if Xiao Xiao continued to cry with her condition.

Tang Shi Yi turned to her mother, wanting to know what was the reason her daughter was crying. 

However, Mother Tang could only shake her head. She did not know what happened.

"Xiao Xiao was just sleeping soundly," Mother Tang said. "I'm not sure what happened. But Xiao Xiao woke up crying." She felt a bit guilty upon seeing the evening dress on her daughter's body. "Shi Yi, I'm sorry. Were you working?"

"There's a company's event. But Mom, you don't have to worry. The was ending when you called."

It was only then that Mother Tang felt a bit more at ease.

Tang Shi Yi lowered her head and looked at the crying girl. "Xiao Xiao, why don't you tell me why you are crying? Xiao Xiao, watching you cry made me sad as well. If you won't stop, then Mommy is going to cry as well."

It was then that Tang Xiao started to react. 

The little girl held the front of her mother's dress and rose. She studied her mother's face as if to see if her mother would cry.

Tang Xiao stretched her chubby hands and touched her mother's cheek. "Mommy, you are not allowed to cry."

"Then, Xiao Xiao should not cry as well." Tang Shi Yi pulled a face, pretending as if she was going to shed a tear in any second.

"But, Mommy," The little girl paused to sob. "You're an adult. An adult shouldn't be crying." She stroked her thumb under her mother's eyes as if to wipe the tears on her mother's face.

The look on Tang Shi Yi's face turned gentler.

She caressed her daughter's head a few times and smiled. Her daughter was too adorable and caring. Seeing that Xiao Xiao had stopped crying made Tang Shi Yi feel more at ease.

She kissed the little girl's cheek a few times until the little girl started to smile.

A breath of relief escaped her. 

"Shi Yi, let Xiao Xiao drink a little bit of water. She had cried so much. She should be thirsty."

Tang Shi Yi turned to see that her mother was holding a glass of water. "Thank you, Mom." She helped her daughter to take a few sips of water before placing the glass back on the table.

With a wet towel, Tang Shi Yi wiped the tears and snot off her daughter's face. Her movement was cautious.

Xiao Xiao's skin was too soft. She couldn't be too harsh with the little girl's skin. Seeing Xiao Xiao's reddened eyes and nose already caused pain to her heart.

Once everything was done, Tang Shi Yi tossed the wet towel aside. She held her daughter in her arms and watched her face for a while. "Xiao Xiao, can you tell Mommy why you were crying?" Tang Shi Yi pushed a few hairs off her daughter's face. "Did you have a nightmare?"

Tang Xiao looked at her mother. She opened her mouth to speak but paused when she saw that her grandmother was around. 

Mother Tang immediately understood the look on her granddaughter's face.

She grabbed the thermos on the side table and shook it lightly. "It looks like we almost ran out of hot water. Shi Yi, you should stay with Xiao Xiao. I'll go and refill this bottle really quickly."

Tang Shi Yi heaved a helpless sigh. "Mom, thank you."

Mother Tang shook her head. She glanced at her granddaughter one more time before leaving the wardroom. 

Tang Shi Yi looked at her daughter again. Seeing the embarrassed look on her daughter's face made her wonder what it was that her daughter wanted to tell her. 

"Xiao Xiao?"

Tang Xiao snuggled closer into her mother's embrace. "Mommy, it's not really a nightmare."

"Then, what is it?"

Tang Xiao pursed her lips. There was a long silence in the room before she finally dared to speak. "I had a dream about Daddy."

"Huh?" Tang Shi Yi looked at her daughter in surprise. 

Her head went blank. For a while, Tang Shi Yi suspected that she had misheard her daughter's words. 

Daddy...

Her little daughter had a dream about her Daddy.

What a coincidence.

It was only a while ago that Tang Shi Yi unexpectedly met Ye Heng at the hotel. And now, her daughter suddenly had a dream about him?

"Mommy, in my dream, Elder Brother and I managed to find Daddy." Tang Xiao held her mother's dress a little tightly. Her nose was a little sore. However, she had to hold back her tears. Otherwise, her mother would cry as well. "But Daddy said that he did not want us."

Tang Shi Yi felt as if something heavy was pressing her chest. She did not know how she should coax her daughter at a time like this.

This was not the first time that her daughter had asked about her father.

Each time, Tang Shi Yi would come up with some excuse to avoid talking about Ye Heng. However, there was just that one time when she could not avoid talking about him.

On that day, Tang Xiao was supposed to have surgery. She wanted to coax her daughter and put her mind at ease. 

Tang Shi Yi ended up saying a bit too much about the children's father. She even showed the little girl an old photo of Ye Heng, telling her that the man in that photo was her father.

Later, when Xiao Xiao asked to see the photo again, Tang Shi Yi told the little girl that she had lost the photo somewhere.

But that moment happened years ago. Xiao Xiao was younger back then. Surely, she would not remember anything about that conversation, right? Moreover, Xiao Xiao did not ask about that photo again.

However, this situation made Tang Shi Yi anxious. 

Her heart was in a mess.

Now that they were in Y City, the chance of her children running into Ye Heng would be higher.

What was she supposed to do if Ye Heng found out about the twin?
