Zhang Bing looked up and a sparkle of confidence quickly passed through his eyes, "Can you come out with me real quick? I have something to tell you."
Elena slightly creased her eyebrows and looked towards Mila. Elena handed the flowers over to Mila and said, "I'll be right back. Can you help me pack my stuff first?"
Mila nodded and left with the flowers.
"Okay!" Elena gave Zhang Bing a subtle smile and walked out of the warehouse with him. The bottom half of the setting sun was hidden behind the mountains, and the sky was lit ablaze by a bold orange and red color.
Zhang Bing walked in the front, leading Elena into an empty alleyway near the warehouse.
"Where are we going?" Elena asked as a scowl began to form on her face. The alleyway was narrow, and only a few piles of dead leaves and trash laid unbothered on the dirty ground.
Zhang Bing came into a stop and turned around to look at Elena.
Elena looked behind her, checking the distance between her location and opening of the alleyway.
"Zhang Bing, why did you take me here?"
Zhang Bing sensed the nervousness in Elena's tone, and he took one step closer to her.
"Don't be scared, I'm not a bad guy."
Elena laughed and put her hands behind her back, "I have a dinner appointment later, so you can be straightforward. I won't judge you."
Elena tilted her head to the side and looked up at Zhang Bing with sparkling eyes. She was able to feel comfortable around him, and she didn't think he would harm her.
Elena wanted to look her best for the last dinner with Lu Chenjun, so she had to go home quickly to get ready.
Zhang Bing looked down at the uniquely beautiful girl in front of him, and he suddenly had the courage to tell her.
"Elena, I don't want to ruin our current relationship, but I want you to know my true feelings."
Elena gulped and her heartbeat began speeding up. However, this wasn't from excitement but instead, it was from discomfort. She could guess where this conversation was going.
But how? Elena didn't understand. She only had a few interactions with Zhang Bing, and nothing really sparked in those connections.
Zhang Bing looked down to avoid looking at Elena and he cleared his throat.
"I still remember the first time I saw you on the first day of filming. Both Director Xin and I were so surprised when we first saw you. You looked so beautiful and. . . innocent!"
Elena scratched her head awkwardly with one hand. Was she innocent?
"At first, I thought you were only pretty and unique. However, as I continued to work with you, I slowly started to develop feelings for you. You're confident, funny, nice, hard-working, and smart."
This was greatly boosting her self-esteem, but Elena couldn't help but feel awkward upon hearing all these compliments that she doesn't think she possesses.
"I was so happy when I saw that I got on the news with you. I wished so badly that what was on the news was true. I really like you, Elena. I truly really like you. Will you. . ."
Zhang Bing suddenly lost his original confidence when he reached this line. He was fine saying it when he was rehearsing his confession. So why couldn't he say it now?!
Zhang Bing knew it was too late to go back now, so he managed to stammer out, "Will you. . . you, be my gi-girlfriend?"
Elena didn't want to, but she couldn't help herself but laugh. She tried to stop, so her laugh turned into a weird coughing sound. Zhang Bing looked up and saw the grin on Elena's face.
After Zhang Bing finished his last line, Elena felt like making a run for it to escape the awkwardness. However, looking at Zhang Bing's face, Elena couldn't help but laugh. He was so cute!
Zhang Bing looked like a little boy confessing to his childhood sweetheart. His nervousness caused him to twiddle with his thumbs and stutter, but this somehow made him undeniably cute.
This confession completely ruined the handsome and sexy image of him in Elena's mind.
Elena originally didn't want to laugh, as she was afraid he would misunderstand her expression. However, when he said the last line, she just couldn't help herself.
And. . . Zhang Bing misunderstood.
He was so excited to see that Elena was smiling that he leaned in for a kiss. Elena was looking down at the ground trying to suppress her laughter, so she didn't see Zhang Bing's face coming closer to her.
She first felt his lips touch hers and her eyes immediately widened. She looked up in shock, and Zhang Bing's huge hands reached back to her waist and her head to pull her in.
Elena completely forgot to react as she stared at Zhang Bing, her hands awkwardly positioned in the air.
The kiss was gentle and slow, and a pleasant taste entered Elena's mouth. After about five seconds, Elena recovered from the shock, and she quickly pushed Zhang Bing away.
She put one hand up to wipe her lips as she said, "What are you doing? That was my first kiss!"
Zhang Bing opened his eyes and apologetically looked at Elena. He thought that she had agreed to his confession because he saw her smile.
He was so happy he impulsively kissed her without thinking.
Elena's breathing was heavy as she held her breath in while kissing. Zhang Bing looked down to hide the smile on his face. He could tell Elena was unhappy, but that didn't stop him from feeling excited about their kiss.
She had a light strawberry taste in her mouth and her lips were extremely soft.
"Sorry, I acted without thinking."
Elena almost smiled again, as he looked like a little kid caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar. However, she was able to control her expression this time.
"It's okay. I'm sorry, but I don't think I can return your feelings. You are an amazing person. . . You're handsome, tall, famous, rich, nice, polite, and everything good! There are so many women out there that would die to be with you, but. . ."
Zhang Bing gulped and he couldn't hide the disappointment on his face. He didn't have high expectations, but it feels really bad to suddenly fall from heaven. He had thought that Elena agreed when she smiled.
"Don't worry about it. It's up to you, so don't feel bad for rejecting me. However, this won't stop me from courting you. It's up to you to agree or not, but it's also up to me to pursue you."
Elena knit her eyebrows together and bit her lips. She didn't want to waste his time.
"Okay. . ." Anyways, after today, they probably won't be seeing each other again. So, it didn't really matter anymore.
"You should go. Don't you have another scene to film."
Zhang Bing nodded, and they walked back into the warehouse together.

Chu Hua crossed her legs as she sat on the couch with a scowl on her face. She had to think of a way to get Lu Chenjun back.
Suddenly, she received a notification from her phone. She frowned when she saw that an unknown number had sent her an image.
She opened it up out of curiosity and her eyes immediately lit up. It was a picture of Jin Yinghui kissing another guy!
However, Chu Hua's smile disappeared a second after it was formed. She studied the phone number but she had no clue who it belonged to.
Chu Hua dialed the number and placed her phone close to her ear, waiting for the sender to pick up.
It didn't take long for the call to go through, and a woman's voice sounded on the other end.
Chu Hua asked, "Who are you?"
"We just met a few days ago and you already forgot who I am?"
