The Adulterous Couple

The name slipped from his lips before he could notice and for a moment Nadia froze, her eyes widening in shock and then in fury.

Her grip on him tightened painfully but Manuel was too lost in his ecstasy to notice.

She clenched her fist tightly, her nails digging into her palm as she fought to keep her anger in check.

"How dare he, how dare he think of that slut , even at a moment like this". Rage and fury flared anew within her .

"Manuel ". She called, her voice devoid of emotions but he still didn't hear her, his breath raged and body trembling from the release as he chanted Yvette's name continuously.

"Fvck Yvette, you're mine . . Mine only".

"Manuel". Nadia called again with gritted teeths , this time much louder and finally she got his attention.

He finally looked up at her, the fog in his mind clearing immediately he saw the anger in her eyes, the tension in her body. Then the realization of his actions dawned upon him and guilt immediately followed.

"I'm sorry Nadia". He muttered apologetically.

Nadia pushed him off her, sitting up and wrapping the robe around herself. She kept quiet for a moment trying to regain her composure.

When she finally turned back to face him, her expression was icy and her voice calm as she held herself with poise.

"It's okay Manuel. Just remember who's here for you now. Yvette is nothing and can offer you nothing. She's out of your life for good and you should be grateful. Just place your focus on the future".

"I understand". He nodded and reached out to touch her but she recoiled from his touch, the sting of his earlier actions still clear in her mind.

"Don't let it happen again". She forced another smile, this time more of a warning .

Meanwhile in the quiet house, Yvette finished her dinner quietly slowly accepting her fate. The deed was already done and there was no need weeping and constituting a nuisance over spilled milk.

She held herself with poise and grabbed her phone which she had tossed away while it was beeping incessantly.

There were several calls she had missed , from close colleagues, her manager Leila, her friends and others.

The first thing she did was to dial Manuel's contact, to have a fresh cut did begins with him but his line rang repeatedly and incessantly without any answer until she could no longer get to him. She checked the news as well but she wasn't making waves as she had assumed, seems like someone had already taken care of it.

Tossing the cellphone on the bed,she opened the door and stepped out of the room after two days of being indoors.

Even the middle aged caretaker Mrs Lawrence was beyond relief to finally see her paddling down the flights of stairs.

"Madam, over here. I just made some light porridge and was about to bring it to you". Mrs Lawrence called out and Yvette walked towards her, settling quietly on the dinning chair.

"You can talk to me Madam, if you want to. I know you might fell it's unfair but life itself is always unfair". Mrs Lawrence began as Yvette scooped the porridge in her mouth slowly.

"But I know you'll enjoy your marriage with Master, believe me. He's a very gentle and caring.. ."

Before she could even complete her sentence, Yvette drove into her embrace crying out her heart once again.

"It's okay to cry, it's okay. What doesn't kills you make you stronger". Mrs Lawrence patted her back encouragingly.

Sniffing in her embrace, Yvette already made up her mind. To accept things as it was, it was her destiny afterall.

The next day started with a shock. Yvette was woken up by the incessant beeping of her cellphone.

"Ugh Leila, why now?. At least let me have this rest".

The phone continued beeping repeatedly and finally she picked it up begrudgingly.

"At least let me have this rest Leila". She complained before Leila could say anything.

"Finally, the runaway bride is willing to pick her calls". Leila joked.

"Why not , when it's the groom on the line". Yvette chuckled as she sat up.

"I see you're in a good condition afterall, now I can be less worried about you".

"Hmm ,not after you disturbed this sleeping beauty".

Then Leila finally remembered why she called. "You still have the guts to sleep, go check the news".

"Okay, hold on". She replied and curiously went ahead to check the day news, judging from Leila's professional tone there was definitely something wrong but when she checked yesterday there was nothing out of the ordinary.

The moment she saw what was on the news, she was stunned and immediately jumped off the bed angrily, slamming her hands on the bedside table.

"Where is Manuel right now?". She asked.

"The office". Leila responded. "And you?".

"Peakwood Estate, I think". She replied, although she was angry the previous day when Ezekiel drove over, she still checked their destination.

"Bah". Leila couldn't help but spit the water she was about to drink in shock. "Peak what?".

"Peakwood Estate, anything the matter?".

"Do you know what Peakwood Estate is, a residence for the filthy and stinky rich. This husband of your's is something, I can't wait to meet him".

Hearing the word husband, Yvette suddenly felt nervous. "Hmm, you'd better come pick me up".

By the time Leila messaged her that she had arrived, Yvette was already bathed and dressed, donning a plain white shirt which complemented her beautiful collar bones and a pink puckerd skirt.

After receiving her message, she dashed outside and Mrs Lawrence who noticed her called out.

"Madam".

"I'll be back in a while". Yvette yelled from the front door.

Leila , a plump and fashionable lady was leaning against a red Ferrari at the estate gate. She gazed at the security despondently but she couldn't blame them afterall not just anyone could enter so she could only wait for Yvette to come to her rescue.

Leila noticing the figure approaching waved her hands and Yvette hopped over.

"Madam". The guards greeted and she nodded in acknowledgement. Just as she was about to enter the car,she noticed Leila who stuck out her tongue playfully at the guards before entering the car and she could only giggle.

The car rolled to a stop a the garage of the huge"Silverscreen Horizons entertainment" building and the duo entered.

The rumors were even more livid and malicious as the company. As the other staffs spotted her, the room was filled with mixed reactions of disgust, hatred, mockery and happiness but the duo pretended not to notice as they marched towards the elevator quietly.

The double door of the office swung open with a bang and Yvette strode in lividly, the anger in her eyes barely concealable. Leila followed closely behind her into the office which wall was lined with awards and framed magazines cover.

Manuel who was seated behind the desk looked up from his documents, his expression impassive and unmoving. He was impeccably dressed in a black tailored suit, his demeanor calm , almost bored as he gazed at her, waiting for the inevitable outburst.

Yvette marched towards him and threw the newspaper report in her hands in front of him. "What the hell is this about?".

She questioned angrily, her voice was sharp, cutting through the room but Manuel remained unbothered, gesturing for her to sit but she remained standing, her posture rigid with anger.

"There's no need for such theatrics Yvette, I just freeze all your jobs for a mere five years. That you should be grateful for".

Yvette scoffed at the absurdity of his words. "Really, then should I go down on my knees and thank you for being magnanimous".

"You still even dare to act all high and mighty now. This little punishment is nothing compared to how you've shamed me before everyone, can I dare walk before anyone with my head raised high". He suddenly grew furious.

Yvette kept still and quiet for a while remembering the day's incident. She did still feel guilty about it.

"And this is what you could do rather than talking things through with me. I know I indeed owe you concerning this incident but I won't sit back and let you punish me unjustly. Even if we never get to be married, at least an employee employee relationship still exist between us. How could you just freeze my jobs based on our personal . ."

"Aye, Aye. Too much noise hurts the ears". Nadia emerged from the office lounge room with only a towel wrapped on her body, barely concealing hee body as it went just few inches below her butts. Her collarbone and chest which were exposed were lined with hickeys.

Manuel's expression grew grim. "Why aren't you resting?".

"I saw we had guests so I came to welcome them along with you". She purred seductively, wrapping herself in his embrace before pulling him in for a kiss.

Yvette staggered backwards and was held by Leila who was just as stunned as she was.

"They aren't . . Cheating on me right . . ."
