Mothers

"What are you doing here?" Liana moved back.

"To see you, love," she said.

"I think you have lost your mind or just want to poison me so I won't be in your way anymore " Liana scowled looking at the food.

"I guess Seul was right, I choose the wrong body again" she laughed.

Liana frowned, "Body? what do you mean?"

"It's me Trini, your mother," she said.

"You? how did you get here and why are you inside this woman," Liana asked.

"I wanted to see you but Tracy wasn't giving me the right chances so I choose this one "

"You decided to choose the woman I hate so much to come to see me " Liana scoffed.

Her mother looked over herself, "Well I know how much you hate her but after I possessed her I realized the hate and love she has for you "

"Hate, yes but Love you wrong there," Liana said.

"You have never asked yourself why they kept tabs on you, haunting and hurting you. She wanted your attention after you decided to leave them behind, she felt her chance of changing things between you both had been lost"

Liana stared at her, "My mother's kind of love hurt me until I hated myself too. So you saying that is changing nothing about the way I feel about them ".

"Yes, they hurt you, even the one you thought was on your side wasn't right from the beginning. He was pretending so he could get what he wanted" she said.

Liana breathed thinking about her brother, the pain started to spread again through her body. She held back her tears and turned away.

"I don't know what I did to him to betray me but I will fix it," she said.

Her mother's hands moved gently holding Liana's, she didn't pull away and looked up at her.

"He did love and care for you during your childhood days but after seeing how all attention was on you but not him he grew angry and hate you. So he kept making plans, especially with your father to hurt you, but you blindly by love for him didn't see it " she said.

"But he was good to me all this time, how could he do that " Liana's tears fell.

"He was just pretending, he had stopped caring for you a long time. He had wanted to finish you but Xavier was there so he held back " her mother said.

"But...but...we grew up together, loved and cared for each other.....h..how could he do that. Everything I had was for him and me I never wanted to make him hate me cause of mom and dad's stalking my life. I didnt even know it hurt him " she cried.

"Am sorry Trini, I know it hurts so let it out " her mother moved to hold her. Liana held on to her not holding back her tears, she cried. "I know her face wasn't a great choice but I wanted you to hear her say sorry for hurting you all these years".

" But I..dont...care " Liana sniffed still crying.

"But I will still say it," she said.

Liana pulled away looking up at her with teary eyes. Her mother held her hands tightly and met her gaze.

"Am saying this as Trinidad's mother who failed to save and defend her daughter and as your mother who hurt and tortured you during the time you needed her" she said, her hands moved to hold Liana's teary face.

"Am sorry for being a poor mother who didn't fight for her daughter when she had to or treated her as a disappointment cause she wasn't what I wanted her to be, am sorry for all the pain my hurtful words caused, the sleepless nights cause you had no one to take care of you or sing you to sleep. Am sorry that we both in the first and this lifetime failed you, dear daughter, am sorry " she cried.

Liana found herself crying more with every word that left her mothers mouth. She could feel the pain and guilt behind her voice as she spoke. She moved to hug her again.

A while later they were pulled apart with eyes swollen and red faces from crying too much.

"I never cried this much even when I was in the underworld 's prison " she laughed through her tears.

Liana chuckled, "You made her face swollen, won't she notice when you leave her body "

"She was present when I said all that, part of what I said was from her, " her mother said.

Liana blinked, her mother smiled "So don't worry about her face, most of the tears were hers, not mine "

She pulled the food to the bed, "Now let's feed you, I might have been caught up in the emotional moment but I did hear your stomach groan "

They both laughed. She sat back letting her mothers feed her.
