Chapter 83

Keenan's POV

As I was waiting for her in her room, her phone churned as she got a message. I knew I wasn't supposed to be going through her phone but out of curiosity and jealousy over her, I wanted to know what or who had texted her. I took her phone and started scrolling through since it had no lock on it. I then realized she had unread messages and decided to check what it was since it was an image message.

I tapped on the picture to reveal its content when I realized what it was. Honestly I was shocked at the sight of what I was seeing on her phone and thankfully, I was happy she had not seen it yet. Quickly , I deleted it, dialed the number on my phone, blocked the number and deleted it so there would be no trace of what I had done. I was so nervous that I couldn't contain myself any longer. I thought everything was a secret and that was the main reason why I was there, to explain matters to her but someone had already made an attempt. I noticed things were no longer going to stay hidden and I had to act faster before things got out of control.

In no time, Ash came back in with just a bottle of water since I requested none and in order to remain calm as usual I tried to start a conversation with her.

"How come you only have a bottle?", I asked rhetorically.

"Are you being serious right now? I thought you said you were okay.", she replied sitting on the bed.

"You could have at least made an attempt to offer me something since I'm your guest ", I continued.

"Well, Mr guest, you said you were okay so I didn't need to bother about anything right?", she eyed me.

"But…"

"You said you wanted to talk to me about something right? What is it?", she cut me off before I could finish whatever word I had formed in my mouth. Just then , a rush of fear and hurt passed through my brains making me shiver. I knew I had to tell her the truth before she hears it from someone else otherwise, there was no way she was going to forgive me no matter what. But then again, I was suspicious of how or whoever sent those pictures to her without my knowledge. How the person even got those pictures and why the person was doing that.

"What are you thinking about?", her voice brought me back to the present I wasn't aware I was out of.

"Me? Oh nothing. I just remembered I had something I needed to get done.", I lied.

"Oh really?", she asked sounding as if she didn't want to believe me.

"Yeah. See you tomorrow ", I said and without waiting for anymore comments from her, I walked out of the room.

It was really hard for me to tell the lady I had fallen in love with the truth about my past ,not to talk of telling her I'm part of the reasons why she had to go through so much trauma for the past months. Without turning back to look if she was behind, I drove off to my house to think things through. I wondered who could be so determined to show those pictures to her. I had to find out and I needed help from Ryder and Ryan since they were good at carrying out secret investigations. I didn't think of Reuben because he has never been good with the idea of us becoming friends. I contacted Ryan to be sure if he was alone before heading to visit him and thankfully, I got a positive response
