Chapter 49: Zhang elder’s gifts and Farming

Bai Yi Yang and her siblings have the same routine the next morning, the sun is also out today, unlike yesterday which looks quite gloomy.

The breakfast is simple fried rice with fried eggs. She saw that their eggs supplied has depleted, they really need to buy some groceries as soon as possible, its just that the kitchen will be in a mess, so it's better to just buy it later.

Just after the siblings finished eating breakfast and cleaning up, Zhang Yong arrived with two people. They are equally young people like him and carry the rich aura. Among the two, one is a young lady with short hair and the other is a tall skinny young man. Bai Yi Yang almost mistaken them as a group of friends going for a university trip because of how they look.

Didn't they agree on Friday, why did he come on Thursday? Well actually they didn't agree to it, she just stated that he can come later. His work must have been settled since he came early. With them, they bought basket and boxes of gifts. The Bai siblings looks a bit alarmed with this, especially Bai Yi Chen.

"Mr.Zhang..you are here." Bai Yi Yang pat Bai Yi Chen on the shoulder to ask him not to worry and come out to greet the guests.

"Oh, so you are here. Quickly invite us inside, this is heavy." Zhang Yong said in a friendly manner, just like the two people behind, his hands is also full. After having a meal at their house, Zhang Yong doesn't treat himself as outsider anymore.

"Then, please come inside." Bai Yi Yang invite them into the living room. She turn on the lamp and fan and open the window to let the air in. The three Bai siblings also follows along but they just observe quietly. Bai Yi Ling is the most indifferent, after sending boiled water and clean glass to the living room, she return to the kitchen.

"We only have boiled water. Have you had breakfast?" Bai Yi Yang asked politely, it was just for the sake of asking.

"Yes we had one before coming here. You see, my grandma almost beat me up after I told her that I was leeching up food from your house." Zhang Yong said as he laugh. Bai Yi Yang smile, he doesn't mind that small amount of food, it's just that Zhang Yong is still a stranger, so she is a bit uncomfortable eating at the same table as him.

"Right. These are the gifts my old grandparents prepared for you siblings, they didn't know what to buy so we just get a bit of a few things." Zhang Fong pointed at the gift baskets and gift boxes on the side.

"Mr.Zhang, this is too much. How can we accept this, it was just a meal." Bai Yi yang said. Don't say that she is ignorant about all these gifts, there are a few kinds, big paper bags from certain clothings brands, colourful stationery gift sets, a custom made cocoa products wooden box from a famous brands, a basket of various fruits, a huge basket with various products that you can find from supermarket and also exquisite cookie boxes that was stack and tied together with ribbon. All of these will not cost less than 1000 yuan, maybe they are much more expensive than that.

"The old people at home received the high quality dried mushrooms you gave me, they like it very much so they prepared all these. They praise me a lot but how can I dare to take the credit, so I just told them the truth." Zhang Yong explain. Bai Yi Yang smile and nod, it was the old people good intentions, the gifts has been bought so just accept it bah. She can just give more if the wanted it later.

"Anyway, you are still calling me Mr.Zhang, Mr.Zhang. This is why they won't believe that I am close to you and accuse me of taking advantage of you siblings." Zhang Yong said. Bai Yi Yang froze, so what does she supposed to called him? This development is a bit fast.

"You all call me big brother. This is my two partner, Hu Yu Guang and Zhang Li Li. You can call them Yu Guang ge and Li Li jie. Got it." Zhang Yong said. Bai Yi Yang nod and greet the two people. This Zhang Li Li is also surname Zhang, no wonder they look a bit alike, must be related.

"Hello. Zhang Yong has told us a bit about you siblings." Zhang Li Li greet them, she smile sweetly especially to the two children. She only look like a tough lady outside but she is actually quite nice.

"Hello Li Li jiejie.." Bai Yi Fang shyly greet back, she hide behind Bai Yi Yang small back. This invite a big smile from Zhang Li Li. Just like Zhang Yong said, these siblings are likeable.

"I have another older brother in the kitchen and the one who send the water is also my younger sister." Bai Yi Yang said.

"I heard he is your twin.." Zhang Li Li ask. Bai Yi Yang was about to answer when Bai Yi Chen came in with Bai Yi Ling.

"Hello, sorry to introduce myself late, I am called Bai Yi Chen." Bai Yi Chen greet politely. He wasn't really comfortable but he still need to be polite.

Zhang Li Li and Hu Yu Guang look at the Bai siblings especially the dragon and phoenix twin, well they didn't look like a copy of each other but still alike, what more Bai Yi Chen is very tall and Bai Yi Yang is quite at the smaller type.

In conclusion, the Bai siblings is quite good looking and very neat, their bright eyes are especially eye catching. They doesn't look like most young children that they saw in this town. Did they originally from the city? Zhang Yong only information was that they are orphans living on their own, they even prepared themselves to see pitiful state of the children. But other than their old clothes, there is no flaws.

"Yi Chen is very capable, he can install roof tiles, I saw him working with the workers before." Zhang Yong praise.

"Then, the doors outside, did you make it?" Hu Yu Guang asked. When they enter the courtyard, he already saw it. Other than unpolished, the craftsmanship is very good.

"My sister is the one who do that." Bai Yi Chen answer. Hu Yu Guang is shocked one more time, these siblings is really capable. No wonder they can hire their shop to make kitchen counters, service that cost more than 10,000 yuan. He suspect that their money is most probably left by their parents. He can't help but feel some sympathy towards the siblings.

They converse with each other for a while before Bai Yi Yang brought them to the kitchen. When they enter the kitchen, they can see that this is just like what Zhang Yong described, a typical traditional kitchen with fireplace, they immediately become serious and device their plan, first they need to demolish the fireplace made with brick. Hu Yu Guang tested the strength and it was quite weak, the most basic cooking place, they can easily remove it.

"First, we also need to move all the things inside the kitchen to outside so it won't get in the way. As for this fridge, just put it aside for now, anyway we are not going to touch this area." Zhang Yong said.

They immediately returned to their car to wear and outer clothes and gloves then protective shoes.

Bai Yi Yang and her siblings started first, Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen carry the dinner table one on each side and the other smaller one help with moving the small things in the kitchen.

When the three people return, they were amazed with the siblings efficiency, they work like a team. They were feeling a bit guilty for letting the children do their work. So with that, the kitchen is immediately cleared up.

The kitchen floor is made of the most basic white tiles, because of long term use of the fireplace, it was also a bit dirty so when they went in, they just wear their shoes. Zhang Yong gave instructions to his partner, Hu Yu Guang was in charge of the old fireplace while he and Zhang Li Li is going to start with making the base of the countertop.

Bai Yi Yang didn't bother with them anymore and return to the Main house. She remind her younger siblings to not enter the kitchen and disturb their works, if they need help only then can they go near.

The two siblings wanted to go play to the village but Bai Yi Yang didn't allowed them, the road is still muddy, let it dry up a bit bah. Tomorrow evening they can already go play.

Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen is going to the farm, so they decided to bring the two smaller one along, if not they may disturb Bai Yi Ling at home. Bai Yi Ling finally decided to arrange her plants to the plant stand today, so she didn't follow the rest to the farm. Bai Yi Yang let her be, it's also better to have someone stay at home. Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen took the necessary tools, then change into work clothes.

"Jie, I want to bring my bicycle!" Bai Yi Mo said. It has been a few days since he cannot play his bicycle. It was safely park under the corridor at the East house.

"You can but after that you need to wash it before bringing it into the house, can you do that?" Bai Yi Yang ask. It is still muddy outside, if the children play the bicycle outside now, it will surely get muddy too.

"What if we leave it outside after playing, anyway it will get muddy again." Bai Yi Mo answer, thinking that his idea is feasible. Bai Yi Fang also nodded at the side.

"Of course you can, but let me remind you, if it is dirty and exposed to the sun, it will get rusty and won't look good anymore, what more, when the chain rusted, it will make sounds like junk. Well, I am just saying, it's all up to you." Bai Yi Yang smile and walk out with Bai Yi Chen.

Bai Yi Mo was conflicted but he ended up leaving the bike and pull Bai Yi Fang to follow their older sister and brother. The three adults in the kitchen who heard this conversation look at each other and smile.

"No wonder the siblings are all sensible. If it were my younger brother, I would have just scold them." Hu Yu Guang said.

"It's not only you who thinks like that." Zhang Li Li said. When she remembers her little siblings, she already feels like gritting her teeth.

"They taught their siblings to take responsibility towards their things. Instead of saying no to this and that, she makes them understand about it. A good parenting skills." Zhang Yong comments.

Bai Yi Yang who is already start loosening the patch didn't know that he everyday conversations with her siblings has been the three adults hot topic.

The children were excited to see the sprout and eagerly wanted to get involved but they soon feel tired and went to rest.

"Jiejie, me and Fang Fang will look for mushrooms." Bai Yi Mo said.

"Just play around where we can see." She said to her siblings, they are looking around the edge of the farm for mushrooms.

Bai Yi Yang told them before that there are a lot of mushrooms after rain, so they went to go look some. Farming is a repetitive action, it's common that they didn't find it fun. Anyway, they are still small, so she can just let them play around.

Bai Yi Yang will make a hole to the ground and Bai Yi Chen plant the seedlings. When they are done with that, half of the vegetables farm are planted with something. Bai Yi Yang ask Bai Yi Chen to take different type of seeds and sow them at the empty patch for seedlings, whereas she proceed with making new patches on the field. Sowing new seeds is not a difficult job, so after that Bi Yi Chen also joined Bai Yi Yang to plow the field.

"It's much more easier to plow the field now, the soil is not hard like before." Bai Yi yang wipe the sweat on her forehead as she said this to her brother. Bai Yi Chen plowing skills has improved a lot but Bai Yi Yang still need to remind him once in a while if he made a crook patch.

"How did you do it so fast? I am out of my breath." Bai Yi Chen said. Not only his work is worse than Bai Yi Yang, it is also way slower.

"I am just used to it now. Ge, you take your time." Bai Yi Yang said then resume her work.
