Chapter 71 - Nick escaped

In the forest.

"Sheryll! Where are you going!?" Nick asked loudly while chasing Sheryll.

Sheryll just kept running without looking back or answering Nick's question. Her perspective sense was still screaming at her to escape, she didn't have the luxury to chat with Nick right now.

Nick frowned in displeasure when he didn't receive an answer.

"Fucking bitch wants to use this chance to escape from my clutches." Nick muttered to himself.

"Humph, I was gonna take it slow with you since I found you attractive but now you have really angered me." Nick shouted and activated the ability of his shoes, 'Wind chaser' which increased his running speed by 8%.

*BANG* *BANG*

Suddenly two gun shots rang and the wooden blisters of the trees flew in the air.

"Fuck, how come these bastards are here, Caldas and other should have easily handled such a small group of pirates." Nick cursed in anger because one bullet almost scrapped his ear.

"Surrender peasants and we will let you live otherwise don't blame us for your deaths." A loud voice came from behind.

Nick and Sheryll ignored the voice and kept running without stopping at all.

Ten or so metres behind Nick were Mongor and his group with enchanted shoes equipped.

A middle aged pirate grunted in dissatisfaction and spoke to Mongor at his side.

"They are faster and slowly distancing themselves from us, our stamina won't keep up either if we keep chasing like this."

"Then what should we do, Molly?" Mongor asked back.

"Shoot them down." Molly replied.

"Didn't you say that we shouldn't shoot since captain wants them alive." Mongor asked with doubt.

"Yeah but if this keeps up, we will lose them soon, although captain wants them alive but if they manage to escape the quest captain gave us won't be completed at all." Molly spoke quickly.

"Anyways you have already killed one of them, it won't matter if two more dies, if captain wants to punish you for killing them it will be same if you killed one or if you killed three. After we go back, all of us will plead captain together with you." Molly spoke again.

Mongor thought for a moment but his simple brain couldn't think of a better solution.

He looked at the figures who were already fifteen metres away from them right now and his eyes became firm.

"Okay, let's do it." Mongor spoke and took out his gun.

"Although we have already decided what we will do if they die but let us still aim for their legs." Mongor spoke to other members who also took out their guns.

"Shoot!" Mongor commanded.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

Five gunshots rang at the same time, as only five people got the perfect view for shooting at the two running figures.

Sheryll who was running in the lead suddenly felt her hair standing on the end, she ducked to her right side quickly and rolled forward with inertia.

Two bullets struck the trees behind her.

But Nick didn't have her ability, although he also felt the danger warning from his perspective sense but it was too late for him to dodge. Two bullets pierced both of his legs while one bullet pierced the back of his skull.

"Fuck! I said aim for the legs dammit!" Mongor shouted when he saw the bullet piercing the head of their Target.

"Mongor, it wasn't our bullet." Molly spoke as he looked at Mongor with complex emotions in his eyes.

"What! Then whose bullet was it!?" Mongor asked angrily as he scanned the pirates and the surroundings.

"It was yours." Molly replied with a sigh.

"M-mine?!" Mongor exclaimed loudly. Other pirates also nodded and looked at Mongor with complex emotions in their eyes and sighed.

"I don't know if you are a god gifted sniper or just an unfortunate bastard." Molly spoke with distressed emotions and sighed.

While they were conversing and making their way towards Nick and Sheryll, a golden light emerged from Nick's body and enveloped Nick's body completely inside itself.

"What's that?!" A pirate asked loudly.

"We will deal with that later, the other person is still escaping, quickly shoot her down!" Molly commanded.

Pirates once again took aim, Mongor also picked up his gun once again and aimed at Sheryll's legs.

'Fuck it, this time I will surely shoot the leg!' Mongor thought in his head and concentrated.

Sheryll suddenly felt a chill run through her whole body, her perspective senses screamed at her to stop and surrender. If she keeps running she will die for sure but if she stops and surrenders then there is still a little bit of hope for her to live.

Sheryll has complete trust in her perspective sense, after all with her perspective sense she has managed to escape all the perils she faced in the nightmare realm till now, although the situation is much more dangerous than all of her previous perils combined but she still decided to do what her perspective sense told her.

Sheryll stopped running quickly and lifted her arms in the air.

"DON'T SHOOT, I SURRENDER!" She shouted loudly so the chasers could know her intention.

Mongor stopped his finger which was pressing the trigger and looked at the figure in confusion.

"Is she tricking us? Why did she suddenly surrender?" Mongor asked Molly in doubt.

"Tricks or not, everything will be solved if we tie her up and bring her to captain, no tricks can work in front of captain." Molly replied.

"Yes, you are right, captain is a god after all." Mongor nodded with a smile.

They quickly appeared behind the golden cover enveloping Nick's body.

"Woman, come here and don't try to play any tricks with us." Mongor ordered loudly.

"Paul Daiman, You two stay 20 steps behind us and keep aiming at her, if she acts suspiciously shoot directly." Molly suddenly looked back and ordered two pirates.

Pirates who were called nodded and quickly moved back while aiming their guns at Sheryll.

Sheryll quickly moved closer to the pirate group and stood in front of them with her hands still in the air.

"Bob, Tie up her hands and legs." Mongor commanded and finally looked inside the golden cover.

Inside the golden cover, Nick could be seen watching all of them with extreme horror in his eyes.

'What the heck is this firing power, all of my health points got consumed with just one shot and these fuckers still shot three times.' Nick thought while looking at the pirates surrounding him.

'If not for this talisman I got in my previous world, I would be dead tight now.' Nick thought once again while stroking his chest in relief.

'But what do I do now? Although as long as this cover exists no one can attack me and depleted health will be rejuvenated to full after a minute but this cover can only last 1 minute and it cannot move. After activation it will disappear in a minute.' Nick thought and tension appeared in his eyes once again.

"This bastard is still alive, Great! Hahahahaha." Mongor laughed loudly when he saw that Nick inside the golden cover didn't fall down and he was actually looking at them.

"Hehe you are lucky, that means we can bring both of them alive to the captain." Molly also smiled happily.

"Shoot this cover, break it down for me!" Mongor ordered with a happy smile.

Except Paul and Damian, who were still aiming at Sheryll, all other pirates took out their guns and opened fire at the golden cover.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

All the bullets banged the cover but they couldn't pierce the golden cover at all.

"Damn it's really hard, keep shooting, I will see how long it can last under the firing." Mongor cursed.

Nick felt all his hair standing from fear as he looked at the dense rain of bullets in front of him.

'Damn it, Only 20 seconds left til it disappears, I have to use it.' Nick thought and looked at Sheryll.

Reluctance and obsession appeared in his eyes but he suppressed them and firmed up his eyes.

"Nightmare realm, I want to use the force return button." He spoke to his nightmare realm.

[ Using Force return button will erase all of your gains in the current World and reduce 20% of your basic attributes. ]

[ Are you sure you want to use Force return? Yes/No ]

Nick' s nightmare imprint rang.

"Fuck, 20% of my attributes, damn it." Nick growled and felt pain in his heart, but when he looked at the time which showed 10 seconds he directly clicked yes.

[ Initiating force return to the nightmare realm. ]

[ Contestant no. 367920 will return to the nightmare realm in 5 seconds. ]

Nick heaved a relieved sigh and looked at the people outside the golden cover.

"I will remember this, you bastards, I swear all of you will die a painful and horrifying death!" Nick shouted with extreme hatred and anger.

"Heh, we will see about that, keep shooting!" Mongor sneered and kept firing at the golden cover.

Nick looked at Sheryll once again with reluctance.

'If only I had attacked her last night, damn it.' with this last thought, Nick disappeared from the world of Pirate of the Caribbean.

Sheryll looked on with shock.

'How did he disappear! He had a teleportation item? But didn't nightmare imprint tell me that such items can only be used in non-combat state then how did Nick use that item while being attacked?' Sheryll thought to herself.

She was still a newbie in the nightmare realm and didn't know about many things.

"What the- how did that bastard disappear?!" Mongor shouted loudly.

Molly stared at sheryll.

"Where did your partner go?" He asked Sheryll.

"I don't know." Sheryll replied.

"You don't know! How come you don't know! Quickly tell me where he is or don't blame me for being cruel!" Mongor also turned to Sheryll and asked with red eyes.

His captain gave him a quest to bring all the attackers of Fokke castle to him, he has already killed one and now if he goes back to his captain with one less attacker how will he face his captain.

"I really don't know where he went or how he disappeared if I knew, wouldn't I have done it too." Sheryll replied.

*Boom*

Mongor punched a tree in anger.

"Dammit!!"

"Calm down mongor, he might still be on Island, we should meet up with the rest of our members and send them to search all around the island to look for him." Molly adviced.

"Yes yes, he can't escape! Quickly move your asses and meet up with rest of the members." Mongor felt his hanging heart go back to his chest after he listened to Molly's words and commanded quickly.

He picked up Sheryll lying on the ground and started running along with the other pirates towards the previous location where they caught other members of Nick's party.

After a short while they appeared at the previous place and saw other pirates surrounding some tied up figures and a corpse.

"Mongor you are back!" A Pirate exclaimed as he saw Mongor and others coming back.

"Listen to me all of you, we don't have any time to waste." Mongor didn't return any pleasantries and spoke directly.

"What happened, Mongor?" Pirates asked in confusion.

"We only caught one escapee, the other one used some mysterious ability and disappeared in thin air, we have to catch him, 30 members will go with Mongor to the castle to bring these people to captain, rest of you will come with me to look for that guy around the port." Molly came forward and explained as quickly as possible.

"Let me go with you all to search for that guy." Mongor spoke to Molly.

"No you have to go back and report to captain, after all you killed one person, captain will deal with you, we will go and bring that guy back." Molly didn't agree with Mongor and spoke.

"I-" Mongor opened his mouth to speak but closed it right after.

"Okay, we will do as you say." Mongor nodded and the group split in two parts once again.

Mongor led the group with contestants towards the castle while Molly led the group to search the island for Nick.

After 20 or so minutes of continuous running they appeared in front of the Fokke family's castle.

Contestants didn't try to escape during this time, as all of them had two pirates looking at them all the time with guns aimed at them.

Mongor stopped in front of the castle, he had been calm till now but after appearing in front of the castle his heart got filled with fear.

"Captain won't really kill me right... Wha-what if he kicked me out of the group." He muttered to himself.

Caldas heard his muttering and a scheme appeared in his mind.

"Hey, you killed one of our members when your captain clearly asked you to bring us back alive, you don't know but the one you killed was actually our leader, he was the most important among us and you killed him, your captain will kill all of you for sure." Caldas opened his mouth and sneered while looking at Mongor.

Mongor's pupils contracted as he heard the words of Caldas.
