Incomplete System in Marvel

A man wakes up in the body of Peter Parker with almost no memories of his previous life. How will he survive in a Marvel Universe that is much more different and dangerous than just the movie universe? A system, of course! But what’s up with this system being in version 0.1 and having almost no features? ------------ Turn off your brain and don't put too much thought into things. I certainly didn't.

Note before starting: I'm switching to Third person POV here for literally no reason other than to experiment if I like it better or if it's easier to write like this. Might switch back later if it doesn't work out well. Let me know your thoughts.

Peter jumped into action as he saw Vulture hit Reed and take him on a flight toward the waters down below the bridge, leaving both The Thing and Susan to plummet downwards right to where the stupid people who, instead of leaving, had decided to take out their phones and record the fight were standing.

A big guy like The Thing falling from such a height and landing even close to a crowd would be disastrous for all parties involved, so Peter let go of the wall he was clinging to and dived down head first. From all the way up in the air, he started shooting webs from both hands, constructing a large net just a little ways above the ground that would hopefully be enough to either catch The Thing or at least slow his speed as he broke through it.

The whole process took just a few seconds, and the safety net got finished long before The Thing had even fallen close to it. When he finally did reach it, though, the net didn't entirely stop him, but thankfully, it did indeed slow him down enough that even though he broke through the webbing, him hitting the ground didn't cause too much damage.

No people were even hurt, luckily enough, though, a few probably got some bruises from the small rocks flying off after the impact.

Seeing the large rock man reach the ground safely, Peter breathed a sigh of relief before looking up to see Susan walking down all on her own, making a staircase out of semi-invisible platforms to descend in a hurry.

Watching her come down, a sudden loud explosion could be heard just a little way down the bridge, and immediately Susan just jumped the rest of the way down with an ugly look on her face. The jet that they had arrived in and evacuated moments earlier crashed on the bridge, leaving a gaping hole behind.

"No… this was a simple robbery of some bank trucks, but now if anyone dies, it will surely be blamed on us." Susan cries out before turning around to look in the opposite direction of the explosion and seeing The Scorpion, a brand new villain to the city of New York, uninterruptedly ripping off the doors of one of the bank trucks and coiling his tail around the neck of the driver to pull him out.

"I hate to ask this of you since you have already helped us here, but…" Susan looks at Peter. "Do you think you could go help the people near the crash site? You will have better luck than us there, especially with Richard out of commission for now. Ben and I will go take care of that reptile guy."

Deep down, Peter wanted to say, "No fuck you, you're not taking away my xp!" but of course, he couldn't. He had to admit that he was indeed a way better choice for helping out anyone at the crash simply due to his mobility in the air and committed himself to speedrun the whole thing in order to get back to the real fight faster.

Giving a quick salute to Susan, he flung off to the crash site to find that the jet had exploded a fairly sizable hole into the bridge. By all means, the people should have long left by now, but a few had the unfortunate luck of either getting stuck in their cars after an accident that occurred due to the robbery that took place short ways in front of them, or they had just panicked and decided it smarter to stay and hide instead of running away.

No sooner than Peter had managed to swing up and attach himself to a support beam to get an overhead view of the crash and spot anyone needing help did he hear a cry for help from right under him.

A woman was just barely holding on to a broken piece of concrete dangling over the edge of the bridge. She looked like she would be out of strength and fall off any second.

Peter jumped off the wall and landed on the bridge itself, just a meter away from where the woman was dangling, and walked toward her, crouching down to peek over the edge.

"Spiderman! Help!" The woman cried out as soon as she spotted Peter, hope apparent in her eyes.

"Where do you live?" Peter asked simply.

"Wha…? Please help me up. I can't hold on for much longer!" The woman called out again, this time much more urgently, as her hands were losing strength.

"Your address," Peter says, not even making an effort to grab her hand or help her up.

"I… 45th avenue 21! Now plea-"

Peter did not let her finish her sentence. "Alright, well, I haven't been there, so I will have to send you a few streets away, have a safe trip." Next, he did something that nearly made the woman in question have a heart attack.

Peter stood up from his crouching position and gently stepped on her fingers to make her let go of her grip. Instead of falling down below to her death, though, the woman suddenly found herself just a few minutes walk away from her home. Looking up, she saw a portal close above her head.

Using the Sling Ring, Peter searched for each survivor needing help and, after getting their addresses, sent them as close to it as he could. On one occasion, he found a car with a family of four inside and teleported them all, along with their car, to the roof of their five-story apartment building.

The whole ordeal took a few good minutes, but once he was confident that the area was clear of all people, Peter felt safe to swing back up and assist the two Fantastic Four members currently battling The Scorpion and, as it soon turned out, The Vulture as well.

Moving toward the four of them, he noticed how things weren't exactly looking favorable for the heroes. For one, Reed was still nowhere to be seen, probably taking a swim somewhere in the cold river underneath, while The Thing was currently on the edge of the bridge, holding onto a bus full of people with all his strength trying to keep it from slipping over the edge.

Susan was essentially left to fend for herself. She had popped up a bubble shield for protection of herself and an injured man down on the ground, but even that was beginning to show cracks as both Scorpion and Vulture went to town on it.

Seeing Peter approaching from the corner of her vision, she immediately signaled her head toward The Thing keeping the bus from falling off the bridge.

Ugh, how self-sacrificial are these people?

Peter shook his head but went toward the bus nonetheless to deal with it. On the way, he attached a web to the back of The Thing and yanked him backward, causing him to rip out the pieces of the bus he was holding on to, letting the bus fall down. One portal later, the bus had disappeared.

It will be a bit of a rough landing for the people inside, but Peter had sent the entire bus to just outside the city, where he was quite certain would be a large clear area. It was even close to another bus station, so if the passengers hadn't developed a phobia of buses, it would be an easy ride back into the city.

The Thing (just gonna call him Ben from now on) had momentarily gotten angry at Peter, thinking he had doomed everyone inside the vehicle with that move of his, but as he saw the bus just disappear like magic decided not to worry about things he didn't understand.

Next order of business: get the experience. The two villains were too focused on getting to Susan to even notice the help arriving.

In the sky, The Vulture might be a formidable enemy even for Peter, but down on the ground,… easy.

Pulling himself forward at high velocity, Peter clung onto the back of Vulture, put his arm around the old man's neck, and started squeezing.

"Fu-ck… He-lp!" The Vulture had stopped attacking the nearly broken bubble shield and started trying to pry off the arm around his neck, calling for help from his ally in between labored breaths.

Being the ever-so-helpful guy, Scorpion had opted to stop attacking Susan to assist Vulture by… thrusting his tail toward both Peter and Vulture. The stinger at the end of his metallic suit went straight through Vulture's shoulder, causing the old man to scream out in pain.

No doubt he was probably aiming for Spiderman, but the thrashing about The Vulture was doing made that incredibly difficult. Honestly, Peter was just happy to have moved out of the way to not also get touched by the poisonous stinger that went straight through his captive's shoulder.

Not letting Scorpion pull back his tail, Peter opted to grab ahold of it with his arms and, kicking himself off of Vulture, delivered a flying kick straight to Scorpion's jaw, sending him, and as they were still attached, The Vulture to the ground lying on top of each other.

A few webs later, the two were secured and had no room to even shuffle about.

Seeing the flurry of notifications, Peter was ecstatic. All the work to max out his first class, and he had finally done it! Not to mention the next system update.

He would check out all the items and new class options later, but for now, he needed to hurry and go to sleep. He closed the system window and prepared to take off when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"I… we all have to thank you, this would have turned out way worse if you weren't here-" Susan said thankfully as Ben standing next to her, just gave a thumbs up and a wide grin.

It looked like Susan was going to keep going with her speech, but unfortunately for her, Peter had other priorities, so he made a quick excuse to cut himself out.

"Ah yeah, I uh have more work to do, so I will see you around the city, hopefully! Bye!" With that, he swung away, not leaving any time for the two to say anything else.

Susan and Ben, however, had seen things in a whole different way.

"Wow! He just finished saving dozens of lives and dealing with two villains basically all by himself, yet he is already hurrying out to do more!" Susan said. Stars could be seen in her eyes as she looked in the direction Peter swung off in.

"A true hero. At least we know everything will be alright the next time we have to leave for a few months." Ben nodded, his tone seeming almost proud of the boy.

Notes: Third Person was a lot easier and quicker for me to write, but I wanna hear what you all think about it. Will probably keep going with this for at least a few more chapters as a test and maybe improve.

Also, we hit 100k words on this now. Wow.
