Incomplete System in Marvel

A man wakes up in the body of Peter Parker with almost no memories of his previous life. How will he survive in a Marvel Universe that is much more different and dangerous than just the movie universe? A system, of course! But what’s up with this system being in version 0.1 and having almost no features? ------------ Turn off your brain and don't put too much thought into things. I certainly didn't.

With both the Vulture and the Fantastic Four jet moving toward each other at high speeds, it isn't long before the two are basically parallel.

Seeing me climbing on top of the soaring jet, Vulture says nothing but gives a wicked grin and laughs as he chucks the bomb in his hands toward the jet. Now you would think the bomb would just hit the aircraft before bouncing off and falling toward the ground, but you'd be wrong as instead, four mechanical legs pop out of the corners of the bomb and suction themselves to the jet.

Adrian must have been prepared for the FF to arrive, but he didn't account for me. Climbing over the edge and drawing closer to the bomb, I attempt to yank it off, expecting it to not be difficult, but much to my surprise, I don't feel it moving at all. Instead, it feels as if I'm going to rip off the entire bottom part of the jet instead of the bomb itself.

Shrugging and assuming that Reed would rather repair a small part of their ship than build a whole new one after this one explodes, I do just that, and instead of trying to pull off the bomb attach my fingers to the metal sheets it is connected to and rip them off entirely to reveal all sorts of (presumably) crucial parts and wires underneath.

Flinging the metal plate, I ripped off together with the bomb toward the water far away from the bridge, which still had some people and cars on it I let go of the jet myself and leap into the air, shooting a web at the back of the Vulture who has yet to fly far.

As the web hits the Vulture in the back, I immediately feel myself being pulled forward by his momentum without even having to retract my web. This could be a pretty fun experience were I not in a battle against some maniacs who want to kill me.

Feeling the sudden weight slowing down his flight speed and hearing the bomb I just threw away exploding in mid-air, far from his intended target Adrian turns around to look at me with a less then pleasing look on his face.

"Argh, you… who even are you? A new member of the team?" He shouts out while looking back at me frustratedly.

"What? How could you know about me, the amazing spiderman!? Do you even pay attention to the news?" I somehow feel genuinely annoyed that this guy who is supposed to be one of my main villains hasn't even heard of me despite me being active for well over a month already.

Like seriously, I know he has mainly fought the fantastic four in this universe up until now but come on! How could someone living in New York not even have heard of me?

"I've been sending crooks like you to the raft for mont- WHOAH" As I was talking, the Vulture launched a half dozen or so small missiles flying from his wings. A few of them were heading for me, but most were targeting the Fantastic Four jet that, much to the vulture's annoyance, was still airborne.

Reacting quickly, I cast [Mana Bolt] to have the missiles intercepted, and quickly three bolts manifest around me and are sent soaring against missiles in the air. Unfortunately, as that isn't enough to get rid of all the ones the Vulture sent out, I opt to let go of the web attached to his back for now and instead shoot webs at the missiles still in the air and pull them off their flying path.

I managed to pull two more out of the way and hurl them against the metal pillars on the bridge, where they did minimal damage, but no matter how fast I was with my actions, the last missile managed to get through my defenses and in a fiery explosion hits the jet that the three I was conversing with were in.

Momentarily I was slightly concerned that they had all died in the explosion, but in hindsight, it was stupid to worry about some of the main characters of this universe going down so easily. Landing onto one of the tall pillars on the bridge, I watch as the fire and smoke cleared over the next few seconds, and an outline of a giant parachute came into view carrying two bodies as they all gently glided downwards.

Reed being the moldable person he was, had turned himself into a parachute and caught the other two as they had evacuated the jet moments before the missile I had failed to deal with made contact with them. So much for not having to rebuild the entire aircraft.

I watch the three of them slowly drift toward the ground for a few seconds, but as expected, The Vulture wouldn't allow that to go on for long. As quickly as the Vulture left after shooting his missiles, he arrived back on the scene, and Diana is already informing me that he is about to shoot right past me in the direction of the three currently in the air.

Not willing to let him do as he pleases, I, of course, once again shoot my webs onto him, this time planning to retract the webs and pull myself onto his back to rip off the mechanical wings. The first part of my plan goes as expected, with the webs attaching to Adrian's back and me quickly approaching him as I retract the webbing, but…

"Piss off already!" He yells angrily, looking back at me, who is quickly approaching and doing a barrel roll in mid-air, moving his wings enough to cut my webbing off.

I don't fall far as I shoot another web and pull myself against one of the bridge supports, but I am left to watch as the Vulture hits Reed in mid-air, causing him to drop both Susan and The Thing while the two of them go off, flying toward the ocean.

Note: Sorry for a bit of a shorter chapter, but I just wanted to ensure the previous one wouldn't be a one-off. Already working on the next one.
