When I opened my eyes, a strange wall, and an unknown ceiling surprised me a bit, minutes later my lethargic state was gone, and I remembered where I was, one of my roommates was snoring, and the rest was silent, when I looked at the window it was still dark outside, but my dream was gone, I looked at the wall clock and I saw that it was 4 in the morning.
I decided to get up quietly to avoid disturbing the girls, with my eyes already a bit used to the darkness, I noticed that there was a paper stuck to my boot, and it was the timetable for classes, I changed my clothes, took some school books at random and left the room. I went into the bathroom after washing and combing my hair, I went down to the common room which was deserted which didn't surprise me, last night I'm sure everyone had stayed up all night talking and getting to know each other a bit.
The fireplace was lit and even with that I was cold, so I took a place near the warmth and opened a book and when I looked it turned out to be potions, a subject taught by the good Snape.
It wasn't exactly interesting reading at first, yet after a while, it was quite comfortable to learn about brewing, the methods, the reactions to the wrong mixture of ingredients, and the correct level of fire, after a while my eyes got tired of reading, so I stopped, and saw that only half an hour had passed, satisfied with my little self-learning in potions I picked up another book.
Transfiguration was more interesting, and although it sounded complicated, I was looking forward to that class, I didn't dare to practice magic at this precise moment as it was too early, and I didn't know if I would make noise, or damage something in the process.
Time went by, and before I knew it, it was six o'clock and I went to my room before everyone started to go downstairs.
As I walked in I saw Hermione already dressed, we greeted each other, and we woke up the other girls, but they were very slow, so we headed to class, Hermione all the way was trying hard to show how much she knew, she was a bit annoying, but there was nothing to do, when we arrived the classroom was still empty, and on the podium was a tabby cat.
- "Good morning, Professor."
Hermione almost immediately did the same, and we sat down.
After a few minutes, the children began to arrive and the quiet room was filled with hustle and bustle and laughter, when the class was about to start Harry and Ron came running in, then when Ron began to celebrate in front of their eyes the cat transformed and the teacher began to scold them.
So began the class, explaining and introducing us to the essence of her subject, writing with pen and ink was a new experience but not a pleasant one, it was difficult to write without creating little spots on the parchment, then came the practical part, and we had to turn a beetle into a button, After many attempts directing my magic to the wand and visualizing in my mind the button I did it, it was a flat button without decoration, but I did it, excited I called the teacher, and she gave me a point, Hermione minutes later also did it, her button was nicer than mine, she also received another point.
For the rest of the class, I kept practicing with other beetles, and each time they were better and better which made me feel more confident in my magic, and I even saw the teacher's satisfied smile.
At the end of the class, I heard the characteristic sound of the system, what the system informed me was not a mission but an unexpected reward.
Ding! Ding!
Congratulations! You are a very diligent little witch and the teacher is very satisfied with your performance.
You got 5 improvement points.
Just for making buttons, I got more points than for a mission?
I didn't expect it, but I'm satisfied. I hope I'll get points if I perform well in every class because I don't think there are many missions.
I knew that not all the classes would be interesting, but this one was exaggeratedly boring, Professor Binns made the already boring history even more terrible and tedious, and tiring, writing, writing, and listening, his class even though it lasted the same time as transfiguration, it felt like double or triple, we all left quickly as soon as the class was over.
What awaited us was charm class with Professor Flitwick, an entertaining class where we got very busy with the wand, he passed us all a cushion and explained how to change it and make it hard, I teamed up with a rather quiet girl as she tried to cast the spell, I listened to the number of times Hermione corrected poor Ron, and watched as she successfully cast the spell and Ron just got more and more uncomfortable, after a few more attempts I succeeded and also got a point, luckily I wasn't near the boy who makes everything explode or maybe my hair would have been scorched.
Ding! Ding!
Congratulations, the teacher is happy with your performance, even though you were not diligent enough he felt your effort.
You got 2 improvement points.
The next thing was not a class but breakfast, so we all went to the Great Hall, and enjoyed an excellent meal, since I had no friends I tried not to move away from Hermione, and we chatted a bit until I started to feel uncomfortable, then I realized that some people were whispering while they saw me and that nobody was near me.
'Seriously how immature, with work I manage to make some buttons, and they are afraid of me, silly!'
Luckily the owls started to arrive and everyone was distracted, it wasn't a big deal whether there were owls or not as there was no one waiting for me to return.
Some were celebrating the sweets or money until Neville got all the attention with his reminder, I waited for the drama with my dear cousin Draco and Harry while I ate, I watched the drama until Professor McGonagall sent the kid to his table.
In the gloomy dungeon was the next Potions class, where Professor Snape made his dramatic arrival, and as he gave us his opening speech, he began to question poor Harry, while Hermione almost wanted to float to the ceiling and answer only to be ignored and Harry was deducted points while the Slytherin's laughed, we began to write as he explained to us about options. Unfortunately, the class ended and obviously, I didn't get any points.
The next class was flying, Professor Hooch was quite strict and started to explain to us the proper way to get on the broom, balance, and the placement of the hands and legs.
When we had to make the broom reach our hand, Harry was the first one to do it, Hermione and I took a bit longer, but we did it, it was good to know that I had some gift to fly, not like poor Ron who got hit in the face by the broom or Neville who didn't even move when I said up, once we all or most of us had them in our hands, we got on, waiting for the instructions, just when Neville was going to start the entertaining part Neville went up and the inevitable happened.
Draco did his thing and successfully challenged Harry, Hermione as a good student tried to stop him without success, I just shouted luck and he smiled before rising. Hermione scolded me with her eyes, I just shrugged my shoulders.
- "I couldn't stop him, and you know it, let's just see what happens, we can't do anything else."
In the sky, the two boys were arguing about something until Draco threw the Rememberal and Harry made an excellent catch, as he went down by the power of the plot Professor McGonagall took him away and the rest of us waited without seeing Professor Hooch's return, until the class was over and we left.
Herbology, was quite an entertaining class, although it was tedious filling up with dirt, I couldn't answer any questions as I hadn't read anything about plants, but I got an improvement point at the end, which was a good gain.
By the end of the day, classes were over, and I ran to see how Harry had done with McGonagall, Ron was a bit distant from me but due to the euphoria of both children they were not polite to me and I had a little chat with them, then I went to the library to improve my knowledge, I saw Hermione thinking that although she is quite presumptuous, being in the library she will surely be quiet, I took a book about basic magic and I immersed myself in reading until the librarian carried us out as it was time for dinner.
After dinner, I went to bed quite satisfied and tired, and it didn't take long for me to fall asleep.
