Chapter 20

[A/N:I couldn't post any chapter due to health issues.]

Dom had asked Mia to go with Brian to look around for Jesse,in reality Jesse was happy in Kage's house watching TV, while Brian is distracted they will hijack the truck.The team arrived at a remote site outside of Thermal, California, where the Honda Civic's were being stashed and prepared them for the job. "All right, we're one man short.Kage will scout out the truck on his bike."

Four cars parked under tarps. Dom,Letty,Vince and Leon starts pulling tarps off as they revealed the stealth black Civics.Kage smiled and replied"Roger."as he heard Leon say"Your sister's right about this one. This doesn't feel right." as was handing Dom a grappling gun.

Dom frowned and said"Don't do that."

Letty was in agreement with Leon"He is right Dom.Something's just doesn't feel right."

Dom gestured everyone to stop and said"Stop. Okay, this is the mother lode. We've been on this for three months. After this, it's a long vacation for everyone."

Kage put his helmet on and reved his bike a bit, and drives in the front of the 3 black civics.

Kage revving the throttle and taking off with his bike weaves through the flow of cars and checks out the truck seeing nothing unusual he signaled Dom to come,as Vince puts on his gas mask. Dominic pulls closer to the Tandem Rig.Both Letty and Leon civics take position on either side of the truck as

they hit their headlights.

The truck driver reacts sees the civics on either side.Dom's civic pulls in front with vince slowly stands up through the sunroof in a gasmask, aiming the speargun shoots it as the anchor pierces the windshield. the civic guns it and the windshield is torn from its frame.The driver lays a hand on the shotgun and grins.Vince reloads the speargun then aims and fires thwack!-dunk!the spear embeds itself into the seat by the driver.

Vince then stands atop Dom's civic as he

activates the winch on his chest and leaps-the winch pulls him to the tandem rig.Vince hits the grill with a thud.He then grabs the bulldog hood

ornament, pulls a chemical grenade from his pocket and pulls

the pin and tries to pull himself onto the hood.Dom pulls far ahead to recon the freeway.But inside the truck.The driver sees vince's head pop up.As Vince aims to throw the grenade into the

open windshield.But before he could do it the Truck driver pulls out his shotgun and fires shredding the hood by Vince's head.Vince was shocked and drops the smoking grenade in panic it skitters across the

highway, hissing smoke.

Kage seeing the shotgun knew things this was too much ,but he was able to get the idiot Truck drivers attention,but the poor guy couldn't get good shot because Kage was using the incoming cars

as shields.

Kage tries to get close Vince,but the Truck driver starts shooting Kage who quickly pull away,Kage ducking back through the traffic as if dodging bullets.Kage weaves around moving cars, in and out. As Truck driver fires, only getting the rear light. Kage sees in hs rear view mirror that driver was getting lock on him as Kage pulls out in front of it, immediately drawing fire. Without

slowing,Kage drops to the side his cycle for cover.The truck driver was out of ammo and starts reloading again as he once come out again.Kage both revs and brakes, spinning the

bike,he burns the back wheel,creating a smoke screen.The smoke gets in the Truck's way as the truck driver muttered" God damn it! I can't see anything!"

Dom was able pull Vince into the car because of the distraction,as Kage stops burning the wheel and rides on. The Truck comes out of the smoke and then crashes into the back of a car.

Kage through his earpiece asked"Is Vince okay?"Dom who checked at Vince replied through the walkie"He is fine,but we have to get out of here."

Kage though his earpiece said"The trucker called the police, which means he's gonna tell them that a guy named Vince tried to jack his rig and may be able to tell them about you, since Vince was yelling for your help."Dom curse knowing this was bad,since he was the one who insisted on this job.

Dom scowled and shouted"Dammit." Dom was trying to think of a way out of this.But he couldn't think of anything for now.

Letty with slight fear said"Dom, we need to get you across the border.You can't stay here for long" s

Dom and Kage knew it was the only option besides Dom getting locked up for decades.

Mia, despite it saddening her to think of him having to do that, nodded knowing it was the only way and was backed up by Vince,Jesse and Leon.

Dom sighed and nodded before Kage and he left so he could pick up some things since the others needed to lay low.

Dom was inside his house grabbing some of his clothes and personal items.While Kage was outside keeping a lookout for any cops or maybe even the truckers come looking to settle the score.

When Dom finally came out,Kage helped him with his stuff before Brian pulled up and pointed his gun at them and shouted, "Stop right there!"

Dom was glaring at him Brian looked slightly guilty as he said, "I'm sorry Dom,Kage, I really tried to steer the feds away from you. I blamed Tran, Hector, Edwin, anyone I could think off you.But they were really too focused on you Dom."

However, Brian surprised them by lowering his gun and said"I can't protect you Dom, but I can get you a head start."this surprised them further,Brian tossed Dom the keys to the Supra, "Now take the Supra,I am sure the police knows about your charger go before back up gets here. I may be able to buy you a couple minutes, but not much more."

Both of them nod as Dom got in the Supra,while Kage got into his Ford GT,he knew ways to get Dom free,but it will take time.While the FIB couldn't do anything about Letty,Mia or Kage as their was no evidence of their involvement in the hijack.While Vince had to flee since his face was seen by the driver,Kage was able to get him a ticket to Rio for escape which he was very grateful.
