"Venturing there to consume the blood of the fallen bodies in front of the Silverwood people would be risky. We must ensure we fend them off," Cautioned Bong before Alistair rushed outside to ascertain their savior's identity.
"Yes, Master. Nonetheless, we should proceed to the scene and orchestrate a grand entrance, setting the stage for our dramatic display," Seraphina suggested with a sinister grin.
[ALERT]
[MP : 10000/1705800]
Bong, his hand intertwined with Seraphina's, descended gracefully to the ground. However, his expression shifted to one of concern as he noticed an alert.
The tremendous consumption of MP to conjure the thousands of Soul Haunt Arrows had left him fatigued, and he needed the blood of the fallen bodies to restore his depleted strength. Yet, he found himself unable to perform such an act in front of the people gathered below.
In addition, he had a pressing duty to free the boss from the cursed chains, a crucial part of his mission. But he also had another responsibility to fulfill - that of being a savior for Silverwood.
Despite the turmoil within, Bong managed to keep his demeanor composed as he descended alongside Seraphina. As their feet touched the ground, he shifted back into his human form. On the ground, Captain Alistair stepped out from his tent and noticed two figures making their way toward him.
"Sera, who is this man with you?" Captain Alistair asked, his expression a mix of confusion and curiosity.
"Allow me to introduce to you, Your Highness and the savior who rescued you from the Crestwood attack. He is the prince of a distant Kingdom in the eastern continent," Seraphina explained, her tone respectful and admiring.
"But why is he here if he's a prince? Shouldn't he be surrounded by his royal knights? What purpose does he have here?"
"And why did he assist the other faction? What is the intent behind this action?"
Captain Alistair inquired, his expression a mixture of suspicion and curiosity.
As Captain Alistair's barrage of suspicious questions continued, Bong's patience wore thin. He felt a strong urge to silence the captain and put an end to his probing inquiries. His irritation grew, and he fought to maintain his outward composure despite the overwhelming desire to rid himself of the persistent nuisance.
"Master, I implore you, refrain from attacking this naive captain. I am prepared to accept any consequences for my request to dissuade you from acting aggressively," Seraphina communicated urgently with Bong through telepathy, pleading for him to show restraint.
"Deal with this situation before I take matters into my own hands," Bong communicated through telepathy, his face showing irritation but his demeanor remaining composed.
"Captain, the King of our distant Eastern Kingdom has fallen ill due to a curse. We've learned of an herb in the Dark Forest that could cure him. Thus, His Highness embarked on this quest to obtain the herb, and I serve as his personal bodyguard," Seraphina explained with a hint of coughing, weaving a tale to cover their true intentions.
"As a prince, couldn't he simply command his servants to find the herb? Why venture alone into another territory for this journey?" Captain Alistair inquired with skepticism.
"Because he cannot trust anyone. His elder brother harbors ambitions for the throne, and we suspect he might be behind the curse that befell the king. Therefore, His Highness chose to embark on this quest alone, disguised as an adventurer. I implore you to keep this information confidential and not share it with anyone," Seraphina replied, weaving a web of intrigue to explain their motives.
"Now that I understand your noble intentions, I deeply respect your dedication to your ailing father and your willingness to forsake the throne. You are, indeed, the savior of our people and have rescued many of my loyal knights and mages. It is my solemn duty to maintain the secrecy of your mission. As the Captain of the Knights, I pledge my support and assistance in any way you require," Captain Alistair declared with gratitude.
"Ah, there's no need for such gratitude. I simply took care of those intruders as Seraphina requested, in her efforts to aid you. But let's focus on the task at hand. I'm curious about your plan to defeat Crestwood's main army," Bong inquired, steering the conversation toward their strategic objectives.
As they were engrossed in their conversation about the situation, a messenger approached Captain Alistair and whispered something in his ear. Upon hearing the messenger's words, Captain Alistair erupted into joyful laughter.
"Well, it seems there's no need for concern, Our King has dispatched the Royal Phoenix Legion to intercept the Kreoviel main forces. " He exclaimed.
"I must once again express my gratitude. Thanks to your intelligence, we were informed of their intended route, and I have already sent a message to our King detailing the treacherous actions of the Kreoviel Kingdom." He turned to Bong and continued.
"I guess I don't know much about your Kingdom, but if you don't mind, could you tell me about the Royal Phoenix Legion?" Bong inquired, seeking more information about the legion.
Alistair began to describe the Royal Phoenix Legion. The Royal Phoenix Legion is one of our most esteemed and formidable military units. They are known for their exceptional training, unwavering loyalty, and the emblematic red and gold phoenix insignia on their armor. This legion has a long history of defending Flamefeather Kingdom and it's territories against various threats.
The Royal Phoenix Legion is composed of highly skilled knights, mages, and archers, all of whom have undergone rigorous training from a young age. They are experts in both mounted and infantry combat, making them versatile and capable of adapting to various battlefield scenarios. Their commitment to our kingdom's defense is unmatched, and they have proven their valor in numerous battles.
Only those who can tame the legendary Phoenix, a majestic and powerful beast, are considered worthy of becoming the General of the Royal Phoenix Legion. It is said that the name of the legion itself comes from the fact that the General rides this magnificent creature into battle, symbolizing the strength and unity of our kingdom.
"Ahh, intriguing, they must be exceptional and powerful, worthy to defend your Kingdom," Bong's eyes gleamed, and a sinister smile crossed his face as he pondered something behind his facade.
I will introduce more about the structure of the continent, kingdoms, and empires in later chapters.
