Always Came Up

"Xiaohui, look at this!" Tan Ruanjun squealed in delight as she shoved her phone in Lin Xiaohui's face.

Lin Xiaohui, who was currently eating, looked at the post on Tan Ruanjun's screen and read the words. It was only information about a male idol returning to China, what was the big deal?

"Your expression tells me you don't understand. Shen Wuying is back! My male god is back, ah!" Tan Ruanjun screamed as she took her phone back to leave some comments on the post.

Lin Xiaohui rolled her eyes and resumed eating.

Ten minutes later, she received a call from her brother. Lin Xiaohui stared at the caller ID before hesitantly answering. As expected, her brother immediately started hurling questions at her.

"Baby Hui, are you eating well?! They aren't mistreating my baby sister, are they? Has anyone been bothering you?" Lin Chi bombarded her with an aggrieved tone.

When Lin Xiaohui graduated high school and got accepted into X university, she had taken the initiative to move into the campus dormitory, thus resulting in her family not being able to see her as much as they'd like to.

"The food here is great, and nobody would dare to mistreat me. Also, no one has come up to me." Lin Xiaohui answered his questions one by one.

"Let big brother know if you encounter any troubles." Lin Chi let out a sigh of relief before finally getting to the point of his call.

"Father wants you to meet someone. Come home this Saturday, okay?"

After agreeing to his request, Lin Xiaohui hung up the call and shot a glare at Tan Ruanjun who was laughing in the corner.

"Hahaha! He's still as possessive as always!" Tan Ruanjun was aware of the abnormal behavior the Lin family had when it concerned Lin Xiaohui, but it always made her laugh every single time she witnessed it happen.

While they were laughing, the door suddenly opened and a tall girl with a great figure stepped inside. The air immediately quieted and turned cold.

The girl lifted her head to look at the pair before making a displeased face and then ignored their existence entirely.

"..."

Once the girl went into the bathroom, Tan Ruanjun couldn't hold it in anymore and whispered angrily to Lin Xiaohui, "That Zhong Yanmei is always acting like she owns the world!"

"She's still pretty~" Lin Xiaohui helplessly responded.

Zhong Yanmei shared a dorm with the two of them. Although she always treated them badly because of unknown reasons, neither Lin Xiaohui nor Tan Ruanjun could refute the fact that Zhong Yanmei was beautiful.

"Ah, but you're prettier!" Tan Ruanjun couldn't help but to grumble.

"I wonder what we did to offend her?" Lin Xiaohui wondered. "Let's not talk behind her back now, we're better than that."

"Okay. Let's play WOH!"

When Lin Xiaohui logged into the game, she saw that she had several new friend requests. She was a bit confused on why she had so many until she accepted one of them and she immediately got a message:

XBSJSKAHQMS: You finally accepted!! Little sister, I was wrong. Girls have skills. Now can we be friends? ^_^

Lin Xiaohui was baffled and she immediately closed the game. Way to ruin her mood!!!

On the weekend, after bidding farewell to Tan Ruanjun, Lin Xiaohui went home. She was greeted by the family guard, Mr. Gu, and she smiled at him before entering the three story mansion. Her mother rushed to welcome her and cried, "Our baby is back!"

"Mom, I'm not a child anymore!" Lin Xiaohui was suffocated by her mother's embrace and couldn't help but to complain.

"LiLi, you're troubling my angel." Her father came downstairs and sighed.

"What? Who is it that eagerly waits for Hui's calls everyday?" Mother Lin glared at her husband and he shut his mouth.

"Dad, mom, let's not start this again. Where's big brother?" Lin Xiaohui laughed and looked around but found no sight of Lin Chi.

"That brat went out to play with Xinyi." Father Lin explained as he caressed his daughter's head and messed up the hair she spent a whole hour on.

"Xinyi's back?" Lin Xiaohui didn't mind her hair being ruined and was rather excited by the news presented to her.

Gu Xinyi was her childhood friend and also the son of her family's bodyguard, Mr. Gu. She was on close terms with him and always thought he was funny.

"Yes, you can play with him later. I'd like for you to meet someone today." Father Lin coughed.

"If it's another blind date with a man, I refuse." Lin Xiaohui bluntly put out her conditions and Mother Lin sighed behind her.

"Silly girl, your dad has already accepted your sexuality. It doesn't matter who you like, alright?" Mother Lin stuck up for her husband and Father Lin seemed embarrassed.

Lin Xiaohui had come out to her family years ago, but it was only recently that they all came to fully accept her.

"The person is a man, but it isn't a blind date..." Father Lin tried to explain himself and Lin Xiaohui raised an eyebrow in suspicion.

"Who is it?" She finally asked.

"Zhan Chen." Father Lin gently answered.

"...You dare say it isn't a blind date???" Lin Xiaohui kept up with the business world so she naturally knew Zhan Chen's identity. The latter was on the list of top 10 richest men in the world, how could she not know him?!

"Baby, listen to me, it really isn't a blind date! Didn't you say you were interested in becoming a celebrity? He wants to sign you." Father Lin was sweating bullets. He purposely hid the fact that Zhan Chen seemed to be deliberately trying to get Lin Xiaohui's attention.

"Oh, ohh~ Daddy, you're the best!" Lin Xiaohui accepted his excuse and planted a kiss to his cheek. Father Lin breathed in relief.

"When am I meeting him?" She then asked.

"He wants you to visit his company today." Mother Lin stepped in and smiled. "I heard he was also interested in one of your classmates."

"Who?" Lin Xiaohui looked up.

"What was her name? Ah, that Zhong Yanmei girl!" Mother Lin recalled seeing Zhong Yanmei at the university once. Even though she herself was an actress who has seen several gorgeous beauties, it was the first time she saw someone who looked so naturally ethereal.

Zhong Yanmei left a good impression on her.

Lin Xiaohui's lips curled into a smile but she didn't say anything else. It seemed no matter where she was, Zhong Yanmei always came up.
