Mariejois, within the opulent châteaux of Panger Love, the remaining five Celestial Dragons were gathered. Among them were a few special figures, clearly significant members of the Mariejois elite.
An elderly star with a bald head and a sword calmly observed the scene. "Marine actually used the Lion Fruit ability to land on Mariejois quietly. They may think they're strong, but the World Government's real trump cards haven't been revealed yet."
"Now, go and give them a little appetizer," he instructed.
"Knew," came the reply from a CP0 agent wearing a distinctive yin-yang face mask. He nodded, stood up from the sofa, and walked out the door.
This man, with a bowler hat and a long scarf wrapped around his neck, exuded a dry, no-nonsense aura. He was the commander-in-chief of the CP0 agency, known as "Yin-Yang Face."
If Finn were present, he would immediately recognize this figure. "Yin-Yang Face" was no unknown person. He had appeared in both the original manga and the anime's theatrical version. In fact, he had even issued orders to Sakazuki when the latter became Marine Marshal, bypassing the World Government entirely.
The man left the office building of the Five Elders, where many CP0 agents awaited him outside. These agents were all at least the rank of Vice Admiral, and there were hundreds of them. This was the true strength of the World Government!
As the elderly star had mentioned, this was just an appetizer. The true main course, a massive and terrifying attack, was yet to come.
Meanwhile, the East Gate of Mariejois had already been bombarded by countless shells, and the city had descended into chaos—fire and ash consuming everything.
Marine soldiers, charging through the flames and wreckage, advanced toward the city. Meanwhile, CP agents assisted the Celestial Dragons in evacuating the East City, guiding them to the west side of Mariejois.
"Slow down! If you drop me, you'll regret it!" barked one fat-headed Celestial Dragon, addressing a slave kneeling before him.
Beside him, another Celestial Dragon was being carried by an older man, his father, who muttered in anger, "These untouchables dared to attack Mariejois. They will be shot dead for treason!"
The two Celestial Dragons were accompanied by others of their kind.
One Celestial Dragon, clearly dissatisfied, seethed, "Don't kill them all right away. Let's pick some slaves first, especially those who dare to resist us. We must make examples of them."
"Great idea!" another Celestial Dragon grinned. "After we capture them, we can hold a slave duel to see who has the better eye for slaves!"
"Haha, only one can win. The others must die in battle," another joined in.
"Perfect! And how about rewarding the winner with food until they're full?"
"Sounds good! It's decided then!"
The Celestial Dragons erupted in laughter, enjoying their cruel plans.
Suddenly, a group of Marines appeared before them, blocking their path.
"Look! A bunch of Celestial Dragons! A bunch of trash! Let's kill them!" shouted the leader, a Marine Rear Admiral, his voice filled with righteous fury.
"Yes, sir!" A dozen Marines shouted in unison.
"You bastards!" a Celestial Dragon shouted. "How dare you disrespect the descendants of God? You deserve to die!" His guards, heavily armed, pointed their spears forward in anger.
"Look at you," the Marine Rear Admiral said coldly. "The nature of slavery runs deep in your bones. You are beyond saving."
With that, he drew his sword and advanced toward the guards.
"Bold! I will execute you!" one of the guards yelled, raising his spear.
In an instant, the Marine Rear Admiral used the Marine Six Styles—Shave. His figure vanished and reappeared behind the guard.
"What?! When did you...?" The guard's eyes widened in disbelief. He looked down to see a deep gash in his stomach, blood pouring from the wound.
"Impossible! He's just a Marine Rear Admiral—how could he be so fast?" The guard's thoughts became muddled as his consciousness faded. Before he could react, he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
Despite being a guard of Mariejois, his strength was considerable, likely on par with a Marine Lieutenant Colonel. He had many companions, some of whom were even stronger, who could have helped him take down the Marines.
But he never expected that a simple Marine Rear Admiral could strike with such speed and precision. He had no time to resist.
In truth, the Marines that Finn had sent to the Holy Land were no ordinary soldiers. Only officers ranked Lieutenant or higher were involved in the mission. Those who had entered the battlefield were all officers above the rank of Captain.
Lieutenant-level officers were tasked with transporting supplies or assisting as medics. But they were far outmatched by the officers Finn had brought with him.
Before launching the attack, Finn had summoned 10 auxiliary heroic spirits. These spirits provided numerous buffs to the Marines, enhancing their defense, attack power, agility, luck, and damage reduction.
One crucial buff was the "Perseverance" buff. This buff allowed Marine soldiers to resurrect on the spot with a small amount of health if they were killed.
Theoretically, if someone revived with the Perseverance buff, they could be instantly killed again if they took any additional damage. But this was enough to give the Marines the confidence to continue fighting in Mariejois. Even if a soldier was instantly killed, the Perseverance buff would give them a second chance to fight.
Thanks to these buffs, even an ordinary Marine Rear Admiral had the strength to kill a trained guard in an instant.
