Chapter 29 Platinum rank item, but isn't that useless?

"What is this, Master?" Jin Wei asked.

"You will know, but first, take off your clothes," Aurora ordered.

"What???" Jin Wei was now completely shocked to his core.

'What does this woman want? I know I am handsome and dream of many girls, but the Aurora I know from the novel wasn't like this,' Jin Wei thought with confusion.

"Don't think too much, boy. Hurry up and take off your clothes," Aurora said again, with a bit of irritation in her tone.

Hearing this, Jin Wei just sighed in disappointment. Although he was shocked, if Aurora wanted, he wouldn't have minded doing it with her. But it seems he was just thinking too much.

"All right," Jin Wei said and hurriedly began to take off his clothes, leaving only his boxers intact. Even though he wouldn't mind taking them off, Aurora said there was no need, so he stopped from doing so.

'This bastard sure has a good body.' Aurora thought a bit embarrassed as she never looked at a man's body this close, even though he was her student who was very young compared to her, but she couldn't help but be embarrassed.

Jin Wei's physique strikes a balance between muscularity and athleticism. He possesses well-defined muscles, a noticeable six-pack, wide shoulders, and an overall fit appearance.

His physique reflects both strength and agility; his muscles were perfect, not too big, not too lean, and also looked quite flexible, good for both fighting and running.

Jin Wei noticed Aurora's gaze, making him grin inside. "I am handsome, right, Master?" Jin Wei asked with a teasing tone.

Hearing his words, Aurora's face reddened in embarrassment, but she quickly hid it with an angry look and threw the black cube in Jin Wei's direction. He caught it without any issues.

Fortunately, she didn't throw it at her full speed, or Jin Wei might have a hole in his head right now. "Humph, smelly brat, quickly put a drop of blood on the top of that box," Aurora ordered with a pout as she looked in a different direction.

Jin Wei chuckled and did what he was told. He quickly bit his finger and released a drop of blood on top of the box. Contrary to what he expected, the box didn't start glowing and make him blind for a moment or anything. The box just absorbed his blood and did nothing.

After a few seconds, he felt a connection to the black cubic box, similar to his ring.

"Is this a bound item?" Jin Wei asked curiously.

Aurora was a bit shocked and asked with suspicion, "Oh, you know about bound items?"

Jin Wei now realized that he said something he shouldn't have, as in earth, bound items are considered very rare, just like space rings.

In military eyes, Jin Wei was just a war orphan, usually, orphans like him lack basic knowledge about everything, so it is unusual for him to know about all this.

Even though Aurora was looking at him with suspicion right now, Jin Wei's expression remained neutral. And he lied, "Well, before my father died in the war, he taught me some basic knowledge, so I know about a few things like this."

Aurora sighed, satisfied with Jin Wei's answer, and then she said, "Well, since you know, then try to activate this with your mind."

Jin Wei nodded and tried to activate the box. Then, the box began to melt like water, but it didn't fall from his hand like water would. Instead, it began to fuse with his body like a symbiote, and his fully naked body began to be covered by the black symbiote-like substance.

Surprisingly, Jin Wei wasn't scared or anything, as he could feel that this thing meant no harm to him.

After a few seconds, his entire body, except for his head, hand, and leg, was covered by a thick black layer of an unknown substance, which from inside felt like a normal cotton dress but from outside felt like hard metal. As he moved his body, he felt no discomfort at all; it almost felt like he was naked.

"What is this thing, Master?" Jin Wei asked with amusement as he began to inspect his new look.

"This item is a High Platinum rank bound item. So unless you die, no one beside you can use it," Aurora explained casually.

But Jin Wei was now really shocked. When did a High Platinum rank item becomes easy to acquire? Even on planet Nocturna, only high rank Vampires have items of that category.

Even Liam in the novel only acquired one Platinum rank item after he finished school. And now Jin Wei acquired one just like that; on top of that, it's a bound item, so no one beside him can use it. Isn't this awesome?

"What does it do, Master?" Jin Wei asked with amusement, expecting it to do something awesome, like giving him indestructible defense or some more overpowered stuff.

"Sigh, it doesn't give you any boost in strength or anything; it just helps you train both physically and mentally," Aurora explained. Hearing her words, Jin Wei felt quite disappointed.

'What would be the point of being a High Platinum rank item if it can only help me train and not give me anything else?' Jin Wei thought, not as excited as before.

Aurora could see Jin Wei's disappointment, but she didn't mind. As she added, "Although this thing isn't good for combat, I can guarantee that it's going to help you the most in your life!"

"How so?" Jin Wei asked, now a bit expectant about what it could do.

"This item can shape into anything, but that doesn't mean that it can become a sword or shield that can help you in combat."

"What I mean is that it can turn into the dress you are wearing, become something like a necklace or ring, or something similar."

"But that's not all; this item has a bit of consciousness of its own. When it feels like it's about to get harmed, it automatically moves from that place toward a safe place."

"So if someone tries to cut you with a sword, this thing will move away from its position, making the sword hit you directly, so this thing won't even get a scratch," Aurora explained like she was explaining about some awesome products.

Jin Wei was now looking at her like an idiot, "Then isn't it practically useless?" Jin Wei shouted as he felt stupid right now.
