"DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE?" Jin Wei's voice was icy, his gaze unwavering as he loomed over Liam. The dim light from the single overhead bulb cast harsh shadows across his face, intensifying the coldness in his eyes.
Liam's voice faltered, trembling with fear. "I… I…" He swallowed hard, his throat dry. "N-No…" he whispered, his eyes wide and pleading.
Jin Wei shook his head, a hint of impatience flaring in his eyes. "I've given you enough chances. Now, it's time I call the military."
Panic surged through Liam's veins as he saw Jin Wei's hand move toward his watch again. With a desperate, choked cry, he lunged forward, grabbing Jin Wei's leg with all the strength he had left. His fingers were cold and clammy, his grip feeble.
"Please… Please… I beg of you… don't do that!" Tears streamed down Liam's face as he clung to Jin Wei's leg. His grip was weak, his fingers trembling as though they might slip off at any moment.
