After Leaving his residence, Fang Yang walked towards the mine entrance, but just as he was about to enter, Fang Yang felt someone approach him.
"Excuse me." Said a voice
Turning around, Fang Yang looked to see who could possibly be calling him, and as he turned around, a look of surprise flashed in his eyes.
As he turned around, he saw a rather handsome man looking at him with a welcoming smile. But more than his looks, the thing that shocked Fang Yang the most about the man was the aura that he was radiating.
Fang Yang could clearly feel the aura of a 7th level Qi cultivator radiating from the man.
"Hello. What are you calling me for." Asked Fang Yang flatly.
Although the man in front of him was a 7th level Qi cultivator, Fang Yang wasn't too humble in front of him.
After all, who wouldn't be on guard if a strange late stage Qi cultivator came to him? To Fang Yang, it smelt like a conspiracy.
Sensing the suspicion in Fang Yang's eyes, an embarrassed smile flashed across the man's faces
"Don't be on guard. I'm not here to ask you for anything strange."
Said the man
The reason I'm speaking to you is because I would like to invite you into our squad."
Hearing this, a surprised look appeared on Fang Yang's face.
Fang Yang wasn't a stranger to the squads entering the mines. He had even received a few invites from other mid stage Qi cultivators but he dismissed them.
He had always dismissed the invitations before because he was content working alone in the eastern sector, but this was still the first time he had received an invitation from a late stage Qi cultivator.
Seeing this, Fang Yang couldn't contain his curiosity and asked.
"So why did you choose to invite me? I'm only in the 2nd level of Qi refinement and probably the weakest person in the entire mining outpost so I can't help but feel a little curious."
When the man heard Fang Yang's self-deprecating words, a smile appeared on his face.
"Others may think so, but I certainly don't. If you really are a weakling like you say, it would be impossible to exchange such a large number of gold eating rats. You even regularly exchange some mid stage gold-eating rats."
As Fang Yang heard this, a frown appeared on his face. But this was to be expected. No one liked having their every move being watched, even more so for someone like Fang Yang, who had an important secret to keep.
The man opposite seemed to notice Fang Yang's worries as well and quickly interjected
"Don't get the wrong idea. I haven't been purposefully monitoring you in secret or anything like that. It's just that when I go to exchange my spoils, I often see you there and it's easier to see exactly how much you exchanged. I only guessed from the quantity and the strength of the gold-eating rats that you exchanged that you had the strength of a mid stage Qi cultivator."
After hearing the man's explanation, Fang Yang's tense expression finally relaxed. As for the fact that he had the combat power of a mid stage Qi cultivator? Fang Yang wasn't too bothered with the news leaking out. He wasn't trying to hide it in the first place. As long as nobody found out the information about his system, Fang Yang would always have the upper hand.
If someone really tried to plot against him by only taking into account his displayed strength, they wouldn't even know how they died.
Fang Yang saw no reason to hide the strength of his corpse puppet, so he simply told the man in front of him the truth.
"Your guess is correct. I have a mid stage Iron corpse puppet under my control."
Although he guessed it already, as soon as the man heard Fang Yang's words, a look of admiration passed through his eyes.
Controlling a mid stage iron corpse puppet whilst only being in the early stage of Qi refinement was no easy feat.
That could only mean that he had an innately strong soul that could jump across small ranks.
What the man didn't know was that Fang Yang was controlling some important details.
Whilst the battle saint corpse puppet Fang Yang controlled could rival a mid stage iron corpse, it was truly only in the early stage. It was just especially strong because it was refined using techniques created by powerful ancient cultivators.
The amount of stress it placed on Fang Yang's soul was equivalent to any other mid stage iron corpse.
But Fang Yang wasn't so stupid that he would point out such a thing.
There was no harm to people around him thinking he was a little genius. In fact, it was a good thing.
Geniuses often received preferential treatment and could avoid a lot of problems.
But it wasn't even his supposed genius that impressed the man in front of him the most.
What truly impressed him was Fang Yang's wealth.
The price of creating a corpse puppet was no joke.
Take Fang Yang's corpse puppet for example.
If you want to calculate the price of Fang Yang's Battle Saint Corpse puppet, then it would be somewhere over 300 spirit stones.
After exchanging his contribution points and savings over the last 7-8 years, Fang Yang had only saved 100 spirit stones. Just to create this corpse puppet meant that Fang Yang had taken out a loan that had almost put him into slavery.
Although Fang Yang's corpse puppet was on the expensive side, most early stage corpse puppets cost anywhere from 40-80 spirit stones. And mid stage ones were even more outrageous, costing anywhere from 150-400 spirit stones and late stage ones were in the 1000s of spirit stones.
What makes things worse is that to properly show the strength of a corpse puppet, you had to control more than one, causing the expense to multiply.
