The newlyweds were on their six-month honeymoon and docked at Nassau, Bahamas, port when Ann got a call from her best friend and manager, Lea Kuan, who was crying uncontrollably.
"Friend, *sob, sob, sob,*" Lea cried so much that her words were barely intelligible.
Ann struggled to understand her due to the sea noise and Jeff playing with her earlobes, but it was clear that Lea was in distress. She would not call her if it weren't urgent.
"Lea, I love you, and I'm glad to hear from you, but if you don't start speaking soon, I will hang up!" Ann threatened Lea to get her to speak clearly.
"Friend, I have a problem... and...Do you think you could..- like..., make a detour with your honeymoon and accompany me to meet with my brothers?" Lea asked, still in tears.
