Gohan saw the surroundings, it was a desert place and similar to the room of time.

"Three days here is one day abroad, so we can take advantage of the time" Merus commented walking next to him. Gohan nodded at that.

"We have a place like that on my planet, only one day is two years" answered the boy and Merus widened his eyes surprised at that news.

"I see, that explains why the power level of Earth is so high" Merus commented. He already understood, "Is sparring okay with you?"

"Very good, okay" Gohan nodded and went Super Saiyan in that instant.

"Don't transform. If your goal is to reach your mortal limit, max out your base power" Merus sternly advised and Gohan complied.

He made sense anyway, the more powerful he was in his base state the more power the other Super Saiyan grades would have.

"Ready Merus?" Gohan spoke in a battle stance. Merus nodded, so he flew towards him.

Gohan extended his right fist looking to hit the patrolman's face, who took out a staff and calmly stopped the Saiyan's fist.

Gohan made a body feint pretending to punch with the other fist but at the last moment he tried to sweep Merus's leg.

But nevertheless, Merus jumped and spinning his staff hit Gohan, who used a fake image, and appeared right on top of the patrol car.

He had made a Ki sword and had it ready to attack, but Merus easily dodged by moving to the right.

"I see, you are able to dodge instinctively, right?" the boy inquired.

Merus was shocked to see that Gohan had noticed this. "That's right, I use a technique that allows me to perform such a thing instinctively."

"Oh, so even in Super Saiyan two I couldn't beat you because your reaction speed is much higher" Gohan replied resignedly.

"You have a lot of training left" Merus smiled. Gohan then put his hand to his chin.

"But there's something I don't understand. If you're so strong, why didn't you intervene against Frieza and prevent his ravages?" Gohan stated seriously.

Merus looked at him then. He knew that he had every right to ask, since they suffered Frieza's tyranny, for a few decades.

"No matter how powerful it is, there are things that I can't do because of my position, I would have liked to help but the patrol was very afraid of Frieza"

"And it would have been very suspicious for me, a simple patrolman, to defeat the fearsome Frieza, don't you think?" asked the patrolman smiling.

"Partly yes, so the others don't know about your divine status?" Gohan asked curiously even though he knew it beforehand.

"Exactly. Anyway you and your group of friends showed up to save the galaxy on more than one occasion, I really appreciate it"

"And your work as emperor is also remarkable" Merus flattered with a smile.

"I try to do what I can, I'm not very interested in justice, I just want mine to be and live in peace" Gohan declared smiling.

"And what does your family have to do with running the greatest empire in the entire universe?" Merus asked curiously. He wanted to know the reason.

"I want to prevent another Frieza from appearing, and it's also entertaining" replied the saiyan.

"What's fun in that?" Merus thought.

"Being the strongest is one of my goals. If I am the most powerful, my family will always live in peace. But that is an uncertain ideology"

"I know that someone who is stronger than me will always appear, so that motivates me to be training day after day" replied the boy.

"And when you're not here?" Merus asked.

"When I'm not on this world, my legacy will be there, what I'm forging. My empire will continue my work" Gohan replied.

Merus smirked, he knew that he was not wrong with this boy. He was one of a kind of his, destined to change the history of the world.

"Okay, let's keep training" Merus said. Now that he knew the Saiyan better, he was sure that he wanted to help him in his destiny.

Gohan got into a fighting stance. This was the first time he had opened up to anyone about his motivations, but it was very necessary.

Merus was a guardian angel apprentice, he knew a lot more than he did. So, it was worth being honest with Merus.

Time flew endlessly, and in the blink of an eye nine months had passed since Cell's defeat.

In this period, there was a great period of peace. So much so that Vegeta had his heir; a son with Bulma whom he named Trunks, Bulma's choice.

17 found work as a game ranger and 16 accompanied him on that adventure. He felt at home, and 17 began to like work.

Krillin found a job as a policeman, Yamcha continued as a baseball player, and Tien planned to open a dojo dealing with martial arts.

Nappa was a mechanic at Capsule Corp. He lived nearby, sometimes he stayed with Trunks because the prince didn't even do it.

Raditz was a lumberjack and well, Goku was still Goku. Only now he was spending a lot more time at home with his wife Chi-Chi.

"Hello, we're here!" Launch's voice echoed in Goku's house. The woman was accompanied by Raditz, who was driving a baby cart.

"Food is almost here" Chi-Chi leaned out and seeing the baby cart Raditz was driving she smiled, "Little Raunch is looking more and more like her mother hehe her"

In the cart that Raditz was driving was a baby with blue hair and black eyes. It was Raunch, daughter of Raditz and Launch obviously. She was his firstborn.

"And me too, hmpf" Raditz said annoyed.

Chi-Chi smiled before leaving for the kitchen. The couple went into the living room, where Goku was sitting on the sofa with a baby he was holding.

"Weird not seeing you training Kakarot" Raditz commented with a smile and Goku looked up.

"Same here, I see that you are now someone responsible, right Launch?" Goku asked.

"He does what he can" Launch replied in a mocking tone and Raditz was left with an embarrassed face making Launch laugh.

"Tsk changing the subject, in the end what have you decided to call him" Raditz looked at the baby.

"Son Goten" Goku lifted the baby into the air.

"It's a great name!" Launch exclaimed smiling, "He's very similar to you and…"

"Gohan. If he was here, he would have liked that name too" Goku added smirking.

'I always am, dad'

Goku turned after hearing Gohan's voice next to him, and looked at the silhouette of his son smiling.

"He'll be back soon, now let's eat" Raditz touched his brother's shoulder. Everyone missed Gohan, even Vegeta.

"Yes" Goku nodded carrying his son. Gohan grew up pretty fast and missed a lot of life from him, but he's not going to do the same with Goten.
