Kodi glared at her threat, and she giggled, stepping back. 'Kill her. Kill them all, and then we won't have to pay them back,' Blaze snarled in his mind. Kodi fought hard to keep his wolf's eyes from surging forward, allowing the one in charge to confirm her suspicions about Keira being his mate.
'Think she already caught on when you put a blade against her throat,' Blaze snapped, still bristling with the need to rip her throat open. If anyone showed they were a threat to Keira, to their mate, Blaze would get rid of them.
The woman stepped back and whistled nonchalantly. The Hellhounds retreated into the night like tendrils of smoke retreating into the air. Kodi didn't move for a minute, still feeling a few eyes on them. Then he started marching back, overly alert, ready to attack at any moment.
