CH 16 - Going Out Again

We arrived in my mansion as our helicopter lands on helipad in the backyard. One by one, we start to go down the helicopter to see the breathtaking scene around us.

Even though the whole city and building near us are destroyed, exploding and smokes coming out of it, this can't stop us from thinking how beautiful the nature is.

Unaffected by the apocalypse, the butterflies flied through one flower by the other. Plants and leaves swings as if they dance with the wind. The sunlight becomes the spotlight for them.

"Wow, Beautiful." Rei mutters as the others is still in daze and subconsciously nodded.

I clap as they all got out of trance.

"Come on let's go inside." I said as Yuuki laughs.

"Even though we always came here, we still can't stop staring and stupor in front of these beautiful garden." Taniuchi and Kawamoto nod their heads.

"Well, this garden is that enchanting to see." I laugh as we go inside the mansion.

When we got inside the mansion, I could see Misuzu and Toshimi tears up when they saw their parents in front of them.

"Mom! Dad!" They called their parents as they hug each other.

We watch this heartwarming moment but Yuuki and her two bestfriend asks.

"Where is our parents?"

"Nikishita?" I ask him as he answers.

"Sir, I'm sorry but we can't find them in their own houses. Probably they got bitten and they're part of those horde of zombies marching through the bridge." Nikishita said as he bows a little to me.

I look at them as I could see tears flow in their cheeks. I hug them as they cry in my shoulders. I console them as they go back in their room, they said they want to be alone for now.

Takashi, Rei and Saya then asked me the same thing Yuuki ask.

"For Mr. Komuro, we can't find her mother and little sister. They're not in their house. For Ms. Miyamoto, we searched the police station but we can't find her parents there. We only saw a officer named Kato and he said that the almost all the police are mobilized because of what happened now. For Ms. Takagi, we arrived at the Takagi estates but her mother just said that she can't leave the people there alone." He said as Komuro and Rei got sad. Saya just got into her thinking mode.

I console Rei as Nikishita called me and he said he wants to talk to me about something.

We got outside then he said.

"Sir! You're genius! The cure for these undead virus works! I told you a guy named Kato that we found in the police station, he got bitten and tried to take suicide but we came in time to stopped it and injected the virus to him. We bring him in the base and starts to monitor him for side effects." Nikishita proudly said as he looks at me with great devotion.

I studied Genetics, Epidemiology, Virology, Cytology and Hematology, so I know how to create vaccines and cure for many sickness.

I could create cure on different kinds of cancer, so the zombie virus is nothing for me. The double helix of the zombie genes is complicated but not that hard for me. The virus really didn't start now as I monitor the whole japan. I saw those undead a week before today. So I caught some of them and use them for research purposes of course.

I don't need to use my cells to create a cure as it will just help people adapt. I don't want to have a human-zombie people walking here so I use my brain to create the antidote for it.

"Great! Try to watch for side-effects, if there's none then you can inject it all to our soldiers." I said as Nikishita salutes.

I smile as I go back in the mansion. I could see others are talking happily.

I walk and seat near Rei as I talk to her.

"It's alright Rei, I will find your parents and I'm sure they're alive." I console her as she just nodded at me. I know that her mother will definitely be safe but I can't say that much to her father.

"I believe in you Dell. Thank you for coming here to comfort me." Rei said as she smiles at me but the sadness is still traced in her eyes.

"You know, you look beautiful when you're smiling. Keep happy and some good things will happen." I look at her as she blushes.

"I-I know Dell, I'll keep smiling more." She said as she smile brightly.

We talk a little more and she's more happy now. I leave her as she talks with Saeko and Shizuka.

I go to the kitchen to help Kyoko in cooking our dinner. We finished cooking as we served the dishes. I call Yuuki, Taniuchi and Kawamoto upstairs as we all starts to eat.

We talk and I sometimes joke as I could see the sadness and fear fades little by little in their hearts. We almost finish eating when Someone's phone suddenly rings.

I look and saw it was Shizuka's. She picked it up as she walk near the sides and talk to it. A few minutes later, she came back and called me.

"Dell~ Rika wants to tell something to you." Shizuka said as I walk to her and take the phone.

"It's nice talking to you again Rika." I laugh as I remember meeting her before when I made the contract with the military.

"Me too Dell~ I know that you're busy but could you give Shizuka some protection as she get some the document from my house. You probably need to go with her as she is kind of airheaded and it will cause some problems." Rika kindly ask my help as she laughs at the end.

I look at Shizuka as she just 'Teehee' with her tongue slid out of her mouth and winks at me.

"Yeah, she's literally an airhead but what's with those document? You can go get it by yourself so why do you need Shizuka?" I asks her.

"Well, since we're comrades, those documents are the intel reports from other countries. This apocalypse and undead are planned as there's no way it would spread that much in every country in just a single day. I can't go home now as some of these undead is keeping me here all the time. We need to clear the zombies here in Tokonosu Offshore International Airport for the safety of our president that is arriving here later." She said as I just nodded at her.

"Then after this, I can get a reward for you right?" I ask in a teasing tone.

"Alright, alright. I also want to know how good you are." She laughs as I could hear Rika licking her tongue.

"Ehem. That should be it. I'll escort her so relax and you need to survive there, you got a promise with me." I cough as I smile.

"I know, thanks for your concern but I'll be alright. We need to clear the airport now so I'll talk to you later." She said as she hung up the phone.

I look at Shizuka as I said.

"We're going out tonight. Prepare now Shizuka. I'll go take a shower." I said as I start to walk in the bathroom.

I want to know the intel written on those documents and I can also save little Alice. Two in one. I sigh as I let myself relax in the hot water.
