CH 15 - Crossing the Bridge

We drive as we head for the bridge.

I could see others cry as they think of their family.

I just sigh as I talk to them.

"What's the address of your family. I would get someone to save them." I talk to them as I bring out my phone.

"R-really?" Toshimi and Misuzu ask as they clear the tears in their eyes.

"Really." I said as I came and pat their heads.

They blush as they say the address of their families. Rei got to me as she also want to inquire about her family. Even the silent Takashi comes too.

I call my subordinate as I ask them to save the people that lives in the address as I told them the names.

My company is involve in military itself, producing new technology products and architecture.

Japanese military orders firearms from us. We have good relationship that I can call them anytime my company needs help from any trouble inside Japan.

I finish calling and went to Shizuka.

"We need to stop near the bridge. I have my men waiting there." I said to Shizuka and she just nods as she spins the steering wheel.

We drive for more 1 hour as I talk with others and call my subordinates if they find someone on the said addresses.

As we arrived near the bridge, we could see three helicopters making air noises as the zombies that get near got shot by many men with black suit.

We park as I walk down the bus. Others follow me as they got amazed when they got to see a helicopter in front of them.

Seeing me, all men bowed as they shout "SIR!". I just greet them with my hands as they start to do their work again.

"Nikishita, how's the people that I order you to rescue?" I ask as he walk straight to me.

"It's done sir! Lucky that we have arrived there as the person you need to be rescued almost got bitten." Nikishita said to me. Nikishita is one of my trusted aide in company. He is the COO of the company. He operates things that happened in company.

"They're in the mansion now?" I inquire as I look at my back and use my hands to sign them to come closer to us.

"Yes sir! We've also deployed guards on your mansion and we also start cleaning the streets near the mansion and will barricade it later." Nikishita spoke in pride as he wants to make all things perfect for me.

"Good job! How's your family?" I appraise him for doing a good job on his work.

"They're fine sir! I thank you for taking us under you that day!" Nikishita bow again as he looks at me like I'm his God. Of course I save him when I was young. I help him and his family from a corrupt politician's tricks. There's many other people I saved in many different ways and they're loyal to me. All of them are skilled that I take them under my wing.

This apocalypse strengthen their faith more. If I don't save them, even if they survive in the said problem of them, they would've died in this apocalypse. I give them and their family asylum. It assures them that they're family is safe.

"It's alright. It's alright." I pat him in the back as he looks at me gratefully.

I finish talking to him as I look at my back and see Kohta gets in his nerdy gun enthusiast mode.

"Wow! Is that AK-47? Cool! That's Berretta M9, AR-15, Smith and Wesson Model 3566 and Winchester Model 21! Great guns with heavy firepower! I want to touch those!" Kohta said as he drools at the sight of the guns.

"Hey you fat otaku stop that!" Saya shouts as she look at him in disgust.

"How could I stop. This is my dream weapon! Dream weapon of many gun addicts" Kohta said dramatically as if he had seen the best weapon in the world.

'You would die with a happy face if you see and touch my electro machine gun.' I thought as I walk to them.

"Hey guys come onto the helicopter, we will leave now!" I drag Kohta as I signal them to come to the helicopters. For Kohta, I promise him that I would have him touch some other cool weapons like FAMAS and M16.

We get in the helicopter and flied straight to my mansion. We got in the air for 30 mins as we saw the destruction brought by the zombies.

Many houses got set into fire. Riots here and there. People killing each other. I even saw someone starts to rape a dead woman but I shot him in the head. When we get in the bridge, I saw many people got stranded as the police barricaded it. People trampled each other to get on the other side but someone got near a cop, holds the gun and in panicked accidentally shot a person. It got hell as the people doesn't care if they got shot and still rush. All the noises in bridge attracts the zombies attention, as expected they rush at them. The reporters got ready to leave as the police resolve themselves and shot every person that goes across the barricade. Zombies on the other side bites people as they easily multiply and starts to overwhelm the police.

While things got uproar, we just watch them as we look at all of them with a pity in our eyes. We're not heroes that would save all of unfortunate people. Even a baby got lost in the middle of stampede, I would still consider myself. It is the nature of human to save themselves before others. It's better for a baby to not see and experience these things so they would need to die hoping that in their next life, they would live in a life far from this apocalypse.

I feel pity for those people, even some are scumbags who doesn't care for others life, some are just living happy when these thing happen and those who don't have anything. They have life and here in this world is preserved. But now the apocalypse started, it will slowly crumble as people in power will get to do whatever they wanted. Some will show their true colors and dominate others. Some will also rule. But there is no perfect person. Even if they have good reasoning and helps people at first, in the end they will turn into maniacs and use other lives to save them. Either to be stronger than them or get killed by those walking dead is the choices you needed to choose.

"Th-this is happening, I-I can't believe that just a little while ago we we're happily taking our class but it turns out to be this now." Rei shakes as she spoke. She got scared at what's happening and couldn't help but pity unfortunate people in this apocalypse.

"We can't save all of the people and now you saw it, you all need to accept the reality. This will be our life from today onwards as we will find the source of this apocalypse and eliminate all of the dead." I said resolutely as I look the whole city in disrupt.

I sigh as I turn my vision in the front and starts to think of whoever made this zombies.
