What's that rumbling?

The two of them haven't unlocked one of the most basic functions known as the mini-map so he improvises with the use of his eyes. He was known to have a photographic memory that came in handy if he ever needed to make use of his brain. He goes on scribbling their current location and soon after he joined his disciple on the first herd they have stumbled upon in their search. Their group didn't have that much for the two of them to have no problem hunting their lives

"Remember what I've told you, Archioles medorus's weaknesses are inside their heels, that's the only place a few scales have grown. The things I heard about when I volunteered to raid this place tell me that they most resemble Achilles. If they grow some scales on their feet they'll be vulnerable to the large predators in their area. Neon's tactics wouldn't work perfectly well for the likes of these monsters, their body was built so they only need a few ounces of air. Their body is sturdier than anything else he had ever faced in his current state, for him it was the worst possible encounter. But he wasn't alone in this fight, he had a disciple that's waiting for his signal to appear whilst he kept on pulling his bow

Neon manifested his vines and later on, he engulfed their surrounding areas with a vine thick enough to be a wall

Their defenses were something that made them famous and their formation made it worse for anyone to face them in battle. How exactly does this near-blinded beast able to attack? This is a very important question they always asked, though the answer lies in their great sense of detecting vibrations," Neon quickly singled his greatsword at the surface of the ground and causes a loud vibration to occur

Normally any kind of sound would've been something that wouldn't catch their attention. Apart from their natural enemies that mostly reside in the sky, any land-dwelling creature was said to be nothing more than prey. These monsters quickly realize there's a new fresh prey that recently appeared in their front, they took a step back and rush to his location. This resulted in their scales to have widened and their horn extending beyond it's normal to reach

Once their pact closes within his calculated range, there was a bunch of roots that came bursting from the ground. They were the vines that he didn't use as a means to imprison his chosen enemies and we're used to disrupting their flow. The vibrations they made distracted their focus and Neon's vibrations were no longer in their range. They became disoriented and soon after the vines latched themselves into their bodies that created the opening his disciple was said to seize his given opening

"That's the signal!!" Alex quickly reacted and his arrow which he kept on holding was aimed at their heels

"Thornerus bone structure, I call upon your power to form a protective layer in my right arm," Alex releases the string of his bow and later suffered the recoil that came from his arrow. His arm would've been torn if he hadn't quickly made use of his ability, instead, he felt a slight sprain in his arm. But a sprain was worth everything when he saw the result of his attack

His arrows multiplied and most of them struck their mark and landed directly to strike the heel of his chosen target. The monsters screamed and Neon goes about his next actions he swung his blade and the fluid of the leviathan seeped into the scales of the monster. Slowly their scales couldn't handle the potency of his poison and soon their scales turned into a liquid. Seeing this as a result of their great sense of cooperation he kills the ones that tried to flee

The monsters that lack the protection of their scales were open to being struck by the arrows of his disciple. Neon focuses on the ones that were able to catch up on his plans and decided to leave. However, they stopped in their tracks as soon as they heard the similar vibrations they thought of as their prey

"Grieeeeeeh!!!" The monsters shrieked in an irritating low pitch that rings his ear whilst those that weren't affected managed to close their distance. Their scaleless feet made them able to tread without any kind of restrictions. Their massive size was nothing but their scales that acted as their armor, these monsters were agile. Anyone else would've quickly misjudged anything with their outward appearance

"Basic sword arts, Wide horizontal slash!!!" Neon wasn't the type of person who judges anything by their appearance, he had some fair share of troubles due to his ignorance. Some of those instances would've ended his life if he wasn't lucky enough to avoid their attacks. To him, the outer surface of something was just a mere content of the whole picture

He remembered the time when one of the most poisonous herbs and spices would become a medicine. It was due to his studies his close encounters and the experiments he conducted, he wasn't nearsighted about everything in the world. To an Alchemist his job was to observe and record every single detail of the things he chooses to learn. It was such an unfortunate match-up that the last hand that these monsters possess wasn't something that he didn't forget to prepare

His ears were clogged with a protective layer of fabric he collected from the monsters he came to have slaughtered. When everything came to his calculations he wasn't wrong in the slightest bit. As long as he knows of their weaknesses he wouldn't lose a single bit and for that reason, he was bored with this effortless victory. But he wasn't here for a fight, he came here so that he can collect their scales and make armor out of their flesh and bones

A rumble had occurred, this time it was a little stronger than the time when Alex was still inside his cocoon. He rushes as fast as he could and by the time he reaches his disciple, instead of seeing a gigantic monster. He was surprised by the cause of the rumbling and the smile and excitement on his disciple's face

"Master your back!!! Look a tower had manifested in the dark forest!!? This is the greatest thing that ever happened in my life!!!?" A tall and noticeable structure appeared near int eh location of his disciple and later on they were given a message of confirmation
