Think to Escape (1.17)

Jaxon let out the biggest spark of fire he could muster, which wasn't that big considering he had no clue how to use magic.

At that, Spencer started moving forward, along with Ion, Siren, Zero and Swansong, who had all been filled in on the plan.

Malachite spun around as Ion tackled him and Siren distracted Bloom, who looked over him like a very large and terrifying shadow.

Spencer blew a hole in the front of the building and Zero froze the guards who were running for Siren and Ion. Swansong pulled chains from her wrists and began helping Siren tie Bloom and Malachite up.

Ion made his way to the exit and began helping Spencer make the hole for their escape bigger. His claws tearing through the wall like a wrecking ball.

Elizabeth stood watching the commotion, frozen to her spot, she had no clue what to do. Dominic was standing at her side staring at her is terror.

"Reaper, what do we do..?" He stared at her. "The new mask who took your place is working against us all..."

Elizabeth finally realized what Swansong wanted her to do. She had to convince the others to escape and lead everyone out, which was something she was terrified to do of course.

"We have to help out.." Elizabeth decided creating an escape was better than being forced to kill any new mask that took part in this, so that's what she went with. "Flail, I need you to gas out anyone who refuses to join the escape, Nightshade will be by your side for that, Lantern will lead the group to the tunnels Blueblood and Cat used to escape last time, Leach you'll hold guard using your draining ability at the door."

The four she had given the orders to her just stared in confusion. They all seemed to be shocked with her decision but didn't say anything.

"What the fuck are you idiots staring at, get going!" She shouted and they all split off to do their individual tasks, she spotted Swansong give her a thumbs up and she hissed to herself under her breath.

Elizabeth headed to herd the new masks out of the building, seeing that Spencer and Ion were waiting outside with Darren who seemed confused.

"I need you to take the first group down, I'll wait here with Flail and Nightshade until everyone who wants to come along is out." Elizabeth ordered as Zane caught up.

"I'll go with them to the tunnel and wait at the entrance like you asked." He said, standing straight and trying to fix his posture so he didn't seem so small.

"Then get going."

The group took off into the unknown territory, their footsteps could be heard quickly moving across the ground as Darren lead the way.

Jaxon was busy hiding as he watched everyone escape, he could see that Reaper was waiting for everyone to leave, but Swansong, Siren and Ion hadn't left yet. Jaxon walked up to the four of them.

"Why aren't we leaving..?" Jaxon looked at them all. "Shouldn't we get going now?"

"Yeah we should, but Reaper brought up a good point.." Siren looked down.

"Those who grew up here have nowhere to go." Reaper explained. "That was one of the biggest reasons none of us have tried to leave.."

"I heard you mention that those tunnels were used to escape by someone before though..?" Swansong pointed out.

"Yeah they must've found somewhere, they couldn't have left just to leave you all behind like that..." Ion narrowed his eyes.

"I don't even know if they made it one month without Malachite finding and killing them.." Reaper hissed. "All I know is one day Malachite just suddenly gave up on looking for them and we all assumed they were either dead or never coming back."

"I have a place for you guys to go." Jaxon sighed. "I'll show you all where it is once we've put enough distance between us and here."

They all nodded and headed off, catching up to the rest of the group.

Elizabeth followed slowly behind, her senses going wild as she tried to make sure nothing could sneak up on them all. She was uneasy with this situation, why did she have to leave to some place unfamiliar? How could she betray her leader? What had come over her..?

Swan watched Reaper as she seemed on edge, her eyes darting all over the place, turning at the slightest of sounds. Swan rolled her eyes and pulled at the chains she held hidden at her wrists.

"Hey violet!" She hissed as she appeared behind the purple haired girl, her curly hair brushing against her own face.

Reaper jumped and slammed her bowstaff in Swan's face, Swan fell back and held her hand over her nose, she could feel the warm blood trickle down her face, leaking off her chin only slightly.

Elizabeth glared at the curly haired girl, the veins along her wrists turning black as rage bubbled up in her thoughts. She couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with Swansong, all she knew was the white haired new mask made her angry.

Jaxon stopped and looked behind himself, seeing Reaper muttering under her breath and Swansong laughing with blood dripping down her face.

"What the hell!?" Reaper shouted at Swansong, but Jaxon quickly put a hand over her mouth.

"Would you shut up?" He hissed. "We need to get out of here," he shook his head and huffed, "preferably without letting every criminal within a ten mile radius know where we are."

"Swansong I can see you mocking him from behind." Ion muttered as Jaxon looked over at Swansong, who was busy mocking Jaxon by making it look like her hands were talking.

"Real mature." Reaper mumbled under her breath before continuing on, Jaxon, Ion and Swansong heading after her and Siren.

Elizabeth looked around at everyone and realized most of them looked exhausted, miserable, or both. She never knew why she could never have escaped before, but right now it seemed entirely possible that they'd make it out alive.
