Though hardship interweaved with their everyday life, most of Anspia's residents were never acquainted with the dread a battle could deliver. That opportunity had been denied by the city's wall that adamantly protected them from outside abuse, until today, when an attack obliterated a large portion of that same wall along with the main gate.
Those who witnessed the event had their hearts hammered against their ribcages, and thunderous beats reverberated through their bodies, matching the rhythm of their escalating panic.
A split second later, their survival instincts struck, overwhelming their reasons. Prompting them to seize whatever valuable near them and flee as far away as their feet could take them.
Deafening screams escaped their twisted mouths, succeeding in fueling the ensuing chaos to a whole new level.
