Chapter 26

The Pevensie siblings told the professor everything and the professor believed them.

Peter, Edmund, and Lucy were now confused, they were back and it seems to have aged back. Also, they found not only did they lose the skills they gained in Narnia, but so was their maturity.

Peter and Edmund didn't know what to think of it, while Lucy firmly believed it was not a dream and everything was real.

While on the other hand, Susan was quiet in this whole discussion since she still felt her maturity and skills were still intact, which meant everything was real. But she also knew telling her siblings about this will only cause issues so she kept quiet about it.

But what made her even more sad about being unable to see her husband again. she was awake all night unable to sleep because her thoughts were about Hadrian, when she heard his voice"Susan."

Susan quickly got up and looked in the direction of the sound, where she saw a ghost-like figure of Hadrian. She teared up and muttered"Hadrian."

Susan went hugged him, but could not so he explained"This is my astral form."

Susan was saddened hearing that, Hadrian touched her face lovingly. She could feel try warmth of his hands even now and just as she was about to speak.

Hadrian then gestured for her to be quiet, Susan nodded and looked at Lucy, who was sleeping and didn't seem to have heard her.

Hadrian smiled at her and said"I was worried when the hunting party returned and told me all of you disappeared. I had to use our soulbond to find you."

Susan smiles and then in a low tone asked"What happened, I mean one minute we were hunting, and the next minute we are back in our world?"

Susan questioned, "Was Aslan the one who sent us back."

Hadrian shrugged and answered"Probably. I guess Father probably thought it was time to go back."

Susan was not sure how to feel about it, on one hand, she would be able to see her parents again. But on the other, she will not be able to see her husband until they can return to Narnia.

Susan then said, "Expect for me, none of my siblings retained the maturity or skill they learned in Narnia."

Hadrian was thoughtful and replied It is probably how deep magic between the worlds work, I mean when someone like Lucy suddenly acts like an adult and does things she never learned it would create doubts in people's mind. For you to retain your memories and kills is probably because of our bond."

Susan nodded agreeing with it, since it was logical, and then added"Edmund and Peter are pretty bumped about the fact they are young again, and added the fact of being not being Kings. While Lucy still believes everything was real."

Hadrian could see how without maturity Peter would have a hard time adapting back into normal life, after all, he was King in Narnia. He was broken out of his thoughts by Susan's question"So is there a way for us to return to Narnia?"

Hadrian sighed and answered'I don't know the only father is capable of bringing people here. Also, time seems to flow differently here and in Narnia."

Then something click for Susan"Wouldn't that mean you will age faster."

Hadrian calmed her down and said, "Don't worry, I won't age being the son of Aslan has perks."

Susan sighed in relief, then thought about how Hadrian will probably have to wait centuries to be together again.

Then Hadrian remembered something that mattered"Maybe there is a way for us to meet."

Susan with slight hope asked"How?'

Hadrian explained about the  Wood Between the Worlds was the name given to a mysterious realm of portals that allowed magical travel between the worlds of  Charn, Earth and Narnia, and numerous others. It had the form of a quiet forest dotted with many wide pools of supposed water, each of which served as a portal to a different world.

Susan understanding the idea said, "So we meet each other in a different world instead of Narnia."

Hadrian nodded and told her"It will take some time for me to figure out how the deep magic in that place works."

Susan was okay with it and replied in a sad tone"My time will pass quickly, while you will have to wait for a long time."

Hadrian smiled and kissing her cheek whispered"I am ready to wait for even a millennium to be with you again."

Susan cried hearing that, while she noticed Hadrian's astral form dispersing and with worry asked"What is happening?"

Hadrian smiled and replied, "It seems my time is up."
