Poison

The next day Eric once again waited with Nyx for the next test, After a couple of hours a skinny demon with gray and wrinkled skin walked up to the podium before speaking. "Today I will be your judge, your test is to use the materials that will be given in half an hour and make an alchemical product. It can be anything from a potion to a salve it just has to be made by alchemy. Your time limit will once again be three hours, You will be given a book to introduce you to alchemy to read in the next half an hour and you will be ranked the same way as the last test."

Hearing this Eric was intrigued, in his time as a mercenary he had failed in poison and drug making and he was decent at it but he read the given book anyway, never know what might happen. After the half an hour was up Eric walked over to his testing area and decided to make his old faithful, meth. Just kidding, he's making poison. Filling the cauldron up with water he started a low fire under it to slowly heat it before grabbing some plants.

Interestingly the blue flower he used for the dye in his coat was here, it was called the moon's touch and was needed in quite a few healing tonics, but he wasn't using them now. What he was using, however, was snake grass, known for being highly toxic, phantom dew, known for erasing your sent, ember flowers which were used to slow down the spread of poison, and lastly blood weed, which was known for being able to grow in almost any environment.

By combining them all he got a slow-acting, tasteless, colorless, odorless, highly potent, and hardy poison that unless completely cleared in one go would come back stronger, Basically cancer in a bottle. And he had a filled cauldron of this stuff so he was damn well gonna use it, so he made some bone bottles with special magic protection and filled them with it, each bottle had about 1 liter and he had 12 bottles not counting what was in the cauldron to be tested.

He had a few ideas about how to use it, some crazier than others but that was for later. For now, it was time for his poison to be tested. As the old wrinkled demon got to his cauldron he looked in to find what he thought was just water he asked "Where is your alchemical product?" to which Eric replied "Just taste some of it, and once you have, drink this." as he pulled out the antidote, which ironically looked more like poison than the actual poison.

Narrowing his eyes but still complying the demon stuck his finger in the cauldron before tasting the liquid from it, after a moment he grabbed the drink from Eric's hand and downed the whole thing, and left, now with a cold sweat running down his back from fear of what he just tasted. When the testing was over the demon walked back up the podium before speaking "I am the head of the alchemy division of the academy, apart from a few of you, the rest aren't worth mentioning, Those who are will be mentioned now. In last place with 52 of 100 points is..." after a while, the demon got to the first place he cleared his throat, "and in the first place will 98 of 100 points, Eric. That is all." as he said this he walked off the podium and left. After hearing this the demons once again looked over to Eric in shock as he walked over to Nyx, this time with some ideas about the poison he made.

After sitting down he pulled out the bone canisters and opened one before taking out a premade needle filling it with the poison and sealing the canister back up. With the need now full of highly toxic poison he put it into one of his veins and injected about one milliliter before stopping to see if his idea would work. Immediately he could feel the poison spread throughout his bloodstream, slowly sleeping into all his organs as it began to eat away at a crawlingly slow pace.

If left to its own devices the one milliliter that he injected would take about a year to kill him. Unfortunately for it, his body did what he thought it would, adapt. Before it could even cause any real damage his body had fully countered and subdued it. Now his blood contained some of the deadliest poison he had ever seen, or made. Seeing that his test was a success he injected the rest of the needle into his bloodstream before moving on to his next idea.

If he wanted more of this stuff he would need all the ingredients which would take time and money, or he could use body magic and make a lining organism that would naturally produce it, and then maybe turn that organism into an organ, and maybe add that organ to his body. He wasn't going to go full chimera but that didn't mean he couldn't augment what he already had, and a poison/venom-making gland was definitely an argument that he wanted.

Getting straight to work he collected the 'subdued' herons of the poison and collected the anti-venom for it before creating something similar to a snake venom gland and adding the anti-venom to it, this way it wouldn't be destroyed by the normal poison/venom. After that, he used body magic to add the venom to the gland before refining the whole thing. After it was done the venom gland started to produce the venom. Collecting some and injecting it into himself he could tell that it was the same.

With a now functioning venom gland that made the venom he wanted he 'saved' it using body magic so that he could create one whenever he wanted, something he learned how to do after making the bone armory so that he didn't need to custom make a new weapon every time an old one broke.

Once again using body magic Eric fused the venom gland with his kidney, his first idea was to add it to his mouth so he could spit venom, but he didn't like that idea. With it added to his kidney the venom could help it in 'cleaning' his body of toxins, It would also slowly infuse the venom into his bloodstream, making his blood highly poisonous. After doing this his {custom physique lv3} turned into {custom physique lv4}.
