Heaven´s will soul awakening

An old and haggard voice resounded "The next one can go inside."

Jason didn't even sense any mana radiating from the presumed old man, only a slight amount of mana could be detected within him.

There was an eerie feeling and it was like a dragon was suppressed inside the old man and Jason's face paled slightly.

A single thought appeared in his mind

'Wolf in sheep's skin'

Greg entered the room first as the door fell open followed by his parents and his presumed sister.

Jason was the last one to enter the room which had a high mana density.

Not only did the room have an incredibly high density of mana, but also the size of the room couldn't be described as huge because that would be a gross underestimation.

Jason couldn't see anything through the bandage, except the radiating mana from the materials but even then he was unable to figure out the size.

He estimated the height to be more than 30 meters and suddenly felt uncomfortable and tiny.

A high-graded mana gathering formation was inscribed inside the room. Jason saw ten orbs placed on top of an altar each that were all greedily absorbing mana. These orbs were the size of a tennis ball and could easily fit in one hand.

The old man led Greg to one of the altars in the middle.

His family and Jason stayed back and watched as Greg was told to make a small cut on one of the fingers of his hand.

Afterward, he placed the injured hand on top of the orb to activate the soul awakening.

The moment Greg's blood dripped on the orb Jason felt like he was on ecstasy as huge streams of multicolored mana gathered inside the orb which he saw through the bandage

A steady stream of mana continued to flow into the orb for a few minutes until the orb was filled to a certain degree.

Thereafter, the orb began to shine in red color and it projected a small white world that roughly resembled a sphere with a radius of 5 meters.

Not a moment later, the orb projected another world that suddenly appeared next to this white world. The second world looked completely different than its counterpart.

While the white world had two huge mana streams in two different colors floating within, the other projected world was slightly bigger, had a thick red hue around it, and was devoid of any colorful mana streams.

Though Jason couldn't see these worlds owing to his bandage, he could still sense their appearance and the sudden mana surge in the room. He instantly understood that this was a double awakening.

It was rare to have two souls inside a single individual and even if the world with its 5-meter radius indicated that only a smaller number of soulbond contracts were possible, it was still above average.

Greg's family who had been watching his soul-awakening were delighted to watch the scene unfold in front of them. His father's eyes shone with pride as he exclaimed,

"Hahaha, my son as expected!!"

His mother looked at her son teary-eyed, "Our family has worthy and hardworking children!"

She began to cry as tears of joy and pride began streaming down her face. Jason thought it was a bit too much and looked around miserably when he heard the girl sobbing next to him.

She mumbled "Good job brother, you did it.."

Jason was way too astonished to understand the situation and he took out a handkerchief that he had purchased previously as he went closer to the girl.

She looked up to see the youth with bandaged eyes handing her a handkerchief.

Accepting the handkerchief she wondered who this youth was as he had bandaged eyes yet walked freely without his cane.

She stopped sobbing and dried her wet cheeks.

Jason turned back to face the altar where Greg was still standing.

He roughly knew what the ranking for Greg would look like.

The ranking ranged from zero to five stars with zero being the worst and five being the best.

Receiving zero stars meant one was worse than the average human. It meant that one would probably be only able to form a single soulbond contract with a wild beast, maybe with some luck, an awakened beast.

While wild beasts are comparable to ancient animals and only slightly stronger, awakened beasts have the possibility to possess an ability like elemental affinities or body traits.

Receiving a one-star result in a soul-awakening meant that a student wouldn't be accepted in most of the high schools that would deem him worthless. He could at most form a contract with probably just one beast that was feeble and weak.

Two stars meant the student was an average candidate and would be able to form a contract with at least two to three beasts. His first soulbond would most likely be a low-awakened beast.

Scoring three stars was already a rare occurrence in soul awakening, while three and a half stars were considered as an extraordinary score.

Most three stars are able to form at least 4 soulbonds, maybe even 5 while they´re more likely to have a late-awakened beast cub as the first soulbond.

Four and five-star rankings are even rarer to come by. The students who score four stars are called Heaven's will and those with five stars are called God's Child.

Both of these soul rankings are exceptional and very few are able to awaken such souls.  Everything about them has to be exceptional including soul size, soul energy, and the type of soul.

The old man lost focus for a quarter second before gathering his thoughts.

He cleared his head and announced.

"Greg Fler, 14 years old, 2nd Adept rank has successfully awoken a double soul.

One soul world has a diameter of 10 meters while the other one is 12 meters in diameter.

Both souls can form three soul bounds each while the physical soul might even be able to form a contract with a fourth weak beast.

Adding both numbers together Greg can form a contract with 6 to 7 beasts.

While the elements, wind, and thunder are drawn to one soul world, the other soul world is a physical one that allows non-elemental monsters with strength, speed, tenacity, and so on as their forte to form a contract with Greg.

This physical soul world would increase the shared amount of strength from the soulbond to the master with the larger part focusing on the physique.

Being able to form a contract with 6 to 7 beasts is more than extraordinary while a double awakening is also rarely seen.

But, the most important factor is that your soul energy has already reached the red color. It is close to the light red color which means that you can form a soulbond with a late evolved ranked beast.

Thus, after adding every aspect together, I can safely say that your potential totals to four stars which is also called Heaven's will."

The elderly man stated his opinion in a relatively calm and composed manner. Among the few hundred thousand kids he had accompanied during his long life Greg could be placed among the top 1%.

More than satisfied with his result Greg stepped down and rushed to his family that greeted him cheerfully.

Everyone was relieved that Greg had received a very good soul awakening. He received pats on his back and hugs from his family for his achievement, while Jason gave him a thumbs up.

Jason thought that it was the right thing to do and it made him more comfortable for his own soul awakening.

Greg suddenly asked him, "Jason, when is your soul awakening? Can I also watch it?"

One's soul was normally kept as a secret as it was a vital piece of information about someone.

Greg would have four stars as his exam remark for his soul-awakening, but even that was seen as a breach of privacy by most people.

Jason thought for a second before answering him with a light smile.

"My soul awakening is on the 2nd of August at 10:25 am, you're free to come.

You also trusted me with it so that's only fair."

The old man who hadn't paid any attention to the examinee's company noticed Jason and the man's eyes widened in astonishment. The old man could see something through the bandages on Jason's eyes that made him curious.

He squinted his eyes as he kept gazing at Jason intently and said in a loud voice.

"Brat, if you want to have your soul awakening right now, you can walk up the steps to the altar."

"Can I really?" Jason asked impatiently while Greg smiled.

However, Greg's parents and his sister felt slightly confused as they knew how extremely difficult it had been for them to have the old man supervise Greg's soul awakening.

Greg had been the cream of the crop amongst all the students in his school with his exam results and even then the old man had required a few months of persuasion until he gave in to their request.

Now this greedy and stubborn man was letting an unknown youth perform his soul-awakening right in front of him nonchalantly which was weird in their opinion.

"Of course that's okay. Come up!"

After the old man responded Jason's happiness knew no bounds as he stepped up the stairs quickly to the others' surprise.

Everyone watched in astonishment as the blind youth had rushed up the stairs without tripping or even faltering and had reached the altar with brisk steps.

The old man handed Jason a small knife with which he would have to cut his hand a little when he arrived in front of the cleaned orb.

But before Jason could proceed, the old man intervened as he grabbed the old man's hand and asked the question that had been bothering him.

He whispered in a quiet voice so that only Jason would hear him.

"Brat, why are you hiding your eyes?"
