Chapter6: All out war

Dominic Dmitry was delighted seeing the scene in front of him.

"I need to get as many kills as possible and so how I should go about all of this. It might be better to blend in while getting some kills unnoticed than going all this it from the start."

He wandered to himself.

Dom knew that he was probably stronger than the rest considering that he got an exclusive achievement and is probably the only one with a weapon.

"I don't want to be targeted yet. At least not until I am strong enough to crush everyone and until I have an accurate sense of everyone's strength."

Dom, realising that he was wasting too much time thinking about this, went into the fray. He didn't use his sword as to not bring too much attention to himself but seeing the sight of him one hit KOing everyone in his vicinity, many players backed off. Not minding this too much, Dom decided to give chase and catch other players off guard.

Dom figured out that he gained about 300 experience per kill as he had killed 10 people in total now.

"Levelling up is quite easy actually. Soon I'll be able to get to level 10 and have access to the system shop."

Dom had an extreme desire to go all out and try his powers out but without hiding his appearance, he was reluctant to do so. He knew that he wouldn't be invincible back in the real world as even if bullets probably didn't work against him anymore, he doubted that he could survive a large enough bomb.

Even while holding back Dom was still currently 1st on the leaderboard with 30 kills. But he wasn't winning by much as there were a few on 25

kills and a lot more with over 20.

Considering that this leaderboard currently included every player in the world, it was still quite a feat to be first even while holding back.

Dom, deciding to quickly level up, dashed at the nearest player and punched him in the spine which paralysed him. Then he quickly send another fist into his face, which crushed him in n to the floor, to confirm the kill. Without waiting, he ran towards two people that were in an intense battle. Dominic naturally gave no fucks about integrity, or what ever, or the fact that one of them was a female, he still punched their faces in. He was doing all of this while only utilising martial power and all master, meaning that he had yet to use aether, all elemental magic or divinity.

Dominic realised that it was indeed the best to kill others with his own hands and not even minding the fact that he was covered in blood he continued the hunt. It's not like the bodies just disappeared when a player died. Sure they revived but the battle field that spanned more than anyone could see, was littered with bodies. There was almost a billion players in this dimension meaning, that at any one time, hundreds of millions of players were dead. It had only been about 30 minutes out of the allotted 2 hours, but some players were starting leave others behind, in terms of strength. These were the players that were lucky enough to get special attributes and so, like Dom, they were at an advantage compared to the others from the start.

Dom looked at the system shop and with only a glance he already saw the things that he really needed. The Tracking skill was almost imperative for him if he wanted to track and kill the Mafia members that killed his parents. The awareness skill would act as protection against sneak attacks and knowing the people he would be up against, he had to be ready for any possibility.

Dom thought that the double speed would be nice but it had a downside, which meant it could only be used for a limited duration, and this made it much less valuable.

He promptly bought the two skills.

After promptly clicking yes he scoured the miscellaneous section for anything good. Though he was tempted by the lucky draw, he knew he couldn't be careless yet, so he moved on and he was able to find something good. The Devils mask.

"Hmmm, this is actually quite fitting"

Dom, realising that the mask was almost hand made for him, bought it without much deliberation.

This item is able to hide the user's appearance and exude a sense of intimidation to who ever shall gaze upon it.

He had now spent most of his gold and after deciding to keep the 500 left for emergencies, Dom closed the system shop. Swiftly he took out the mask from the inventory and after putting it on he also retrieved the sword that he had already received.

It seemed that 40 minutes had passed meaning that he had 1 hour 20 minutes to level up and kill as many as possible.

He looked up at the leaderboard and he was not surprised to see that he was no longer first as he had spent about ten minutes using the shop function while the others were still slaughtering. But since Dominic was already level 5 while the strongest players were only at level 3, no one else had yet reached level 10. Dom thought that since he got 5 levels from an exclusive achievement, he would still be the highest level and not wanting to change that he leapt back into the chaos.
