Roommates

As I sat on my bed I started to unpack some items from my ring I would catch Nephele occasionally stealing glances in my direction however she turned away the moment I saw her, "Is.. something wrong? I asked curiously.

"N..nothing is wrong your just so cool.." Nephele said while slightly flush.

"I'm cool? I mean I'll take it.. by the way who is our other room mate?"

Nephele sat up, "Ryoko she's an Oni from an eastern continent, she spends most of her time on the sparring field or at the Martial fighting class though she should be back soon for a small break."

"An Oni? Like from Japanese mythology? Her name is Ryoko.. that name sounds like a Japanese name.. is it perhaps possible someone else has been reincarnated into this world from Earth too?" I think to myself as the dorm room door opens I'm brought back to reality.

Standing in the door way a beautiful white haired woman with violet eyes, her body is toned and muscular yet still beautiful she wears a white and back kimono with red accents, she carries a katana at her hip, she has two slightly curved horns on her head, there was also a rather defined bulge in her crotch region.

Nephele jumped up and ran to this girl, "Hey Ryoko this is Lithia she's our new roommate, she's the one who stood up to the Pyra twins earlier!"

The oni girl Ryoko crossed her arms, "Yeah? And? Is that supposed to impress me?"

I stood from my bed and approached her, "Nephele told me you spend your time at the sparing field training all day, would you perhaps be willing to spar with me?"

Both Ryoko and Nephele looked at me as if I was stupid then as Nephele looked nervous Ryoko started laughing I think I noticed her bulge twitch.., "You.. want to spar? Well I won't say no.. but don't expect to win.." as she she struggled to talk while laughing.

It took Ryoko a moment to compose herself.

"I'll tell you what this will be a standing offer, if you beat me once before the end of this year then I'll owe you a favor.. I was un sure of you since you managed to get admitted late but I believe we will get along."

I nod then walk past them leaving the room, "Where are you going?" Said Ryoko

I cocked my head to the side, "Didn't you say you would spar with me? If so let's do it now I have a whole year to win so I was thinking of gauging your strength now.." I said dryly

Ryoko and Nephele just looked at each other, then they both smiled before following me. Nephele ran up to be beside me while Ryoko walked ahead leading the way, "So Lithia.. what sort of weapon do you practice?" Nephele asked me, Ryoko also payed attention to this question.

"Hmm I've never used any type of physical weapons before." Both Nephele and Ryoko stopped in their tracks as I continued, "That being said I can conjur and form weapons from my magic, before my accident I was able to merge both of my Affinities together while also using the Armament skill it was quite something.."

Both Ryoko and Nephele were wide eyed upon hearing this the other girls walking through the hall also became like deer in headlights..

"Um.. did I say something wrong?" I asked nervously.

Ryoko was the first to break from her stupor, "N..no nothing wrong it's just a mage or a warrior that could merge their Affinities.. that's quite strong.. it's just surprising if your words are true.."

Nephele nodded as wr started to walk again ignoring the gazes I received eventually Nephele spoke again. "You were in an accident? How would that affect your magic? Before I could respond Ryoko spoke, "Neph.. don't pry into others secrets.."

"No no it's okay I don't mind talking about it, and I'd rather be up front since we will be living together for a while, Yes my magic core was damaged in the accident.. well it wasn't truly an accident I knew damaging my magic was a possibility.. but I had to risk it to save some dear to me.."

Both of the girls nodded and kept silent for the rest of the journey to the sparring field, upon arriving Nephele moved to sit in the stands and Ryoko lead me to the weapon rack, "When sparring we use wooden weapons since out goal isn't to kill or maim our opponents, however if you ever challenge someone to a life or death duel or are challenged yourself, should both parties accept then they use real weapons with the intent to kill. Pick your weapon."

As she motioned to the weapon rack she took her katana off her hip and picked up a wooden katana then moved to the center of the sparring field. There was a myriad of different weapons, ranging from longsword, shortswords spears, hammers, two handed weapons however three caught my attention the scimitar a one handed weapon with a slight curve to the blade.. this is the form my armaments usually took yet actually holding it I'm unsure, since the magic blade was weightless, the others were a Chinese like blade called the Jian, this blade was dual edged with a guard and handle the final blade was a longsword with a triangular like tip this sword didn't have a handle if I remember correctly this is called a Flyssa, the flyssa would probably be more difficult to learn so for now I picked the Jian and approached the field.

"I like that you took your time to find a weapon that suited you Lithia." Ryoko remarked from one side of the sparring field.

"There are a few weapons is like to learn with enough proficiency to use in the future and I'd like to simply make sure I choose the right ones." As I get into a rough stance

Ryoko nodded as she took her stance with ease, "I won't go easy on you, Nephele count us in!"

"I'm glad." I responded

Nephele took out a coin, "When this coin hits the ground you may begin.. just try not to hurt each other..." as Nephele sighed she flipped the coin high in the air, it felt like am age past before it made it's way back down to the ground with a Clank both Ryoko and I left forward as dust was kicked up behind us.
