Frozen Empress

The flow of time ebbed to a halt for me as a knife thrust into my chest, a cascading river of crimson exited my wound, my life fading as flickers of memories played in my head as the assailant ran off with my wallet. Darkness clouded my eyes as a cold yet oddly exhilarating feeling ravaged my body. "At least no one will miss me.." as my vision fadded.

Darkness. Coldness. Loneliness enveloped my being. Time stood still in this endless void, I couldn't move it was as if I was stuck in tar, "Am I Dead? I asked out into the void not particularly expecting an answer.. as my last vestige of hope started to fade a voice rang out in the unending darkness a the voice was strange I was unable to tell if it was male or female.. it just was.. "Yes you are deceased, do not fear you are on the path of reincarnation."

I scoffed "Reincarnation? I was never religious.."

The voice spoke "One doesn't have to believe for it to happen, do you have any wish for your next life?"

I thought I was just going insane but then again I was definitely dead.. what the hell.

"I wish to be strong, I wish to not be alone.. I wish... " before I could finish my thoughts I was blinded by a brilliant light that enveloped me as the tar like substance faded then everything went dark. I was swimming.. no.. floating I could hear voices unfamiliar voices a woman's voice, "Only one more push mistress."

I felt as the walls were closing in on me and the only way was towards the light and once again a bright light enveloped my eyes, when my eyes settled I saw I was in the arms of a beautiful woman with black hair and emerald eyes she was beautiful more beautiful than anyone I had ever seen before. The woman beside her had cat ears shocked me I had to do a double take, I reached my hand to the cat eared woman as I saw my hand the hand of a baby.

I tried to speak out in shock but only an incoherent gargle of sounds escaped my mouth.

The woman with green eyes my apparent mother spoke, "Isn't my Darling daughter beautiful Zara?" The cat eared woman named Zara spoke up in response, "Indeed she is a beautiful baby Mistress. What will your daughter be named?"

My mother who's name I still hadn't heard yet said as she looked at me, "Hmm I think Lithia would suit her quite well."

Lithia was my new name which I didn't dislike I just am still trying to get over being a baby.. but why do I still remember my past life.. did that voice make a mistake.. all I know now is that my goals haven't changed I still want to be strong, I still want people to care about me.. so maybe this new life isn't so bad after all. As time passed I learned my mother's name Sophia Eventyde she held some sort of royal title however in the following days I never met my father nor heard mother or the maid Zara speak of him, I had cought a glimpse of Zara casting some sort of magic to clean the clothes, "So magic exists here.." I made a mental note to ask about magic when I learned to speak again.

One day when I was supposed to be asleep laying in my crib I heard a ding and instantly information flooded my mind I held a cheeky smile on my face then spoke or tried to speak, "Stawtus" of course I was trying to say status but being a baby and all... then a panel appeared right in front of me.

I was stunned to see everything infront of me, pretty normal stats for a baby I guess, I almost squealed when I saw my magic stat but I managed to hold my excitement. A few things did stump me though like my gender what is a futa and how can I nor know what race I am.. as for the whole bloodline thing well it's in the same boat as my race probably.. as for the gifts I clicked on Beauty, it was pretty straightforward it seems like I will attract some attention when I grow up as for Talent It just seems like I'll level up faster or something.

Time passed and now I had been in this unknown world for 5 years in that time I had learned how to walk, talk and basic magic.. apparently my race matures slightly faster than normal humans.
